lol. I just watched a video from a couple years ago stating it would be $60 Billion dollars. Now it's estimated at $80 Billion, and still not even started a single one. It will either be scrapped after spending another decade "studying", kicked down the road by each successive group of weasel politicians. Best case scenario only a couple made, with costs *still* well over budget by multiple Billions, not finished until 2040, and completely full of flaws and faults, rendering them useless and a laughing stock in NATO. What a complete embarrassment and disservice the grifters and repulsive greedy creatures in power have done to the once proud and effective Canadian Military.

So lets examine the facts...the Halifax Frigates were commisioned in the early to mid 1990s. By 2040, the navy "might" have 9 replacement frigates & 6 Halifax Frigates (now about 50 yrs old). The whole process to build 15 frigates will take 25 yrs. The operational life cycle of these ships is 30. So right about the time, the last one is delivered, by 2050, the Halifax frigates will be scrapp metal, and the lead ships in the new class will be about 7-8 yrs from retirement (just kidding, the navy will be forced to use the ships until they sink). Way to go Canada, great planning. From about 2040 to 2050, Canada might have a 9 ship navy.....awesome planning, keep up the good work. Can't wait for submarine plan!

Actually we should put more money on military system, but this strategy doesn't mean we want war or we would attack somebody. The main purpose is to keep our engineering industry and manufacturing industry.
