Changing Derby and Inspection Covers on Harley Davidson Sportster
I change the derby and chain inspection covers on my Harley Roadster 1200. This covers all Evo Sportster models as it hasn't changed in decades. I also do a couple of other cosmetic mods and this shows that simple and inexpensive changes can make a big difference. #harleydavidson #motorcycle #motorcycles #sportster1200 #losangeles

Harley Davidson Superlow 883 and a Talk with Matt Laidlaw

I explain why Harley Sportsters are iconic and have a talk with Matt Laidlaw at Laidlaw's Harley Davidson - the best Harley dealership in all of Southern CA and the oldest, largest dealership in the Los Angeles area. I'm specifically on the Superlow 883, but the best Sportster ever made (with the possible exception of the XR750) makes an appearance at the end (hint: sneak preview). #harley #har...

2022 Suzuki GSX-R 750 Oil and Filter Change
Переглядів 7 тис.Рік тому
This is the break-in oil and filter change for my 2022 GSX-R 750. It's very easy and I go step by step. The hardest part is removing the left fairing for access, but that's not really hard, either. I always recommend doing maintenance yourself as you'll save money and know it's done right. In the US, this will never hurt your warranty. #suzuki #motorcycle #motorcyclelife #losangeles

2018 Royal Enfield Classic 500 Review
have an 883 myself, first bike. Can't imagine getting rid of it, but can definitely imagine getting another bike! lol
I don’t know how you got on after your last video on the 500 Bullet. But here’s some help. The petcock seals are a rubber disc or cork bits set in rubber. If the material is not compatible with the fuel (unleaded?) then it can breakup and bits will randomly block and then open the fuel ways. Test by taking the pipe off the carb and open the tap to flow into a container. You need about 200ml/minute. Maybe all you have is a trickle. The loss of compression is worrying. Do you have adequate scavenge flow to the rockers? Check for that by loosening one of the feed pipes and the engine kicked over with plug out (you could do that running but that’ll make a mess). I have 2 of these bullets, one is indian and few years older than yours. That one has given me years of hassles but is coming right. You are so right, you have to fight it but what a joy when it runs. Cheers, ChrisD
I’ve been following this restoration and had a couple of questions for you. Are the Indian cranks not rebuildable? Also looked up Hitchcocks site for cranks and they did not list one for this vintage cast iron 350. Are the NLA?
What year is your bike?
@@Fast48-1 I ended up with the Roadster and it’s a 2018
@@Cyclingwithgasoline I've always loved the Roadsters! They remind me of the XRs!!
@ It’s definitely my favorite 1200. Somewhat of a XR1200 successor. I prefer mine even though the XR1200 does have more performance
Found this video on a HD forum and am very glad I did! Great job!
@@Fast48-1 Thanks and thanks for watching!
Did this very fine looking Bullet get sorted in the end ?
@@Mr-84 Yes and no. Needs a new carb as the jets just aren’t compatible with the OEM. Also needed a one way valve on the hose going from the breather box. It’s had it’s good and bad days, but I think it’s close to the finish line

HI, did you get a chance to install the Boyer ignition kit?
Just read in a past comment that you have installed the Boyer. Would be great if you could make a video of that or share some pics. Or talk more about it :-)
@@shashikiranjeppu8158 Hey, sorry for the late reply. I actually haven’t installed the Boyer yet. I’m about to replace the carb as the Indian one isn’t playing nice with the upgraded jets.
How many miles in between oil change?
Hello there! What's the name of the exhaust you're using? Looks slim and beautiful with a decent sound.

As long as nobody lies and says "efi isnt resistant to EMP", Im fine with listening to anything. For folks who don't know... EMP effects things based on the length/thickness of wires. Like an antenna. You cellphone, car, radio, desktop PC, gaming console... as long as they aren't plugged into the grid... theyre literally immune to EMP. You need MILES of thick cables before a device even CAN be effected by EMP. But that won't stop internet apocalyptards from inserting their nonsensical bs into any conversation about analogue vs electrical.
What’s the name and size of the wrench to tighten?
@@gruhnchris I’m not sure of a specific size. It’s just a large hub Ducati chain adjuster specific to this and comparable models like the Panigale V4. I think I got it from BellissiMoto. However, a lot of large “generic” wrenches for single sided swingarms should also work. A lot are out there from eBay to Motomillion.com and so on.
Fi is better than old model carburettor as long as the battery and the ecu is working .
@@Musliperanto Modern FI is definitely better, but carbs have such an organic feel that you can’t really replicate with modern FI systems and ECUs. That said, a single carb is much easier to deal with than multiple ones
@@Cyclingwithgasoline yes thats 👍
i have the same bike same color but without ABS bought it in 2018 i have replaced my mirror with touring mirrors from RE, till 80kmph the shake is very nominal as compared to the stock ones, but they do vibrate post 80kmph and are unusable beyond that mark.
@@Bijay.Kumar.Behera Yeah, the bike vibrates a lot and is a little rough around the edges, but it’s worth it for such an old school experience
10:16 Next time, skip one Bagel Sandwich, and get yourself a Torque Wrench...🙄🙄
@@elithegreat6463 I don’t need no stink’n torque wrench 😂. And I have two, but they’re not necessary for this application if you have experience doing this kind of thing
@@Cyclingwithgasoline I get what you’re saying, but for any neophyte watching your videos, you don’t even mention or suggest a Torque wrench or specs, especially with the Ducati Magnesium pan. I been riding over 40 yrs, and on my 32nd Bike in my lifetime. I guarantee some heavy handed idiot will over tighten such a drain plug, wheee a $60 oil change will cost them $2000+😮 I’m on the fence of trading my Triumph Rocket-3 🚀 for a V4S, that how I found your channel. 👍
@@elithegreat6463 Yes, there are definitely heavy handed amateurs out there. I’ve seen it first hand. I did explain that it’s magnesium and care needs to be taken. Snug, but NOT too tight and I demonstrated. I find torque specs can be a double edged sword at times with them being listed higher than necessary and even potentially dangerous as far as damaging the pan, threads, etc. Hopefully my demo is adequate and I’m always happy to answer questions from viewers. AND, I can’t even find a reliable torque spec for it. The best I can run down is 20Nm for the drain plug, but I’ve seen it listed as high as 40Nm - again, these discrepancies can do more harm than good. Oh, and I’ll add that the V4 is more fun than the Rocket 3 for sure. I’ve ridden the Triumph and it’s an amazing package of engineering, but unless you cruise a lot on the highway, the Ducati will give you so much more.
@@Cyclingwithgasoline My Rocket sure draws a crowd, people see it, and first think it's a 6-cylinder ,and just love looking at it. It rides great, there's enough torque to stop the rotation of the planet. I have a 2024 Tiger 900=GT-Pro as well, and I just need something sporty, so the V4 is on the top of my list, to balance the GT-Pro figure if i'm going to replace a Beast like the Rocket, might as well get an equally amazing Bike like the V4. I'm 62 but feel 32, so a Sporty ride is still in my Blood. Be well, and Ride Safe
@@elithegreat6463 Few bikes have the street presence of that Triumph. And yes, enough torque to rotate the planet 😂. Sounds like you have a solid plan. I can’t recommend the V4 enough. Two wheels on the ground bro. I recently turned 50 and will never stop riding.
I rode an EFI bike once and many carb bikes, and I'd say that EFI works much smoother at all range of RPM. According to the video, I'd say buy an EFI bike if you don't want to tinker with it.
Bro im getting same bike 2018 for $1000 20000km driven should i buy it ?
@@tusharx2008 That’s a low price for the bike and the mileage isn’t too bad. What kind of shape is it in overall? I would think there were some issues at just $1,000. If it’s a solid bike with no real problems, it’s a great deal for sure
So many fallicies here. Changing carb jetting on a multi-carb bike is neither cheap or particularly easy. And God help you if you mess up the settings or your jets are a tiny bit out of spec because you are going to be buying a synchronizer. I can drain the tank on my injected bike in exactly the same way that I can on my carburated bike. And finally, you do have a point about the kickstarter. Of course I can throw a small jump pack in my saddlebag to give me backup for a dead battery. Nothing wrong with carburators, but, I'll take EFI any day of the week.
@@matthayse8284 EFI is objectively better, no question. And I was admittedly referring to a single carb bike. For me, when everything is working well, there’s nothing like a carbureted bike. Just such an organic feel.
Already learnt so much. Thats for sharing.
@@hmsdauntless Thanks for watching 👍
Years using my bike happens to have efi left it out a long while, thrown around, and ridden through floods, zero problems with it, never fiddled with it, same fuel efficiency and performance as i first bought it, modern fuel injection is just way too reliable, maybe its credit to the battery but idk.

Have you ridden a Kawasaki W800? They have character with a 360 degree crank air cooled twin just like the old BSA, Norton and Triumph bikes. They will cruise at 75mph all day. They have a long stroke engine with lots of low end torque. They are not sports bike fast but they have a torque delivery that makes them a joy to ride on normal roads and traffic. At 70 years old it is the perfect bike for the riding that I do and being a Kawasaki they have excellent build quality and reliability. It's an old school air cooled machine with just enough modern technology to make them easy to own. BJ
@@Bob-xc2us I have ridden it many times. Among the last of the modern “old school” bikes. Much different than a triumph bonneville, for example. The now retired Harley Evo Sportsters were also great examples of this. The new Royal Enfield singles and twins are also in the same ballpark, although I wish they maintained the kick starter.
