Great video about a great bike. Good to see you back. I started watching your Royal Enfield restoration a year or so ago, looking forward to seeing it finished.
So awesome to see you back bro! Great video! Super knowledgeable of bikes, that's for sure. "It's an entirely different kind of flying, all together". Haha Great analogies.
Evel was cool, but Cal Rayborn was way cooler. 265mph on a hopped up Sportster engined bullet 🙂I saw him race all beaten up and in a plaster cast in the Transatlantic Trophy in the 70's - he won both races at Oulton Park and became instant hero. Love my 2000 1200S - cant go wrong with an XL.
@@stup1299 He was definitely a badass and among the best racers at the time! Reminds me of Chuck Yeager who broke the sound barrier with broken ribs. Evel was the coolest for me as I wasn’t really watching racing when I was that young, but I WAS watching these jumps. And you really can’t go wrong with the 1200s. Your 2000 sounds awesome 👍
@@martincvitkovich724 I agree on that. I’m all about old school gauges and lights. But, I do hear a lot of complaints about non-LED lights, so I wanted to address it 👍
Found this video on a HD forum and am very glad I did! Great job!
@@Fast48-1 Thanks and thanks for watching!
Great to see you back 👍 Got very happy memories of my first ever Harley, a '79 Ironhead Sportster. Looking forward to seeing the Enfield!
@@WOLFIE-96B-UK Thanks for watching and the Enfield is coming soon! The Ironhead models were super cool. And yours was from the AMF era!
Great video. Thanks again Erik!

@@leaveittobaker Thanks bro. I thought you’d appreciate the Airplane reference 😂
New sub! Sportster fan here as well, congrats on your new bike😎
@@Heritagejim5339 Thanks and thanks for subscribing! A lot of cool Sportster content is coming
have an 883 myself, first bike. Can't imagine getting rid of it, but can definitely imagine getting another bike! lol
Very nice video. What year is the sportster?
@@SurferDoodsSC Thanks for watching! It’s a 2017
What year is your bike?
@@Fast48-1 I ended up with the Roadster and it’s a 2018
@@Cyclingwithgasoline I've always loved the Roadsters! They remind me of the XRs!!
@ It’s definitely my favorite 1200. Somewhat of a XR1200 successor. I prefer mine even though the XR1200 does have more performance
How’s the bullet?
@@benrobertson7855 It’s getting close. Needed a new carb and a specific valve for the tube I routed from the breather box.

Lights; don't need LEDs. When I started riding in the 1960's the BSA Triumphs all had 6 volt bulbs.
