WooHoo. I sprayed some lube in the seat hinge and it works now.
Not sure how far you are but I'm looking for a excab truck. Prefer a 3 foot or newer so 97-06.
@@HeavyDKC1 We are finishing the little stuff right now. Good luck finding what you want. It getting hard to find good ones. Thanks for watching.
@@TheGeneralMotorsGeezer-we3dg thanks, keep up the great content. Love the Chevy and gmc trucks.
Would you be I retested in selling it? I just saw your channel and been looking for almost 3 months. I'm in the heartbeat of America.
@@HeavyDKC1 We are keeping this one and selling our 96 Silverado. Thanks for watching.
Do you post on the gmt400 forums?
@@bonz5983 Haven't yet. It's hard to find active ones. Thanks for watching. Do you any good ones?
@@TheGeneralMotorsGeezer-we3dg Type in gmt400 forums and you'll find the first one that comes up. UA-cam auto deletes my comment when I post a link
OSB's 😂 I do a lot of construction and have sheets of OSB stuck in my mind.
Do you happen to know the paint code for the gold? Or at least the name of the gold? Main body color. Thanks.
paint code 55U WA 228A. ACdelco part number 19367888. Light Autumnwood Metallic.
@TheGeneralMotorsGeezer-we3dg fantastic. Thanks brother. GM all the way. 👍
@@VideoServicesVB Your welcome. GM for life, at least the old ones.
350 vortex ?
Doing a great job!❤
Looking good. I would like to make mine like that, someday when I have more time.
It's always a long term project. I am doing the same thing to my other trucks. I don't get in a hurry. I just chip away at it. The mechanical is the first thing I do.
@@TheGeneralMotorsGeezer-we3dg yup I am slowly starting the rough edges and making them better. The mechanical is good with mine, and sometimes you get lucky with it.
The paint I mentioned is Glidden/PPG matte black. It looks fantastic. It does wood, metal, and vinyl.
I know I don't ask. I am almost to 200 subs. Please like and subscribe. I would love to build my channel. Not to monetize it. I would love to do live streams with other car/truck folks. Thanks
Floor mats 😂
Those injectiors are crap, they leak and give all kinds of problems, might be your cause for the misfire code
All the injectors were fine. Fuel injector cleaner fixed the issue. It sat for almost three years. That can cause issues. Not a big fan of the injection spiders. I like the 5.3 with individual injectors and coil overs. It is what it is, I still love these 5.7 vortecs. Thanks for watching.
Can’t go wrong with the Cheyenne she’s hard working truck.
@@iansworld6967 It's a solid truck. No power windows, door locks, or mirrors. Manual ones last a lot longer.
I know Larson loves that truck talks about all the time. Hate to see it go but I understand.
@@iansworld6967 I always say people before things.
You got a nice fleet of OBS chevy’s. I would like to get me another one. I would like to find a short bed 4x4.
@@chevylandt.v those are hard to find in good shape.
We also ordered new door panel clips. If you take off a door panel, replace them. 50 for 10.00 on Amazon.
That’s a very nice truck 💯🇺🇸
Thanks. I hate to sell it. That is the way it goes when you are car/truck guy.
Hey buddy, is it shifting properly? The only thing I could recommend is checking all of your ground points making sure you have good clean grounds on every ground point on that truck and I know you know where they are at and checking the harness coming from where it splits behind the intake by the distributor And goes down to your transmission make sure there isn’t any wires pinched or that has been hurt because somebody maybe put a transmission in at one time you could have a skin wire that has corrosion in it that is losing signal. I have seen this in the past, although it is not very common it is possible, but the first question is is it shifting properly?
@@TheHomeWrencher_1776 Yes it shifts perfect. I will check the grounds. Next thing I think it could be is the ECM, I will unplug the wiring harness and clean everything with CRC QD cleaner. I never had a transmission put in it. Thanks for your ideas.
Things I did: Instrument Pod Vehicle speed sensor Ignition switch Checked and cleaned fuses Coil and Ignition control module
On our 1998 K1500 with the 5.7L the ABS light is on and the speedometer is fluttering all over and causing the transmission to shift up and down randomly and kick off the cruise control. Have you had this problem before? We replaced the VSS and the ignition wiring harness, but that did not fix it.
@@MyLifeThai371 You did the two things I would have done. Are your wheel speed sensors good?
@@TheGeneralMotorsGeezer-we3dg I did not check those. Thanks
@@MyLifeThai371 Let me know what you find out, I'm curious. Thanks
I just repaired my cousin's 1998 k1500 4x4 that was having transmission shifting issues.
@@MyLifeThai371 what was the issue? Thanks for watching.
@@TheGeneralMotorsGeezer-we3dg The speedometer was jumping around like crazy and causing the transmission to shift up and down. It was a bad "transmission speed sensor" on the back of the transfer case.
@@MyLifeThai371 Oh yeah, they will do that. My K1500 Cheyenne had one go bad. Normal failures.
If the misfire goes away after the engine warms up, check for a leaking LOWER intake manifold. Just fixed one, same symptom. High fuel trim on affected bank will help direct you.
@@JamesSmith-xs7sr After the fuel injector cleaner it ran fine cold or hot. I am getting a high voltage code for the ICM now. I am going to replace the coil, ICM, and the crank shaft position sensor. They all look original and would need to be replaced at this point anyway. Thanks the the tips and watching.
I saw a very clean and stock gmt 400 Suburban once and an old lady was driving it. It seems like the ac was working too since the windows were closed in the middle of summer. They are out there, just hard to find
@@MrOiram46 Yes they are and going up in value. Thanks for watching.

@@pat__4 I will. Thanks for watching.
Cherokee 😂
Glad to see the truck back !
Thanks for watching.
Like I mentioned in the description we are selling it because we are going to be first time Grandparents. We will use the money to add on to our tiny house for a additional room.
I've got a 98 silverado c1500 5.0 I've been throughout the truck in all areas maintenance wise I will say I gained almost 10 psi on fuel pressure after changing filter I blew through the old one it barely moved any air and it was only 3 years old these trucks need 55 psi to start and run
Yeah, that injection spider is real sensitive about fuel pressure. I still love my old trucks. Thanks for watching.
Run a bottle of redline or gumout anything that has PEA in it keeps the carbon off the poppets and also withstands the cylinder temperature cleaning rings and piston tops
Dang would have been nice to see build. I wish I would’ve known, I would’ve bought it.
At least we made a little money on it. That is tough to do on projects. Thanks for watching.
@@TheGeneralMotorsGeezer-we3dg yup better than nothing.
Way to go ...
We eventually want to buy a old Chevy with a body on a frame. Thanks for watching.
We sold the Z28. My Son is going to school and needed money for tuition. His program is the most expensive at His school. The thought of dealing with the opispark and the limited space under hood made it a easy choice. We are going to pick up a 60's or 70's GM car.
Ball joint press kit from Harbor Freight is Maddox.
I think the ECM was for a 5.7.
30x9.5 tires. Had a brain fart.
I use a spray on product called "back to black" and makes everything look brand new.
I will try it. Thanks for the info and watching.
Very nice truck Sir. Sorry for your loss.
Nice truck. Fix it up
Coverking(dot)com
Using backer rod to beef up the door seals, and the way you installed it is very ingenious. You are correct about plastic parts. Remember, the trucks of this vintage that are still around are 30 years old and more. That's plenty of time for the plastic to get brittle. Enjoy your videos.
Thank you for watching. 👍
I didn't know that those trucks leak on the windshield.
Unfortunately they do. This is my second one to do it. Thanks for watching.
Glad to see the truck again
Thank you for watching. 👍
Hell of a project .
Some work on these old trucks and they turn out great.
Also, it was free. I can spend a little time and money on it and easily make money on it if I sell it.
It goes on the outside the air cleaner and holds the PCV filter in place and a house runs from that filter to the PCV Valve. The filter is on the inside wall of the air cleaner, and a small tube goes from the filter and out through a small hole in the side of the air cleaner
It holds your door or your deck lid lock cylinder in place.
License plate light clip on my 91 s10
Lots of accurate suggestions here. Those spring/retainer clips, in many sizes, have been in GM use for decades. I can almost guess the age of the person offering a possible use, by the suggestion being made, LOL. For certain, they were in use in the 60's, which was when I first began working on cars.
I could not remember where it went. I've seen them for years working on Chevys for forty years. Their common use really threw me a curve ball. Funny thing I didn't do anything on the tag lights. It must have been loose and fell off. Thanks for watching.
