“I accidentally ordered sole yarn”… That’s so relatable! Since discovering the joys of spinning that has morphed into accidentally ordering spinning fibre to turn into yarn. The most recent acquisition has been 200 grams of gorgeous merino/silk/camel… to which a few weeks later I added another 200 grams. Because my daughter was eyeing it with envy and I absolutely want a garment or gossamer lace shawl in it for myself. It’s SO luxurious. So pretty. So soft. And… I really DID resist for several weeks before ordering that second batch. So now I have two stash categories: yarn and fibre. Well… yarn, processed fibre and raw, shorn but completely unprocessed fibre that I’ve either already washed or that still needs washing. Of course that means projects on my needles, projects on my wheel and bobbins, and projects-to-be-started because right now, they’re basically raw fleece.
I love seeing what you’ve been up to Clare - I really like the designs you choose- and it was a treat to see your adorable mother ripping out your knitting with such amusement
Yes it makes the reverse side so much easier to keep a track of! They're usually bottom up, so by the time I get to armholes, I know the pattern well enough to knit back and forth.
Hello Clare, I have just discovered your lovely podcasts and I am enjoying them. Your knits are beautiful. I also live near Brisbane in Maleny, we are almost neighbours 😉❤
I accidentally ordered 6 new yarns...as one does! lol You have turned me onto Woolly yarn! Let me just put out there an issue I had with an order. I ordered a cone of yarn and they sent me the wrong color. I emailed them with the error. They are in Turkey, I am in Boston. I had a resolution with a new cone being delivered within 2 hours!! I rec'ed the yarn a week later! I cannot say enough about their product or customer service. If you have any reservations about ordering abroad...do not! They are amazing! Clare, thanks for another great episode
Wow that's such great service! I tracked my order everyday, it showed shipped but no updates once it reaches Australia. So it's always a lovely surprise when it shows up at my door.
I will be sad if you stop doing the more project-y vlogs, Clare, they're so enjoyable to watch - but you should definitely not do them if they're sapping your enjoyment in knitting. Your cast-ons are fearless and you're so speedy! I am many (many) sizes larger than you and am lucky to get through four garments in a year so it's vicarious pleasure for me, haha.
Your lacey projects are gorgeous! And I love your scrappy blanket! I'm also working on a mitered square scrappy blanket. Been working on mine for years! It's my neverending project! 😅
I totally relate to the struggle of filming vlogs while knitting. I've been there too ! I've made 3 summer tops, working on my fourth one and didn't have the energy to film each step. It breaks your knitting flow 😖 I'm planning to record a regular podcast for these tops and maybe come back to vlogs later when my knitting will slow down. Because summer tops are very quick to knit !
Apologies if I missed it or the I formation is elsewhere (just found your fabulous channel!), did anyone catch the name of the Corbis yarn? It sounds beautiful!
Sometimes I knit from the cone, but it's much easier if I wind it up into a ball first. Most of the yarn doesn't have any joins which is wonderful. Occasionally I find a knot, but it's rare.
Hello, thank you for the video.. could let me know the link for the online sale of your Woolyyarn cone... I went on their website but they don't look like they are selling from it... thank you very much
This is the website I order from www.woolyyarn.com/ A lot of the time once a colour is sold out, they don't restock it. I go back to their site regularly to see what's new 😳 They also have instagram and a youtube channel.
I don't read Japanese either. I use my Google Translate app and learned to read the schematics. Once you're used to how their patterns are laid out, you don't really need to know Japanes.

I love all your videos Claire!
Such beautful teal green yarn! I have same exact color in cashmere as a knitting plan for my mother. I really enjoy your podcast, thank you.
Wonderful! It's a very special green.
I love seeing what you’ve been up to Clare - I really like the designs you choose- and it was a treat to see your adorable mother ripping out your knitting with such amusement
Haha you are right, she LOVES to "help me" rip out my knitting.
Mom is super cute 🥰
G'day! Was excited to learn you are also an Aussie! All your works are beautiful!!!! Thank you for the podcast.
Thanks so much! 😊 Always great to meet other Aussie knitters.
So many beautiful makes. Love your knitting and your video.
I gasped at the gorgeous pink White Lacy (all of your wips are divine, but this one oh wow). Love your videos so much, thank you!
I looove the pink colour, just not sure if I will continue this lace pattern. I'll finish my TWO other Japanes lace tops and then decide.
I also really love this podcast style of video, it's always great to see when you've posted something new!
Yay, thank you! I think it's much more sustainable for me to do more of these type of podcasts.
Your knits are always so lovely! Happy knitting 💚🧶💚
Thank you! 😊
Your Au Revoir blouse is gorgeous! So delicate and fancy!
Oh thank you! I recommend you given it a try too, it was so fun to knit.
Love your knitting podcast! You are such an inspiration and I’m looking forward to the next podcast video.
🥰❤️🥰
Thank you so much!
Claire I have a Japanese charted pattern lined up and you've inspired me to convert the charted pattern to knit in the round! fingers crossed!
Yes it makes the reverse side so much easier to keep a track of! They're usually bottom up, so by the time I get to armholes, I know the pattern well enough to knit back and forth.
Oh, this is actually very cute story! I came with the idea that someone is stole your pattern, but this is such a pleasant turn!
Haha it wasn't sinister after all. I'm hoping to get it back but I think she is now reknitting it in her size.
@@Clare_likes_to_knit In both ways you will have shared project which is very special !😄💝

Your Sourcebook Fitted Pullover by Norah Gaughan is stunning! 🤩 Love the color.
Thank you! I loved making it.
I love how you "accidentally" purchased more yarn. I have the same accident-prone tendencies!
It's a hazard which happens way too often.

Your lacey projects are gorgeous! And I love your scrappy blanket! I'm also working on a mitered square scrappy blanket. Been working on mine for years! It's my neverending project! 😅
Haha Yes I imagine it will cover my entire sofa one day.
@@Clare_likes_to_knit I can totally imagine that happening with mine too! 😅

It’s a yarn from Wooly Yarn.com. 50% silk and 50%cashmerr.
❤
Hi Clare may I ask your do you get your yarn in cone no winding needed not to mention no need the join and knotted. Specially the silk . Thanks
