Hi Jared. This is Zac's dad. Zac was home to Michigan for the Christmas holiday and brought his rose pipe with him. We shared several bowls of good tobacco together. You do very nice work and I've enjoyed watching the videos of all the pipes you've carved for my boy. Blessings be upon you in the new year. M.J.
Hey Jared.. Needing more videos!!!! If you could do an in depth video on Shank/stem adornments that would be great. I saw the ones you did, but a "real time" step by step is something I've been looking for for a while now. Keep it up!
Jared, I really love the pipes featured in this video. I've watched all your videos and have learned a lot about the way you approach pipemaking- thank you. Just signed up for the ebook as well. I was wondering if you might do some videos on the lesser discussed aspects of pipemaking for the beginner/intermediate maker, such as shank facing, stem shaping, integral vs. floating tenons, and buffing/polishing... without giving away any secrets of course ;) I hope to hear from you soon! ~ Rob in Colorado
Funny you say airflow with tamping. A conversation with Joe lankford revealed that some of the old high grades had really open draw from a larger air hole. Tamping was the method in which to regulate the draw.
Hi, Jared. We had an email exchange prior to the holidays. I met Zach at the December Fresno Pipe Club meeting. I think a nice time was had by all. Maybe see you at the next meeting? As Gonzalo noted, gorgeous pipes! Thanks for the video!
