I'm an idiot....i just found out that Off the Rails is backwards compatible on Xbox One 🤦 Oh well at least i have a physical copy of the game. But yes the game is so good and has a lot of good music too.

The downside is that on Xbox, the game glitches at the end. In the final mission if you choose the revenge ending, it won't let you climb into Pegorino's helicopter

I honestly agree with you, GTA III feels too.. light & wonky for its own good, NOT THAT ITS HORRIBLE, it’s just not.. exciting and fun as San Andreas, Vice City or V. It feels like GTA III was more of a test run of Vice City, and it was kind of a successful-but-buggy first pass.

I started playing GTA IV again with a friend two weeks ago. It's great, it does have flaws, sure. But it's way more fun and interesting than gta5

The plot of GTA for me was less of a cohesive story and more of a vehicle to showcase all these facsimiles of TV and film crime characters. As a kid i had never seen Sopranos, or Godfather. So Tony Cipriani and Salvatore, who are pretty obviously based on those characters, were my introduction to those tropes. Writing a coherent story that allowed one man to work for all these competing factions would have been probably beyond the scope of the writing teams time and resources for the game, but they definitely achieved something much closer to that in the follow-up games. Im pretty sure this game was my first introduction to the Yakuza as well, and God knows what else. For reference i was born in 1992 and was introduced to the same through my friends teenage brother around the time of release. The freedom being in an open world game for the first time is not a feeling that has been really replicated since for me

Don't forget Derrick was a member of the IRA, a terrorist group from Ireland. However, Derrick at least admits to who he is, unlike Francis who thinks he's a God or some shit Also, it seems like Derrick is done with committing crimes. Francis could keep committing crimes until he dies or retires. Francis is also trying to become the commissioner of the LCPD, imagine someone as fucking corrupt as him being the commissioner I myself would choose to kill Francis, tho I can see why some people would choose to kill Derrick instead It's also implied that killing Francis is the canon choice, or at least the "right" choice. When you kill Francis, the friendship stat with Packie goes up, but when you kill Derrick, it doesn't go up. At Francis' funeral, Niko chooses to sit right next to Derrick, but if it's Derrick's funeral, Niko walks right the fuck past Francis and will sit on another bench. Derrick also nods to Niko at Francis' funeral, which could mean that the game is letting you know you made the right choice. Derrick also sits close to his fam and seems to be pretty upset at Francis' funeral, but Francis sits further away from his fam and doesn't give a fuck at all if it's Derrick's funeral. At the graveyard, you can actually go through Derrick's tombstone if he's killed, but you can't walk through Francis' tombstone, could just be an oversight tho. And after Kate dies, if Derrick is spared, Packie will say he's all his mother has left, since Derrick is a junky and an alcoholic. Packie still says this if Francis is spared which doesn't make any fucking sense

i never played GTA 3 in my younger years and only recently played it in 2024 to grab the platinum trophy (non-definitive edition) i found this game to be an 'acquired taste' - it kinda sucked at first but eventually, it grew on me and i had alot of fun

I think what makes every GTA title so compelling is the balance between fun and frustration.

I feel u do not enjoy the game as well I think its getting boring pretty fast and the missions are not fun 😮

Gta 3 is still my favorite GTA of all. I love the storyline, and the difficulty of it. I just finished the game and it’s so good. I can see the hate but I personally don’t think it’s as bad as everyone makes it out

I kinda can relate too but also the gaming industry changed so much and probably in the past more people would have different opinion on this game than now

Vice City is my first GTA game (in 2011) & San Andreas is my second. After experiencing those i tried GTA 3 but it's felt somewhat not as much fun playing VC & SA.(probably because of all those reasons in this video) other than that it's much interesting to explore new map & story.

This video is just bringing back crazy PTSD for me with this game when I tried beating it on the OG Xbox ngl, this game was painfully difficult. I think the game was great and revolutionary for it's time but jeez, I had to look up like 4 or 5 missions on UA-cam because I could not for the life of me beat it. I thought the story was pretty fun tho!

Just going to come out whole heartedly and agree Torini is without question the weakest antagonist of any GTA game. First, you like never see or hear from him during the game like ever, and just LCS story overall being about an elected mayor really wasn’t the best compared to other GTAs

I like gta 3 but I also think that it’s the second worst the worst for me is lcs but I don’t think there is a bad gta to be fair I’ve never played the original. I’ve only played the definitive edition.

Dimitri is a much better twist villain than Big Smoke, getting plenty of time to actually be a threat, unlike with BS who dissappears from the plot aftet the reveal.

You can still get 100% by doing level 12 ambulance multiple times if you locked yourself out of a mission. Each completion increments the mission counter by 1 in the stats. 😆

GTA 3 is just one of those games you leave alone in today’s age. It’s like the stone wheel to the cave men. You had to have been there to understand how great it was

All these stupid kids worshipping GTA and Driver for "inventing" 3D sandbox gameplay, without knowing Hunter did it first. While running on an Amiga 500. Anyways, play Quarantine, from some of the same developers who later joined Rockstar to make GTA. It'll be pure agony, but you can pull that Uno reverse card on anyone trying to gatekeep.

doing the hummer missions sucked near the beach, i remember almost falling in the water and having my body freeze and my toes curl as i push break as hard as i can from slipping in the water, saved myself by 2 inches and finished it. gta 3 is not really worth 100%ing to be honest, at lease in vice city and san andreas you get a health boost, in gta 3 you get nothing but weapons and vehicles.
