Alternatives Options to Dental Implants.

Everyone is not a candidate for implants. Therefore, if we do not want dental implants, the alternatives are, one, do nothing, that is, we live with the gap. Number two is we can do a partial denture, so a little plate that comes in and out. Number three is we if you have adjacent teeth on either side, we can do a bridge, which means we cut teeth on either side and put a fixed bridge in. All of these have problems. For example, if we do nothing, you might have issues chewing or if it's the front tooth, you wouldn't wanna smile.
If you do partial dentures, they're good that they're quite conservative and cheaper than implants, but unfortunately, some people never get used to the plates. As far as bridges are concerned, I personally am not a huge fan of bridges because we have to damage pretty much good teeth sometimes, on either side and if something fails in the future, instead of that one gap that you had, you might end up with three gaps. This is my opinion on it, but, yes, sometimes we have to go with the alternatives.

I think I have it because of allergies which cause my nose to be plugged up. So when I can't breathe I clench to get my mouth to open.
I have a missing molar on each side and want a partial denture but am hetting pushed to get implants. Why? People have been earing dentures forever, why aren't dentists recommending them?
Fully half of all lower dentures sit in a drawer. When you chew, food squirts to the sides of the teeth. You reflexly throw it back up on the teeth. Naturally, with food sticking to the lower denture, you throw it back up, too. Some people learn to hold the denture down with their tongue and cheeks, while maneuvering the food. The rest leave them out. They stink, for the most part. People would come in with a bag of dentures that they couldn't make work. I couldn't either.

It seems there is a link between titanium dental implants (allergy or metal toxicity) and autoimmune disease start according to academic research. Metal toxins are closely associated with the neuroendocrine system, or itching or urticaria. There are so many high-ranking academic articles on this topic (please search "Allergic contact dermatitis caused by titanium screws and dental implants"; "Metal allergy patient treated by titanium implant denture: A case report with at least 4-year follow-up".

I was hoping to hear at least a semi-plausible explanation as to why implants are so prohibitively and disproportionately expensive here in Australia, but after watching this I’m none the wiser. 50-90k is absurd for freaking teeth. It should be 20k max including any necessary grafting or sinus palate work. These are fake teeth. In some instances, yes it's elective. But some people have malabsorption, esophagus issues, and natural vitamin and mineral metabolism issues that isn't a person's fault. And these things aren't even permanent. An ankle transplant can cost the same as this. After all these years, people should have the right to coverage and reasonable pricing. Some people also have to take medication that can affect their dental health. Bogus.

This is just another gravy train for dentists, too many unscrupulous practices out there. They don't see you as a person in need, but a ticket to an opulent lifestyle for themselves. I have a metal allergy so not taking the risk. Seeing 3rd dentist, but this time I have found a diamond, as they construct Dentures themselves. Will either get partial Dentures or full. Best outcome, even through full will be a long learning curve with speech and eating.

I'm concerned about implant screws from China that look like standard wood screw thread. They are listed as titanium but look like stainless . They say FDA approved but I found out many electrical items that have a CE approval stickers are not Certified but instead China claims it stands for China export !

@@Elias-yx9gx I don't think a screw that only cost $2 or $3 could have been made from implant grade titanium and passed Certification . If the metal contains harmful impurities than they might leach out and kill people. Could this be a reason some people have a " allergic reaction" to titanium ? I think a program like 60 minutes or front line should investigate the titanium implant industry

I’m currently on the last stage of getting my front implant installed. I’ve had bone graft along with the six month wait and now I’m about three weeks away from getting my implant. However, while eating a salad a couple of days ago I accidentally bit down on a small piece of cucumber and something happened. The tooth doesn’t feel sturdy anymore. Seems to be a little loose. Did I just bust the whole procedure or did I just maybe break a post on my temporary tooth that will not matter when my permanent implant is installed. Thoughts?😩
