HMS Queen Elizabeth left Portsmouth on 5 March as she headed for Rosyth drydock, Fife, to carry out repairs. The 65,000 tonne carrier sailed under the Forth Bridge a few weeks later, after stopping at Glen Mallan to offload ammunition.

If the builders have screwed up for sure they should do the repairs free of charge and also pay the salaries of those sailors sat around till it’s fixed, can’t see the builders getting another contract anytime soon from us or anyone else for that matter.

The two aircraft carriers are white elephants. Built by Gordon Brown to produce jobs in Scotland. Old frigates being scrapped but we have two aircraft carriers with no aircraft.

@@abrahamdozer6273 We most certainly are. We have two small carriers which we have support group for and cannot afford enough fighters to cary.
@@leeedsonetwo You NEVER sail both carriers together in a two carrier navy. Not ever. One is at sea while the other one is in training/workups/refit/maintenance. That sort of rotation goes back to the beginning of metal ships (It was a two-to-one rotation in every navy until recent years ... one ship ready for sea, one ship in workups, one ship in maintenanace/refit) The air wing is not part of the ship, anymore. The air wing lives on shore. You will need to have the ability to fill both ships in wartime so that losses can be replaced. Until then, a single air group will do the job. Loucheed is years behind in their F-35-B deliveries and there is no way that the RN gets them before say, the US Marines. Wait your turn. The real sin was to design the carriers around that aircraft in the first place.
