I love all your videos Claire!
Hello from Beausejour Canada. I really enjoy your taste in knitwear. I am a 49 year old woman and boxy oversized raglans don’t appeal to me. Your knits are so pretty and interesting. Thank you for sharing. Plus I think the last colour block sweater looks perfect on you. It’s very eye catching and unique
Oh thank you! I have plans to change it again 😏
My goodness woman! You’re a knitting machine!😂 but it’s all so creative and beautiful! Love them all! Even the color block of the last one! But I understand when you say the difference in texture bothers you. I think it would bother me too. Thank you so much for sharing all of your work with us! It was so entertaining!❤
I’ve just ordered yarn to change the colour block jumper 😇 not sure when I will get to it.
That purple vest looked amazing on you. It’s your colour.
Oh thank you!
I can't believe how prolific and talented you are. What amazing knits! Happy nNew Year 🎊! Happy knitting 💚🧶🩷
Happy new year! Thank you that’s so kind.
You knit some beautiful garments in 2024! Thank you for sharing them all with us. (And for sharing your son, who makes me laugh with his funny faces....)
He keeps me entertained every day 😆
I still love Bendigo woollen mills, but I know what you mean. Their 'luxury' yarn is only about 24-25 micron, the name sets you up for disappointment. They had another type called 'whisper' which was softer, if they bring out more colours I'm keen to try it.
I have some 4ply I am going to give another go.
Just wondering if it is twisting by the way you wind off cone. May twist if working directly from cone. May twistbif when running from cone to ball winder the direction is backwards. Some people wind on ball winder then re - wind. Also if you have a swift you can run from cone to swift 50 to 100 gram break, place some ties. Remove from swift drap if twisting. Soak, wack, hang straight to dry. Then wind on ball winder correct direction and then knit from center of ball to prevent wrapping while knitting. You probably have done all those things being that you owned a Tayloring business. Would love if you have any suggestions on how to fix moth holes on knits that are in lace weight machine knitted cashmere. Clothes I purchased any years ago that were not properly stored :( My hand knits are always put away properly lesson learned!
Ah I didn't try anyone of those things :(
I ve so enjoyed all ur videos Claire you’re a beautiful knitter hope u enjoy Scotland I stay in Edinburgh the capital city
Thank you! I hope to go to the Woolly Good Gathering in Edinburgh next year.
@ when in Edinburgh I never hear about these exhibitions but hear from u tubers xx
The Södermalm is knitted top down. The pattern is available through the SA Public library - Libby app of digital copies of the Knitter.
That's right! I can't believe I forgot how I knitted it after only a couple of months.
😍Love it! Love your videos, your projects and your humor! I also had a yarn that twisted a lot from a Cone. Could not wear the shirt too. In the shop they told me, that this is a yarn, they call: "Everything except stockinette". So they recommended to hold it with another yarn or knit any kind of pattern like garter or lace or structure pattern. 😘
Great idea, I will try that next time. I have been avoiding buying cotton and silk from Wooly Yarn at the moment.
Such wonderful knits! Thanks so much for sharing them, and your prodigious skill, with us. Always lovely to see one of your videos 🤗
Thank you so much!
Wow, your knits, your style, i just found you, i can't wait till part two
Thank you! 😊 part 2 is out now.
So excited you’re coming to Scotland! I hope you have a wonderful time ❤
Can't wait!
Sodermalm (actually Södermalm with Swedish spelling) is also a district/city quarter of Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, so you are so right, it is very much inline with the IKEA-way of naming prpducts 😊. Thank you for this excellent review! You are so productive!
Thank you! I would love to go and visit Södermalm one day.
So glad to see you back. That was so fab 🥰 love the sodermalm and the tuck is great. Just looked at our library NSW doesn’t have it so I’m going to join QLD and when I go back to work over the border it’s on!!! New nickname for you 🧶 🐓 🤭😂 Thanks for the fun that was an epic binge 🥰 A professional video person I knew always works works off external drives. Her computer is basically empty and runs fast and she has dozens of hard drives dedicated to all her works 🤔
The Brisbane City Council Library also has Designer Knitting and Burda knits, which has lots of beautiful basic patterns too!
Love your red cardigan. ❤ I'm glad you're okay after the bike fall. 😬 Your Sodermalm looks really cool! 😎
I love the red cardigan too! I'm surprised the Sodermalm gets lots of attention in the comments, it was a spur of the moment cast on.
You are so talented ,I love all your knits 🧶 keep your channel going we look forward to seeing you and your knits
Thank you that's so kind!
Hi Clare, nice to see all your amazing projects 🤩 You really are the knitting queen (very befitting piece). ❤ I just loooove the Green Luxury Cardi- what a lucky friend to have you to knit it for them. Your son is adorable 🥰
Thank you so much! Even though it was a tough process, I really love the green cardi too.
I love ❤❤❤❤❤❤ all your makes. You’re son is so cute and loving 🥰 ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you :D
Hi Clare, so many beautiful knits, my favourite is the yellow jumper ,the colour really suits you. Great plane, he must have made it in record time ! Bridget R
Thank you! Yes he started building the LEGO set straight away when he opened it at 6am!
Omg girl! You are an amazing knitter! Happy to see you’re back! Thank you for sharing ❤
Thank you so much!
It was so great seeing your fantastic projects again! 🤩🧶
Thank you! 😊 Part 2 to come.
Thank you for your videos. Your knitting is beautiful. I love the variety of knits you make. You have very classic pieces and others that are wearable modern art. Thank you for inspiring me!
Thank you so much! Glad you like them.
Excellent job!
Thank you! Cheers!
Your son is hilarious! Cracks me up every time - thank him for the laughter.
I was just going to say the same thing!
He is an entertainer that's for sure.
Woow so many beautiful knits, I love your channel! Merry Christmas 🎄🤎
Thank you! You too!
So lovely to see you again! Have missed you! And so many lovely projects!!
Thank you so much! I can't believe I made so many this year.
you put me on so many new designers, so glad i found your channel!
Woah neon!!
Your vlog is so nice to watch thank you for sharing it on your Ravelry project page 😊 Can I ask you something on your fox scarf? I own the book in french and it's said to start to knit the body part first, then to knit the two front legs appart and to graft the stitches of those legs (still on the needles) to the body cast-on edge (which doest make sens to me as I'm used to graft two edges of waiting stitches (whith both edges still on their needles, not casted off) or two casted off sides, but not used to graft a waiting stitches edge with a cast-on side 🤔 I don't see any grafting/sewing area beetween your fox legs and face, can you confirm you started to knit the front legs first and after the final leg row, you casted-on new stitches for the body (with the legs still on your needles) and continue the knitting of everything ? 😶
I didn't do any grafting. I knitted the legs separately, then joined them together as I started knitting the body.
@@Clare_likes_to_knit Thank you very much, that's what I thought (why adding some sewing/grafting work when you can just cast-on the body stitches as you go 😁)
Great
Great informative video! Thank you
I love knitting dresses too ❤ Though I'm not sure what's the reason for knitting backwards...?
Sometimes when it’s a small amount of stitches like short row, it helps when I don’t have to keep turning the whole garment. It’s also useful for bobbles.
What a lovely icy blue jumper…..please share the pattern you have used; I Love it, so feminine
@@claudettepoirier4772 thank you! It’s Friday by Gregoria Fibers. I removed 2 pattern repeats in each sleeve.
Thank you for another lovely video, it’s amazing to see the process and result. Your expertise, experience and skill are amazing! I hope one day to have even a tiny percentage of your ability!
Thank you that’s too kind. You just gotta learn by trying.
Bravo it looks so good. I’m a sewer so I look at things through that lens too. Fix up the neckline and don’t even tell your mum and see if she notices 🤭
Haha she came over and saw it, then started plotting to steal it. When she saw I took in the side seams too so now she is sad she can’t wear it.
“I accidentally ordered sole yarn”… That’s so relatable! Since discovering the joys of spinning that has morphed into accidentally ordering spinning fibre to turn into yarn. The most recent acquisition has been 200 grams of gorgeous merino/silk/camel… to which a few weeks later I added another 200 grams. Because my daughter was eyeing it with envy and I absolutely want a garment or gossamer lace shawl in it for myself. It’s SO luxurious. So pretty. So soft. And… I really DID resist for several weeks before ordering that second batch. So now I have two stash categories: yarn and fibre. Well… yarn, processed fibre and raw, shorn but completely unprocessed fibre that I’ve either already washed or that still needs washing. Of course that means projects on my needles, projects on my wheel and bobbins, and projects-to-be-started because right now, they’re basically raw fleece.
Excellent work on your sweater surgery! 👏🏾 I really like your pink projects as well. 💗 Love the red cardigan! ❤️ Cute cable hats. 🧶
Thank you! They will come handy for my travels next week.
Great job🙌🏿. Great inspiration to go for it and not be 😧 😅
You can do it!
This is so interesting, I have never thought to alter my knitted garments like this.
Yes try it! Luckily it was a wooly yarn because this probably won’t work on a super wash.
This is so helpful Claire, I've got a sweater that it's too big and I've been procastinating fixing it becasue I wasn't sure how to do it but this video helped me a lot, thanks!!
I'm so glad! Let me know how you go.
@@Clare_likes_to_knit I will! 🙂
Oh! You are so brave!!! It paid off! The sweater looks amazing! Thank you for sharing this adventure!❤
Thanks for watching! I had fun doing the modifications.
Congratulations on your new job and your successful alterations.
Thank you so much!
Amazing surgery 😲 looks great 💙love your podcast 🩵
Thank you that’s so kind.
Love the result of your adjustment. And the Nora Gaughan cable jumper looks beautiful as do all your works. Good luck in your new job.
Thank you so much! I love them so much.
wow what a surgery! it looks great, i would be too scare for it.
If you’ve tried steeking, this is a piece of cake!
Clare, that was fascinating. What a beautiful garment. Do you think your mum will one day make an appearance? She sounds a fount of knowledge like her daughter. Love the hem and I’m going to use it myself
She has appeared in some videos but she doesn’t like talking on camera 🤗
Hope you can find some time I love ur podcasts
Your friend's cardigan is stunning. Good luck at your new job! Happy knitting 💚🧶💚
