I got respect for eppiphone I have a few and I have gotten deals on used /sales /closeout specials and hope the Oasis Les Paul goes for six figures plus low budget guitar to a great iconic piece of rock history cool back story Noel gave it as a gift to one his friends and now its for sale for what I hope is mega bucks.

Check out the Tease Guitars ST-2! Remarkable! Most of the affordable guitars offered are hit and miss as far as quality control and most need a set up which defeats the “ affordable “ category when you factor in the $80 cost of a set up. The Tease guitar Strat style needed nothing, even the intonation was dead on all for less than $200!

I have a squier affinity 2010 made in Indonesia ..beautiful guitar ..my guitar playing friends comment on it when they play it ..they love it . They arent cheap here in Australia

I had an affinity form 2004. best neck ever. sadly the body is thinner so it's difficult to replace the trem for a better one

That's CNC machining for you. It makes things repeatable and way cheaper.

Great topic. I break the guitar market into several parts: Entry level, Player/hobby grade, Professional, Collector of modern high end limited releases, and Vintage collectors for those classic guitars. Of course there is bleedover between those buckets and it's somewhat subjective, but I think folks get the general idea. All have different markets and to some extent economic cycles. Like with choosing restaurants, if in the current economy, one feels uncomfortable spending $100-$150 per person at Morton's or Ruth Chris steakhouse, they may choose $50 per person at Outback, Texas Roadhouse or similar. But the person that spends $500 to $1000 for an A5 grade Kobe steak at a world class restaurant probably won't go to Morton's or Ruth Chris. They'll still go to the high end restaurant and simply select a different offering. The economy is relatively easy to figure out on the micro level, but so much more complex on a macro level. All I know is if I see a really good deal on a guitar that I like I'll still get it, but I currently ain't going out of my way looking at the moment. Instead I have shifted my purchases on tool deals from StewMac when they have sales and it seems I've scored good deals on quality parts lately.

I think inflation is a huge part of it. The latest charts show that non-discretionary items have taken a major hit. With prices so high on most everything, people are only going to spend on the stuff they absolutely need.

Greco great build quality much better than gibsons built in the 70s and they are a much better deal price wise.

Great amp I loaded mine with a celestion blue. Pulled the cheap tubes out dropped in quality ecc83s and the power tube went to a Reflektor 6p14p k series. Made a two piece open back panel and now have an excellent recording and mic'd stage amp.

get a white, black or sunburst mexican fender stratocaster that is used from a private sale. can't lose a dime on it. a used fender mustang amp, can't go wrong, it's got a tuner and all the effects!

I had a '77 black Custom by Greco, the 'black beauty' style Les Paul copy with three humbuckers and gold hardware. I played it a lot for about 20yrs, let it get away stupidly. It was a great guitar, one I'd definitely want back.
