We test and then compare tires very deeply. And we are starting things here with All Terrain tires for now.
Although all tires are compared on our website in detail, we felt the need to educated people more and that was only possible with video visuals.

NEW Goodyear DuraTrac RT vs NEW BF Goodrich KO3
Odd that the Falken AT4W were barely mentioned in the video when according to their own tests, they were better in almost every category except snow and ice.
They compared it with previous version at3w
Just worried about the balancing and longevity of these. Ive been running general atx ,there good but need a better tire for wet roads ,snowy roads and dont really want the falken at3 or at4 because they dont look aggressive at all in my opinion.
Well to tell you the truth Grabber ATX do last longer, but considering performance Baja Boss is better especially when it comes to snow performance
Mine develop flat spots after sitting over night causing bad vibration until they warm up after driving for a while. Really disappointed. Should of known better with american brand junk. Wish I would of got the falken at4.
If u r just driving on the road idk why people r even getting a these type tires to begin with . Just get the boring Firestone and get better mpg
@ What kind of un smart thinking is that? Everyone that has AT tires drive on roads. This is not a mud tire. Good lord what a brain u have.
Must be a manufacturing fault
@ Ya. I talked to a guy at mickey thompson about it and all he said was” Thats weird”
1/10 to 2/10th of a second difference in Dry Handling isn’t enough of a margin to sell it
Yes but its averaged looking at multiple sizes Baja boss does noticeably better with p metric sizes
Nitto Terra Grappler G3 vs Baja Boss?🤔
Baja boss at
I just bought these 4 days ago. I went up from 275/65/20 Duratrac's to these in a 285/65/20. Mileage went down 3 mpg. I will be getting another custom tune to correct the shift points. I drove in rain yesterday and today and the performed really good. I have a 2011 Ram with long tube headers, cat delete, custom tune, stall converter (3400 rpm) and a big custom grind cam. Even with all that extra power these tires stick to the ground when taking off in the rain. I had them balanced only once at Discount tire and there balanced at 85 mph. Ill give an update when we get snow here in N.E. Wisconsin
O you’re going to love them in snow ❄️
First winter with these tires in Canada and they're handling the cold, ice and snow quite well!
Yup they are simply awesome in snow ⛄️
Can’t wait to get these bad boys as my next tires
You’re going to love em
Awesome thanks for this comparison!
Thanks man
The nitto nomad just seems like the best in off road capability. Both are great tires in their own perspective road condition. In off road driving, the nomad is the better choice.
👍
Baja boss at has been the best I’ve ever owned. 7000 pound Denali and tow often. Took them off with 5/32 left out 18/32 and had 104k miles on them. Was great through rain, dry, mud, snow. Very impressed with them. Cooper stronghold at, kumho at, master craft at, Toyo at3s and a2s really can’t compete with the Baja boss at from my experience. The cooper stronghold is also loud and has a late response, doesn’t handle as well either. Pretty surprised at that.
We rated this tire, the best in it’s category
The stock Duratracs on my RAM Rebel werre awful on wetroads, and even worse when worn. Very hard for me to believe they are bettere than the Ko3. Any realworld performace feedback on rainy wet roads?
Yes we would be showing up values from now onwards on our videos
I have the non RT duratracs on my "22 Ram 1500. I have found wet road performance excellent (7k miles on my tires, LT version, load range C). The only time my tires have spun is when accelerating from a stop and the rear tires spin over a paint stripe at an intersection. I've also read the OEM tires from factory use a cheaper rubber compound compared to the same tire bought from a tire shop.
If I was in Midwest mabe defender 2. But in NE Ohio I’m not trusting anything less than CC2. Amazing tire for the area. Everyone has their tire that’s before them and mines CC2. Both amazing tires for what they’re designed for
💯
Pilot Sport 4S for the win. Have them on my HSV VF GTS that makes 1050 hp. They hook up when no problems when I go roll racing (50km/h rolling start) at a track.
Thanks for sharing mate
@@comparethetire No worries mate. I have a video on UA-cam (Shorts) showing a race if you're interested. Search: HSV VF GTS vs Nissan GT-R R35 at Roll Racing #16 at The Bend
It's funny, I hear a lot about how quiet the Cross Climate is. But I almost returned them for how noisy they are, I was shocked. I'm not kidding I think they're the loudest tire I've ever had ( not counting some E rated truck tires) I have them on a Lexus RX 350 F sport that's very quiet, maybe that's why I hear the the drowning sound. Honestly if they want so highly rated I'd get rid of them. Very disappointed
Actually a lot of the sizes used to have a cushioning layer above their cap plies which keeps the noise down They removed it to lower the weight in order to improve fuel economy
Which is quieter on high speeds?
Hard to say really… But they are both quieter for sure, comparing other standard touring all season tires.
@comparethetire Then I might go with continental because they're like $80 cheaper.
Good comparison! I owe instead of the cross climate said they are amazing tires in the wet and snow. But they definitely give me a hit of 3 to 4 miles per per gallon in fuel economy.
Yes fuel economy is not it’s one of the strongest suits.
I wonder which one gets better gas mileage
Defender 2
You should make a comparison between the NEW Geolandar A/T4 (G018) and the new BFGoodrich KO3
Okay noted
Thank you for the review
You’re welcome buddy
I have Conti, great tires
Yup
At3s are a far superior tire to the KO2s. The KO2s wear terribly, are noisy, terrible in wet, not as good on dry or sandy. Get the At3s, best AT tire I've ran.
Yea if you’re mostly staying on road AT3 is a better choice
Can tell you what I used the ko3 in around 8 inch of snow and it did amazing! In my rebel
Yes they are great in snow, better than ko2
Very hard decision. Guess the winner is the cheaper price
Guess so, check out our budget tires video as well.
I've been thinking of switching to the ko3 from my go15s on my FJ Cruiser. Just for looks mostly. But now I'm definitely having 2nd thoughts.
G015 is a good choice
Having duratrac rt put on my tacoma trd sport tomorrow. Will leave a review at a later date
Cool what size did you go with? I'm thing of getting 275 65 18 for my 2014 tacoma sport. But am debating going back to 285 65 18. I just don't like how 285 pulls you into highway grooves.
👍
Installed today seem to ride and handle fine
What did this guy get from BFG to make this vid?
It’s not sponsored
@ Thanks. Good to hear
This is the best video comparing the 2 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Thanks a lot
I have used both in most conditions. BFG for hard off road conditions because its stronger. The Geolander is better in most cases. On road its like a car tire, cheaper and lighter. I had 2 almost identical 4x4s at one point. one with Geolander and one with competition off road mud tires. The one on Geolanders could get to 90% of the places that the one on full muds could get. Unless you are in a area that needs a really tough tire, the Geolanders are better.
How about geolandar in snow?
@@konradwos2358 works really well unless 12"+ deep. If its really deep, Mud tires have and advantage.
Thanks for sharing
@@konradwos2358i have the g015 on a gx460. they work well in snow both on and off road. i have even towed in snow and it did great.
I like the Geolanders, but I’m concerned that the siping isn’t full-depth. Once the tires wear, the siping will be gone. I love the look of the KO3s, but I don’t drive off-road that much. I’m leaning Falken Rubitrek for my needs. I drive about 95% on streets and highways in dry, wet, and occasionally snowy conditions. Such a tough decision! Thanks for the great video!
ive got new mt 71 315 75 16 impressive grip on rocks but the tread depth is a rip off amd they also fretting on the edges after just 80 miles
I’ll look in to that. Thanks for sharing.
You forgot longevity?
We didn’t extensively work on that
The Crossclimate 2 is an excellent all season tyre. However it is a relatively old design tyre and more biased to snowy conditions. As other reputable tyre reviewers have stayed, two or three tyres now beat it in mixed conditions, especially when snow is a rarity - such as western Europe, etc.
Yes there are tires out there which do better.
I have the Toyo AT3 on my Pathfinder and previously had the BFG KO2 on my Ram 1500 and I think the Toyo is way better in snow and cold wet weather than the KO2 was. It’s noticeable on and off road even though the Ram was technically more off road capable.
Thanks for sharing
European Tire manufacturers are just outstandingly good...!👍
💯
made in mexico or malaysia
For people whining about "Noise!!! REEE!!!" or gas mileage or tire life, the tires will last plenty long and what's it worth to you NOT to total your car in the winter because you had sub-par winter tires on it? I cross a 9,300ft pass every week to work even in winter, and I wanted the very best all-season/all weather tires I could get, and after testing in the snowy mountains last weekend at almost 11,000ft, I'm sold on these CC2's (on a 2025 CR-V AWD EX) compared to the older/(better) Defender LTX M/S I had on my 2010 V6 AWD RAV4. They're that much better in the snow and even more so in the rain/standing water.
Thanks for sharing.
Great vid mate i am runing the Falken at3w on a mazda bt50 and love them is there any road nise with at4w thank u
Glad you liked it.
This guy forgot to say one thing….. I’ve run both on my Sierra 3500 Duramax. The AT3’s are a better tire. No question about it. The BF’s were good….for about 20,000 miles…..then so horrible I had to switch them out. I’m now on my second set of AT3 XLT. They’re a better tire….in every way. Quiet, smooth, grippy, run em low for off road (awesome), run the miles up on em, still quiet, still perform. Take my advice because there really is no comparison. I tried them both. The BF are great, for a few miles, but the AT3 are great, and stay great.
Thanks for sharing.
I am running standard DuraTrac tires currently. I had KO2s previously. With regard to wear and snow traction I believe for me I will go with DuraTrack RT for my Montana winters which feature plenty of snow and mud scenarios. I loved my KO2s and KO3 may be better still but that was in California when snow wasn't in the equasion but I did a lot of rock crawling. In fact there I went to mud terrain tires eventually for that purpose.
Glad you liked the all new Duratrac Rt.
I have the pinza at's .they are awesome!
Yes, they are pretty great.
Out of this entire list, the only ones that are worth the money are the Nexen and the Kumho. Idk how Laufenn Xfit or the Falken Rubitreks didn't make the list as they can be had for under $200 per tire for a full sized truck.
We covered other less known options.
Cant go wrong eiter way as far as traction is concerned. Ive had 2 sets of duratracs and 1 set of falken at3w on a ram 2500. The win goes to duratracs for mud/offroad traction, but i had problems with both sets when it came to maintaining balance and wearing out-of-round. The falkens were amazing on packed snow and wet roads, held balance and wore beautifully. I give the egde to the falken as the better tire for my needs on a hd truck. Now with the duratrac RT coming out maybe that will take care of the wear issues i experienced on a heavy truck.
Yes the wear issue is now fixed. Check out my video on Duratrac RT if you haven’t yet.
Lots of tires are good in deep snow irs the compact snow and icy highways is where I'd like to know which is better
Wildpeak is better on ice.
This is a poorly disguised ad for the Falken. The BF wins any real performance shootout against this tire and most others in it's class.
We are simply sharing our results. And we did mention that the bfg is the best on road oriented AT tire when it comes to winter performance and gravely road.
@@comparethetire You are being dishonest. Every one of your videos is a barely disguised ad for the Falken. There is no test data presented, no comparison times, etc. Just conjecture. For everyone looking at this video, I encourage you to browse for real tire tests. This is ad garbage. And Falken, you can do better than this.
@@comparethetire definitely seems like you preferred the BFGoodrich. Not sure what this person is talking about.
I’m curious about road noise. I assume the AT will be quietest, and the MT will be loudest, but what’s the difference between the XT and MT from the cab of the vehicle?
Actually both xt and at tires bring in very similar noise comfort, particularly in non lt sizes.
Which one is better for ice?
Hard to say, but Ko3 does slightly better in terms of braking.
A lot of the tires you showed should not be considered all terrain. A Mickey Thompson tire you missed is the Baja legend. Great tire.
Missed?
@comparethetire Didn't include, failed to show,
Its the first tire on the list.
@comparethetire the first tire is not the Baja legend EXP
The tire you should have included is Mickey Thompson Baja Legend EXP
I have a 2017 Toyota Highlander since early May 2017. The OEM Michelins were really good tires but I ran Michelin X Ice tires from early November until early April every winter. Both sets of tires were great but both were nearing the end of their tread depth ( three to four 32s ) in the Spring of 2021. Before I could take off the winter tires to run the original Michelin Lattitudes for the Summer, one tire received a slight damage to the belts? after hitting a pothole on the highway. This lead me to buy a set of Cross Climate 2s. I have nothing but good things to say about the Cross Climatesin both winter conditions and Summer rain conditions. Initially the tire appeared slightly noisier than the original Michelin Lattitude all seasons but that disappeared after a couple thousand kilometres and was never that bad. Fuel consumption went up very slightly until the tires had a half a yea4 or so on them the tire tread depth when new showed just under 11/32s on my depth gauge and now just over three years later they are still at just below around 8/32s. I don’t drive for Uber or something like that and have put on 40,000 kms since I put these on. I’m going to do one more winter and Summer ( this winter looks like it may be a little more wintery than the past couple which only had several snowy days but 15-25 days each of black ice). Next August I will assess the tread depth and if it’s below 6/32s I might buy a new set although I have no doubt these would do another light to medium winter at 5hat tread depth. Great tire and it actually performs really well in all seasons of the year ( it rains a lot here ).
Thanks for sharing this.
Glad to hear they handle well in rain, just an hour ago I r3ad they perform a little below par in that category
@ the CrossClimate or the CrossClimate 2s? The 2s improved in that category. There may be one or two tires that are better but most tests and ratings I’ve seen show the CrossClimate Climate 2s come out on top. Now a well worn down tire I don’t know how 5hat would be. It just so happens that we have another vehicle that we run Michelin Ice&Snow winters on from early Nov. to early April. They are perceivably better when there’s a lot of water on the road , but that’s not a tire you should run all yea4 round although you probably could.
Ive had ko2 and toyo rts and mts also i had the duratrac and duratrac was noisy and the toyo wss a hard tire to keep balanced id get the ko2 again for shore .
You can also check out Geolandar xat and Mickey baja boss at.
I have a 2020 CRV and have recently bought the CC2. After about 5000 miles they are some of my favorite tires I have ever owned. I live in South Carolina and we don’t get much snow but driving in the rain and in dry weather, they are smooth and quiet. So far I love them.
Glad to hear you’re enjoying the CC2s so far!
How does these tires stack up against Coopers AT Trail tire? Ty
Its complicated, but cooper is better on dry while falken does better on wet. Snow performance though is still better with Bfg
