Dude,u SHOULDN'T eat ANYTHING u catch in off the Bay. It's hella polluted and all that chemical shit goes into ur body. There's the gas and petrol from all those boats and Arnie was in power, there was some big ass leak from a boat and all that shit is still floating around. I'd throw all of em back.

Where are you when you're poke pole fishing

We used to get these at Redondo Beach Washington. At Low tide we would scrape the mussels off the dock pilings. The worms are on the pilings. The ones we got were 3-6 inches and green. They do pinch. The fish love them.

I actually learned to fish at Lake Merced. I used to ride my bike from Daly City and fish every day during the summer. Back then, in the 1950's, people were fishing elbow to elbow off of that concrete barrier. Truly combat fishing! To me, the last time I saw it the lake, it looked like it's in deplorable condition. I wouldn't eat anything I take out of it because of all the lead the gun range has deposited in the lake. A hundred years worth of shot, slugs, etc. Too bad.
