Please go to mailchi.mp/4ba412a7d91d/howtosmokeapipeandlookgooddoingit to get the FREE eBook "How to smoke a pipe (and look good doing it)" and get access to the rest of the videos in this series. I’ve never met anyone who didn’t think pipe smoking was awesome. Admittedly, I don’t meet THAT many people, but still...you’d expect it to happen at least once. Often, smoking with a beer at the pub, ...

Brier
Just rustic 😅
I know the last video you uploaded was 4 years ago, but it would be great to see how you do the chamber bit
Nice. Very useful.
Are you able to sell me some
put speed of video up to 1.5.. becomes normal speed.
Jared, what buffing wheels do you use? Yours seem to be much softer and flexible than those that I am using from PSI?
Edifying?
Thanks for sharing interesting
Great video mate All my pipes are briar minus two Keep piping 👌
Thanks for you tips on smooth pipes. How to you achieve a shine on your rusticated and sandblasted finishes? Do you use shellac?
Nothing like a Bic to accent some aged tobacco
Hey Jared, thanks for the video. I'm looking for some advice. I'm thinking of starting out into the the pipemaking game. I've been doing lots of research for the last while. What I kind of budget would it take to get started? Cheers!
Hi Jared, love your informative and relaxing videos. I was wondering which English tobacco you are smoking in this video that you enjoy so much?
Thank you so much! Always informative and educational! I feel like I'm one step closer to start making my own pipes!
Thanks for sharing your perspectives and philosophy! It's great to listen to!
Great video, Jared, and I've enjoyed your others. You have great craft technique, style, and philosophy to share. I've been watching a ton of pipe making videos and though it doesn't look like yours are getting as much traffic as some of the others, you are doing some top notch stuff, and your videos are excellent, better than most of the other stuff I've watched. I hope you have the time and motivation to make and post more here. I know your audience will continue to grow.
Can you do a stain video?
is there any new videos coming? been almost 2 years now....
cant tell if high or not. his words seem to be more
Very nice video. Congratulations.
Hello guys. Can anyone give me information about how I can import briar to brazil?
Ha ,this guy reminds me of a student making a report on material he obviously hasn't read!
nailed it.
Pretty sure he's stoned 🤔
"Always use matches." Oops!
I find it much more convenient to evaluate the grain structure in three dimensions on the block very carefully and then drill the connections in correct size. Then I have no problems to form the pipe within a limited 3D.
What is the stem matter called,?
Ebonite
@@kadeshswanson3991 Thanck you.Did you know my greath grand father was a famus pipe maker in Malta, l even inherted the factoury were hopefully l will be making both ceramic and wooden pipes to.
@@crazyoldhippieguy that's pretty cool!
How much is your pipes
Killer video man, you are very knowledgeable! Thank you
Really nice job.. Really sold the mushroom look.
Jared, Apple is looking for a marketing expert...lol couldn't agree more, as a result we are becoming an anti social society.... : ( sad!
ty Jared...
talked me into it..I'll become a pipe maker, em mm 65 years old, maybe not so quick...the lathe behind you would absorb my lifetime budget for your pipes...Nahhhh, I'll just continue to buy your pipes...stay well my ex O.C. friend.
your pipe is the best pipe for me, just like your able to articulate the addiction process. Albert Einstein didn't use his cell much but sure loved his pipe....point made!
the Smooth Acorn is a stunner....
What size is that Craftsman lathe?
Hey Jared.. Needing more videos!!!! If you could do an in depth video on Shank/stem adornments that would be great. I saw the ones you did, but a "real time" step by step is something I've been looking for for a while now. Keep it up!
Do you Sandblast Estate pipes?
Jared please tell me, how many revolutions per minute does the disc have on your video?
My disc spins at 3600 rpm, but that is a little fast. 1700 will do just as well.
@@jaredcoles2589 Thanks for the quick response, Jared. I think the 3600 is not a little fast, yesterday I tried to train on a pine and the disk almost immediately got clogged with dust and burned, at 2500 rpm. But today I was sharpening some kind of exotic tree, so heavy that it does not even float, but it immediately sinks and at 950 rpm it was not bad.
I love the content but I have to skip the first four min of every video because every one is just the same speech about phones:/
Solid video. Great info. Keep it up.
Thank you jared you are awesome
Thank you jerod for a great video You are so right about being on social media and getting locked into our phone we all need to step away from our phone more
Very cool. I'm getting more immersed in this world, so getting a better understanding of why grain and such are important is very informative. Thankfully, I work nearby Iwan Ries so I go there 1x/week during a lunch break and chat with the guys, but getting a perspective from this video about artisan pipes is super neat.
your pipes are tremendous my man!
Thanks for the video, planning to try a pipe for the first time, now collecting information before buying one!
Wow! That’s an absolute stunner!! Well done!
Jared, I really love the pipes featured in this video. I've watched all your videos and have learned a lot about the way you approach pipemaking- thank you. Just signed up for the ebook as well. I was wondering if you might do some videos on the lesser discussed aspects of pipemaking for the beginner/intermediate maker, such as shank facing, stem shaping, integral vs. floating tenons, and buffing/polishing... without giving away any secrets of course ;) I hope to hear from you soon! ~ Rob in Colorado
That is a stunning pipe. good fun to hear about and see the process.
Hi Jared. This is Zac's dad. Zac was home to Michigan for the Christmas holiday and brought his rose pipe with him. We shared several bowls of good tobacco together. You do very nice work and I've enjoyed watching the videos of all the pipes you've carved for my boy. Blessings be upon you in the new year. M.J.
Funny you say airflow with tamping. A conversation with Joe lankford revealed that some of the old high grades had really open draw from a larger air hole. Tamping was the method in which to regulate the draw.
