Great video, was wondering what your set up was ie. rod tc, main line, run rig or bolt rig? Thanks Mike
Mr RFF just found you channel a couple of days ago and have been working my way through your videos in the evenings after work. They are fantastic, brilliant variety and well filmed and edited, they have even got my step daughter asking to come fishing next time I go! Hats off to you and keep up the good work!
This was epic to watch!! Some great fishing
hey what rod do you use, lb ?😊
Having inherited a lot of fly rods and equipment but only ever been coarse fishing this video has inspired me to get out and have a go when the trout season starts. It looks like I'll have to be patient. Thank you!
Love the channel, keep it coming.
Nice mate! Just one thing I always recommend, use a lighter float. Pike are always looking out for tension and even if you have your float weighted out it still needs to pull that weight and that 35g float under. I used to use the exact same float but now I have switched to the one that is 15g
Congratulations on catching that beautiful Grayling! 🔥😍 Great watch mate!
was that day ticket
just found you. lovely attitude great video. they dont need to be 6lb
Really enjoying your videos, nice easy watch 👍
Brilliant sunshine Brilliant .
Lovely way to fish mate... well done. Great days fishing there! 👍
is this near central York or out towards strensall
Only just seen this, looks like you did well, roach nearly always come on feed after dark. Well done. However this just illustrates how much the Wensum has changed, for the worst. I used to fish it regularly in the late 1950s and a1lb roach was very common, you'd certainly catch several each time you went and would expect a 2lb one to come up fairly often as well. We always used bread for catching roach, they love it, unless you produced your own you couldn't get maggots. Tight lines and good luck.
With a 35g float, how much gram of weight ?
25g probs
@@sambailey-z9xnoo closer to 30 unless you want to put a giant deadbait under your bobber
Really enjoyed the video, but i do wish you weren't advertising the grayling. They are a very tiny, vunerable and incredibly rare population and it wouldnt take too many idiots to ruin it.
Brilliant session, lovely barbel really enjoy your videos 👍
Are you still doing much Perch lure fishing? Would you mind saying which river you're on in this one? Got a bit and a miss on the Foss lately but not having much luck since!
Beat me, I completely blanked fishing for chub yesterday, same tactics, small river. Nice fish!
Not fished a river/stream in about 3yrs. Back out for chub tomorrow though , can't wait.
That's an old John Wilson Avon quiver with a sliding reel seat....I've still got one but not used it for years....Good versatile rods.... Excellent sessions and the dog seemed alright.....
I've still got a JW Avon Quiver, about 20yrs old, 1st quiver i ever bought. Same as you, i haven't used it in years but just got it out for tomorrow.
Good to see u back ! Have u not been fishing much lately, tess looks like he / she is enjoying life! Look forward to your next video Cheers.🐶
Cheers! I have been out a bit but not had time to edit videos, quite a few to get through now.
Nice sharing👍👍👍🎣🎣
Great video 👏. Good effort with the fishing too, great stuff 🎣.
Nice video, love fishing new small streams on the fly. Keep making the videos 👍
Cheers!
Very nice fish. Spiders are often best fished in the tail of the pools rather than in the pool.
I have been playing around fishing a few wet flies, still working out how they fish best. This was the first luck I had!
@@riverfossfishing It's a skilled pastime wet fly fishing especially detecting bites.
love fishing these type of tiny streams, got a few near me. seems like ur pretty close from me from the moorland road at 0:38!! great video aswell some lovely fish
Cheers pal!
Lovely Chub for that stretch 👍
Great video man🎣👏
Thanks for watching
Is it Yorkshire river?
Your certainly getting the hang of this dry fly lark. The Nidd is one of my favourite rivers for losing a day and wandering with the dry fly.
Yes indeed, I probably only put out a small fraction of my fly fishing session as videos as they are not so popular on my channel. I find them the most fun to make however!
@@riverfossfishing Yeah fly-fishing can be a bit neash, i appreciate your videos on it as fly-fishing is about all i do nowadays apart from the odd foray spinning for Salmon and Sea Trout. If your really getting into fly-fishing consider Nidderdale Angling club, also consider one of the Tees club, they have miles of water cheep as chips and some of the best fly-fishing you could wish for, and they are only a hour away for us Yorkies.
Great video, some lovely fish, it's funny how structure always seem to hold fish. It's always worthwhile whatever the weather when you get a nice bag of fish like that but making it home dry is definitely a bonus!
Thanks! I think on this bit it's the depth that draws fish. I've had good ones from all the deeper pools.
Some cracking trout for that stretch. That bridge pool used to be full of little 5-6" fish. It's nice to see they've grown up.
I've only ever seen small ones there before hence swapping to a small fly. I was a bit surprised when a big one popped up!
Good fishing and a nice trout 👍
Cheers, a few nice ones on this river.
Ah the hole in wader problem, the trick is to make a bigger hole to let the water out again! Some lovely marked trout from a stunning location.
I wish you’d say which rivers you were fishing
Nice video, well done. Resting barbel is always a worry - they give so much in the fight, sometimes they take forever. Agree with previous comments, keep their heads up.
Where abouts is this? YDAA waters are so hard to find good spots on, they are also completely overgrown and uncared for. The hardest part about YDAA waters is finding parking.
Hello, great video. What kind of fishing rod is that please? Thank you.
It's a korum omega float rod.
Nice words in this - well said. Always enjoy your videos 👍
Appreciated!
Looks a stunning little river, theres so many wonderful options within a hours drive for us yorkies, my favorite fishing is walking a beat looking for rising fish for the dry fly.
Fly fishing is quickly becoming my favourite method of fishing. As you say nothing like stalking a rising fish and trying to get it to eat your fly!
There's always a bridge trout, Four nice trout landed. Two lost. Not a bad ratio. Well done.
Can't complain, trout seems to have a way to slip off even the most positive hook set!
@@riverfossfishing They do.
I got one of them rate. Rod.
Great video 👌Cracking little stretch that great for trotting with the pin.
Glad you enjoyed it
looks like a p.b my lad 🤣🤣👍👍😁🫤
Aye will take some beating 😂🤙🏼
Nice video, if you don’t mind me asking which bite alarms are you using
These are actually korun rod rests that just look like bite alarms. I just watch the tips when barbel fishing small rivers.
Your videos are great. I really enjoy watching your videos. Wishing you lots of health and success
Thanks pal, and you!
You actually missed the best part.... the bream on the Ouse feed much better after dark.
Unfortunately I also get hungry at tea time!
The reel doesn't sound right
