Переглядів 9492 роки тому
Its a sad day for the channel. I have decided to sell my tank 😞 I have lost all passion for the hobby and have decided it’s the best thing to do before I get to the point I don’t even want to test and maintain it. Below is a list of what will come with it and also I’ll put a link to my Instagram if you want to message me about buying it. This would be a cash / bank transfer on collection and I ...

    Hi Neil, new subscriber from Sydney Australia here mate. I just bought this test kit today and will be testing soon. What was the outcome of your tank after you finished dosing iodine? My helio fungia has closed up and Xenia shrivelling up, so I wonder if I’m also low on iodine. Great video mate! Hope your tank is not too small for your yellow tang though.

    I think it was the hermit crabs. But i did notice your sand grain size is huge. This type of fish is a sand sifter . If the grains are too big its painful to feed. He was probably weakend from not getting enough food through his gills and the hermit just took advantage.

    Hiya mate, I'm in same boat. Loosing interest, it's a difficult time wise and expensive hobby, lots of money goes down the drain just as quick as the old from a water change. I have aptasia in my tank ATM and I've spend hundreds trying to get rid of it and I've decided enoughs enough.. I'm going to be shutting my reefer 250 down after Xmas. Will start selling the livestock soon. I may get just a little fluval Evo just to keep the clowns for my little girl but that's it. Good luck mate in your future endeavours. Your channel has been a trip. Cheers.

      Thanks Neil. Sorry to hear about your tank mate. It’s a harsh money pit of a hobby we’re in and it takes it’s toll. That’s a good idea about the little Fluval Evo. I’d like to keep my clowns too. I just would the like freedom of being able to go on holiday again. Not been away properly since I set the tank up a few years ago. Aptaisia is a nightmare! Tried everything but got rid by adding 10+ Peppermint Shrimps

    All stunning fish! The next tank with have a yellow watchman goby. My number 1 has to be the Flame Red Scooter Blenny/Dragonet! 👌 I do wonder with the tangs, is it with wild caught they are always a few months older and filled out by the time we see them and the captive bred are up for sale as soon as they are eating dry/frozen which is why they seem skinny/pale just due to age? Nice work mate! 👍

    • @neilsreefaquarium9530
      @neilsreefaquarium9530 2 роки тому

      I love Scooter Blennys and would get one but they can out compete my Mandarin for food. That’s exactly what Shawn from the Ocean Project said. They are just older and have filled out. I’d like to see an adult Yellow tang. I’ve seen wild caught Clowns and they look unreal compared to captive bred ones

      @@neilsreefaquarium9530 yeah I had a brown/normal Blenny years ago and the LFS never mentioned much about being hard to keep, was the days of proper live rock though and did fine as I had loads of pods even without a refugium! Yeah that would be a cool to see a comparison of wild/captive tangs te see the difference? 🤔
