You can't build up the fleet if you keep losing ships before new ones are ready. The RN has become a shadow of its former self. Truly sad.

Be far better to get rid of some of our Admirals than our frigates.

Do these politicians live in another world, don't they understand that quantity counts, we don't have enough ships to protect the UK let alone go off to foreign seas to wave the flag even with a pathetically armed OPV

Who's building the new ships? Will they be British built or like the fleet Auxiliary ships built in another country.

Lets not pick a fight with any nation then! .Why waste money to refit a ship that is now being decommissioned, that's a stupid MOD policy that i thought had been eradicated. I have seen that happen to ships and shore establishments over the years. In fact most places received an upgrade less that a year before closing down, just because the money had been allocated and had to be spent, instead of using it wisely where needed most.
    Shameful

What a prat this defence secretary is. 2 modernised ships that we badly need to ensure our maritime security. They did the same with the Nimrod and a fleet of Harrier jump jets. Totally laughable. This is why the torries will never survive the next election. They would rather spend £300,000,000 on flights to Rowa da.
