Thanks for clarifying the learning curve with his ult. I’m a venom main around 90 hrs on venom & I’m trying to learn magneto. Played 2 matches today and whiffed his ult so bad everytime i could feel the embarrassment from my team and even my ancestors. I won’t give up tho im excited to learn him as my 2nd tank. This guide told me everything i was missing from combo cancels to who to bubble & even your gameplay was very helpful. Thank you!

I struggle so much killing with this character and even though Im tanking and targeting their backline I get called out all the time for low kills because you know, tonyour teammates, stats are the measure of how good youre doing.

Thank you for mentioning the animation cancel with melee. I've been checking a few magneto guides in hopes to find it but most are just "Here's the abilities" and none of the actually advanced ones I've seen so far have not mentioned the cancel technique.

Magneto and strange's shields seem to count as blocking line of sight which actually lets them block strange and jeff ult. You should make sure you have teammates health bars visible so you can actually put the bubble on teammates when they need it instead of just guessing they need it because theyre out of position.

I've been practicing decending during his Ult by pressing LCtr key to see if it's more effective throwing it that way. Have you tried it?

Why don't you prioritize ulting cloak during her ult, also you should bubble your cloak during her ult. Besides that great video

Legitamite question, as a dsp, doesn't shoot at tanks increase you odds of building ults faster and if you're only prioritizing other dps or supports then who is stopping the objective pushing tanks?

In that peel situation (#3), you aren't going to be doing the only damage too (hopefully). If Venom dives Luna, Luna doing some shots WHILE you're on Venom means you delete him in about 2 seconds. Had a game last night as Rocket where Sue Storm and I (rocket) spent the entire game deleting the other team's dive Hulk - he was a non factor all game. Sometimes I want a more complex character but I do love a Rocket game sometimes.

One thing that should be emphasized DO not do chip damage with Rocket, if you don't think you can get the kill with in 2-3 seconds probably not best to shoot because you're just feeding ult energy to healers. Securing kills during openings or saving a team mate>>>trying to play like a DPS

as a rocket main who gets mvp almost every game i win bc of the kills, i can attest that in situations where a tank is cornered 99% of the time you’re better off killing or at least distracting the enemy on the tank, the tank and support literally hold the team together

3:10 This doesn't apply to all Vanguards since some need to stay in a specific spot to get the best value, like Peni for example. If you play domination and plant your nest in the middle of the point, it's a sitting duck for the enemy team and they could take it out in seconds so you need to find a safe spot for the nest and play from there

Imo theyre prolly scared to really fix cap because he has potential to be such a steamrolly character. If you give him damage on top of his mobility he will be a monster but if you fix his defensive issues his mobility will make him virtually unkillable. Whatever you do for him, he becomes annoying to deal with, and i bet it makes them hesitant to tweak him.

I wanna love Cap so bad but there are just so many problems with him. I feel like they just make the fixes everyone wants he would at least stop being the laughingstock of the Vanguard category. They don’t have to up his damage or anything. Just make him make sense to play.

Rocket is my go to Healer, if I have to go solo healer, since his AOE Healing Orbs that ricochet around can heal many players at the same time, that are somewhat spread out

Understanding that Rocket has a .5 sec delay hitscan shot is huge when understanding how to aim with him. No mater the distance. His shots hit the target .5 later.

one thing i hate when playing aggresive with him is when i run out of healing balls, i HAVE to reload when i have full 45 bullets ready to use, i really hope they change that cause its janky af

I think you can melee cancel into a jump and do at least two swings before diving strike. Although your point still stands and are correct - you should be able to bind it to another button

The explanation with the Rocket healing you while you were Captain and wanting the Rocket to just turn and shoot the WS was very much appreciated. It gave me some much needed context for certain situations I know I have been in while healing as Rocket and I will take that into my future games. Thanks a bunch, bro.

They need to fix Cap's bug when he walk backwards with his shield up.

One match an iron man was lighting up my team and nobody was trying to kill him. He was too far for me to cause any real damage but i shot at him anyway. He started chasing me, i ran down a tight hallway, turned the corner and waited. He followed me thru and I LIT HIM TF UP when he finally “caught” me 😂

You can literally use your primary, and tap your secondary... like wtf are we even talking about?

I mainly use it versus tanks, not just divers, but close to my team near tanks to add damage

I shoot when no one needs healing destroy traps melt bubbles or strange shield flankers and before a fight start to put out poke damage I also shoot in between heal orbs 1 damage better than 0 damage

Apparently rocket's gun isn't a projectile, it's a delayed hitscan. It runs it's hitscan check like half a second after the "bullet" is fired.

I use rocket whenever I'm up against Namor, Moon Knight and Loki on the same team, or whenever C&D is filled and we need a healer. He has so much evasive ability, can heal from across the map, and shreds against stationary and stunned targets. The only DPS that complains about me picking rocket are the same ones that die to an ankh over a doorway. If I can't outheal Groot in a team fight, I will spam need healing so the other support catches the hint that tank needs a chunk of HP to sustain. Rocket isn't an issue, it's the operator behind the character that makes the difference. Try to get at least 10-15k damage and healing as him to keep your team quiet.

Rockets movement is so fun, I love healing from above while dodging storm ults. I do wish his gun did a bit more damage outside of headshots.

I'm glad someone puttin' up videos of how to use Rocket's gun. Glad to see I'm on the right track. Now I just have to break the "Fine, I'll do it myself" mentality as I watch our Duelists struggle to hurt things. Some cool tips: If you are close enough to melee someone, you are close enough to jump and shoot down on their face. So do that instead. It can be tricky, but worth practicing. A player can only be effected by 1 healing orb at a time and for 3 seconds of healing each, so if you are helping a crowd, or just one dude, orb them, then use the remaining 2-and-some-change seconds to melt their opponent. Great for helping your supports or your tanks in a pinch. If they have an Iron Man/Storm, your middle name is "Spider Man (with a gun)".

I literally MELT tanks all the time with rocket. It was surprising to me to hear you say most rockets don’t do this. Our damage is insane. Dps divers aren’t as easy but tanks… absolutely SHREDDED

I'm a GM, this is all true. As a rocket that gets some times 10 plus kills, they come from killing divers and low heal enemies. I would argue, you could melt a tank close rang almost as fast as wolverine. It is insane.

I love how tip 5 is just hey did you know that if your getting shot at you can use your gun to shot back.

To add onto the tip of shredding dive tanks for pressure, take advantage of Rocket's small size against Doctor Strange in particular. His kit is designed to help him take up space with his shield and force essential picks out of position for him to burst down. His ultimate charge is something to especially keep track of, above all else, as this will largely determine your position throughout the fight. Find an off angle that'll allow you to shred his shield within 10 meters while remaining out of his immediate line of sight. Strange will NOT expect to see Rocket's full magazine shred his shield down, and will more often than not be forced to disengage from any value he could have gotten if he noticed someone out of position.
