@RetireandGo yes! If you ever need to come home the rent will help pay it off. I feel it's key in retirement for those wishing to stay in the house is to pay off the mortgage.. Then you don't need as much to live on 😀
I remember having a conversation with a coworker years ago. He was lamenting of how many Americans live beyond their means with lots of debts. I pointed out to him that getting a mortgage to buy your house is also kinda living beyond your means. Most people in other countries save up until they have enough to buy a house with their own money rather than getting a home loan. That triggered a disagreeing response from him. To him a home mortgage is not living beyond your means. I guess most (if not all) Americans are so used to the idea of having a home mortgage that it no longer occurs to them that, technically at least, it's a form of living beyond your means. @@lustgartenthis is from the IRS: The standard deduction reduces a taxpayer’s taxable income by a set amount determined by the government. The first 14,600 you earn is not taxable It’s tax free :-) It has nothing to do with expenses
@@RetireandGo sorry but that's not really true. For the vast majority of tax filers, the standard deduction is the way to go. “Generally, taxpayers whose total itemized deductions are less than the standard deduction (based on their filing status) will benefit from taking the standard deduction. However, if the taxpayer’s total itemized deductions are greater than their standard deduction, they must itemize,” says Kathy Pickering, chief tax officer at H&R Block... thus if you have itemized expenses that exceed $14000 as many property owners have the standard deduction would not be effective.

Taxes. Social Security is taxed at a lower rate and yes certain divedends are not taxed. Don't make too much money the other way or you get killed in taxes. This is making me hungry man. I like the advice on where you stay, the little clean, secure hole in the walls run by nice people. Start a health savings account just for your dental needs as you age. I like mushroom & black olive. That is so cool a pizza place. Warren Buffet said crypto is rat poison.
Good idea about the dental account
In Singapore u can earn unlimited dividends tax free
That’s pretty awesome!
I need to look more into that
Tax free - £12500 in UK.
Nice !
Great video," I work for a company which I can put up to 80% of my income in the 401K plan and 5% matching but no dividens I think maybe use cash also CD"S for safety what do you think love your advice😊😊
That’s a good company set up !
Nice
Hi. I know you’re not a financial advisor but what would you invest in to get 6% ?
@@PaulMartin-ut9lj great question
I will talk about my investments ok?
I diversify into metals, pharma, REITs, energy, transportation, and others
Here are examples
ET, ENB, OKE, LYB, DOW, RIO, SBLK, PFE, O, ABR
I give more on investing videos :-)
Diversify and having a rental property is not a bad thing also :-)
@@RetireandGo I’ve seen them and they are very interesting. Do you invest in ETF’s as well as individual stocks?
Up to 40k on dividends not taxed-that makes them much more attractive.
Yes for sure
That’s a good retirement set up
very good. As I heard, is chiangmai really cheaper than pattaya?
Everywhere is cheaper than BKK. Pattaya is similar.
I think the prices I have found have been really good for sure
A good hotel in Thailand can cost less than 50 bucks a night. So who hast the better economy, USA or Thailand?

Freedom is just another word for nothin' left to lose. - Janis Joplin
Freedom to me is not having anyone telling me what to do while living comfortably and doing what I want.
As you mentioned: investing is a big part of that strategy.
Another great video. Thank you.
Song was written by Kris Kristofferson but Janis had the vocals to propel it.
I love that line thank you
How do you treat yourself?

Being A sexual has its perks. I have no sexual attraction to others. I don't want kids at my age now and I enjoy my solo life. It's not for everyone but it works for me.
Haha
I do like my solo time
It gets lonely sometimes

Self invest for lower fees. Don t pay a broker their “cut”!
Totally agree!
I think you're confusing tax brackets with standard deduction. $14600 in deduction relates to your expenses not your income.
@@lustgartenthis is from the IRS: The standard deduction reduces a taxpayer’s taxable income by a set amount determined by the government.
The first 14,600 you earn is not taxable
It’s tax free :-)
It has nothing to do with expenses
@@RetireandGo sorry but that's not really true. For the vast majority of tax filers, the standard deduction is the way to go.
“Generally, taxpayers whose total itemized deductions are less than the standard deduction (based on their filing status) will benefit from taking the standard deduction. However, if the taxpayer’s total itemized deductions are greater than their standard deduction, they must itemize,” says Kathy Pickering, chief tax officer at H&R Block... thus if you have itemized expenses that exceed $14000 as many property owners have the standard deduction would not be effective.
@@lustgarten all good :-)
Have a good day ok?
Interesting...... though I can't agree with your point of view of " True Freedom " there is no such thing as " True Freedom "!! You may be " Stress Free "" , though being " Stress Free " doesn't equal " True Freedom " .

Hey I’ll take it haha
Have a nice weekend!
Oh, and that burrito? 19 Australian dollars for one, 38 for two, just at the local fast food franchise, it truly is disgusting what we pay in Western countries.....10% tax included, tax on your income, then taxed again for foid, then taxed again for fuell, then taxed again for electricity, then taxed again for water, then taxed again for your local rates, then at the end of financial year.....let's see if you paid enough tax while you pay your accountant to figure that out which presents another bill because of him with, you guessed it, tax attached to it, farkin insane....😮
I agree
