In regards to the flags, I wasn't alive in the 80s, so that comparison doesn't really work for me. But there are way more flags and more egregious calls than there were 10 years ago. And 10 years ago (2014) games were still in HD. Every game was on TV. There was still social media. There was still pretty much everything in place that there is today. I don't buy the "increased public scrutiny" argument at all. Officiating has gotten significantly worse in the last year or so. Period. It's directly affecting my enjoyment of games. It's gotten to the point to where I can't even enjoy big plays or scoring plays anymore because I assume there's going to be a flag. I don't really, truly celebrate plays until about 30 seconds after they happen. How the hell is someone supposed to enjoy a game like that? If that's not the most damning indictment on the current state of officiating, I don't know what is.

Not sure we would have said this going into the season (in fact we didn't say it), but Rutgers and Indiana represent a crucial swing point in the season for Nebraska football.

Guys. We are a pass to set up the run. Yeah EJ should be our back but he worked to get that vision so maybe the idea with Dowdell- development. It’s hard to criticize Satt when it should have been 13-0(3rd attempt after Fidone penalty. Without Mazz I don’t care what your mindset is if you can get a push. The openings came when Purdue adjusted to try to stop Dylan. 32 rush 26 pass. I don’t mind the review but lay off Satt- he is developing his qb and creative in the run game.

The line CANT just run the dives and off tackle run plays. We HAVE to throw to open the run, constantly complaining about not just hammering the ball is ridiculous when we haven’t been able to do that against anyone but UTEP. We want to run down hill we want to wear people out but the majority of our rushing came on the “cutesy” plays. We’re going to continue to do that stuff, that’s how we get guys involved and keep them happy so keep them HERE. We can’t run the ball until there’s only 4 guys in the box so we have to throw to force them to drop back and open the lanes.

Love the podcast guys. Just did my first Sea of Red game (vs Colo) and loved it and then saw Tenn @ OU. Highly recommend going to road games and share your love of CFB. With aspirations of seeing every ACC, Big 10 and SEC venue, I have visited Ill, Iowa, MD, Mich, Mich St, Neb, Ohio St, Penn St, and Wisc in the Big 10 with 27 schools thus far. Notre Dame best weekend, Penn State Whiteout better than Alabama at LSU at night gameday experience and atmosphere. The Sea of Red was a cfb bucket list and I'm glad I did it. GBR for life. Keep up the good work.

The loss to Michigan in 2023 was a turning point (in a positive way) for the Huskers. Could the loss to Illinois serve the same purpose?

Felt like you guys are giving Satterfield a pass for that 3rd & 3 play call with 3+ min to go in the 4th quarter. We'd been running for ~5 yards a clip in that drive, and completing short passes to keep moving the sticks and run down the clock. I would have loved to see 2 more run plays or a play-action short pass to move the chains and keep the clock winding down.

losing both mazzcuah and Lutovsky was huge. IMO, that's the reason our running game was ineffective.

We'll learn a lot about this team this week.

I really did not like the trick play with Heinrich, it too long to develop, everyone in the stadium knew what was happening, and it was a ton of risk just to pick up 10 yards.

Defense looks like a wet paper bag the last 2 weeks, not sure how we are getting to 8-4 if they don't get things figured out.

Disappointing game on so many levels. Need to get up off the mat and show progress this week vs. Purdue.

The sellout streak is the most important. Every program operates on thhe same "spirit" rules so its even. But every accomplishment of n should always be compared to its population base, this size stadium is full..in nebraska, not ohio, michigan, texas. That is extrordinary.

I would expect to see the RB workload to shift more towards Dowdell once we start playing closer games. I believe he gives us the best chance to win and when we don't have the luxury of winning these games easily I think they will lean on him more.

Game strategy and management has been VERY good. Much better than many recent seasons certainly. Getting backups in the game for meaningful snaps. Building depth. Saving strength for future games. Expecting 2s and 3s to get it done just like the starters. Running the offense all 4 quarters but clock and control of game conditions are maintained. Rhule has a game plan and the team is executing it. So far, the team is playing good football. What a change. !!

Solich would have been fine after he hired Bo as D coordinator. Regardless of anything, you don't fire Solich for someone like Callahan who wanted to completely change everything that had always worked in our scheming and you don't fire Bo for Riley who had no record.... That's why I didn't get behind these firings, not because I thought either of them was living up to the standard but because we didn't have the leadership to bring in someone good to coach. There needs to be more oversight over the programs administrators and transparency. Just look at the Trev Alberts debacle... No one knows why the heck he left and no one was there to stand up and make sure we retained him. Granted he still should have stayed but it just goes to show that there's some toxicity at the top of the program that needs removed.

I agree UNI feels like an 11 am game, I personally feel night games should be reserved for games that matter like Illinois coming up next Friday. I want them to feel special for the players/fans
