Very cool. I'm getting more immersed in this world, so getting a better understanding of why grain and such are important is very informative. Thankfully, I work nearby Iwan Ries so I go there 1x/week during a lunch break and chat with the guys, but getting a perspective from this video about artisan pipes is super neat.
Gorgeous video, this is the second such blowfish, which I found on youtube. Thank you so much! Does anyone have a video on how to drill holes in such pipes?
@@jaredcoles2589 Thanks for the quick response, Jared. I think the 3600 is not a little fast, yesterday I tried to train on a pine and the disk almost immediately got clogged with dust and burned, at 2500 rpm. But today I was sharpening some kind of exotic tree, so heavy that it does not even float, but it immediately sinks and at 950 rpm it was not bad.

Wow, so informative and helpful-thank you! I would love to see the shaping in real time. Cheers!
Excellent video, so glad I subscribed !!
The shaping with live narration was really fascinating to see. Thanks for doing this video!
Jared, sorry for the question, is there a photo of this pipe in finished form?
I'm sorry, there is not.
Jared please tell me, how many revolutions per minute does the disc have on your video?
My disc spins at 3600 rpm, but that is a little fast. 1700 will do just as well.
