*****Question for anyone who can answer it***** Hi everyone !!! I'm trying to get this kind of reggae snare sound in this video I'm posting below. At around 6 minutes in, and 11:35min in, is what I'm talking about. That high pitched crack when you hit the head as close to rim on an acoustic drum. I tighten the head more around the crotch area on my acoustic snare, and when I play reggae music, I angle my stick and hit the head close to the rim, and I get a high pitched screaming harmonic that will tear your soul apart !!!!!!! Hahahahahahaha 😁👍 Anywho....lol I can't get it to do this on my digital snare on the TD27. Have any of you tried this by chance or know how to achieve this ? Are rim shots like this possible on E-snares ? I dont see how you can control the positional settings inside the snare, so the sensors closer to the rim can sound different. I do get lost in the settings though... I'm just wondering if this is possible to do or if I'm just chasing a dream...lol If it is, can anyone tell me the setting to look for ? Nobody has any rim shot videos for edrums anywhere on the internet. Or what the possibilities are with positional sensing, or the settings that have anything to do with it, or much on that subject at all. There's no guide to anything as far as I've searched. Just the very basics, but nothing indepth by any stretch. I already destroyed a few of the snares on a few of the preset kits, and don't know how to get it back to normal, so I'm scared to try to do things on the preset drum sets.....lol I just play with what comes on the module, and I haven't hooked up a computer to it. The digital snare on the TD27 is a bit better then the one that came on my TD17KVX, but it doesn't seem like they're that far apart. If anyone has any knowledge to share, or wants to do a video on positional sensing, I'm sure a lot of drummers would love that !!! There's also no videos on edrum rim shots and how to achieve getting that high pitched harmonic sound. My guess is because the technology isn't there yet ??? Hi hope u can help me with this. Im using steven slate drums 4 with yamaha dd 65 electronic drums in reaper. Since ssd 4 can take .wav samples iv added my own hi hat sounds. That is one 1 open n another closed. Problem is the open hi hat doesn't mute when i hit the foot pedal n it continues to sustain. Please help

How did you set up the additional toms? The default set up has one rack tom and i can't find anywhere that i can add a second rack tom.

My used PD-140DS does not send off center values, it goes from 0-50 to 127 directly, like if the sensors are not working well. The center area is like 5 cm and the rest is all edge. Any way to repair it? Anyone with the same issue? I did a factory reset, it doesn't change

Btw, of course all dynamic settings (module + SD3 / EZ3) are set to linear here (for those tests)! And applying a general velocity curve will of course NOT be suitable to compensate for the loss of velocity from the center to the edge! -> it will just shift the inconsistent range/zone on the radius! So if you want to apply a velocity curve to the snare head, the most consistent way will be like this: always smooth out the velocity translation (with such a fix engine) before applying your preferred velocity curve❗😊

This sounds and looks incredible but I think I'm missing something really obvious. I see the fixes, but I didn't catch HOW to make these tweaks. How does one go about implementing this fixes? Is this tweak a product you're selling? If so I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Or sis I miss an explanation on how I could make these changes myself? This may be a silly question, but you're playing quickly in the video and I'm not sure. Around 4:55 are you hitting the hat while it is closed, then opening the pedal and getting the sound to "open up" into an open sound without rehitting the hat?

I have an Alesis Nitro with SSD5 and I cant map anything. I hit the snare and it's the same sound as the kit NOT the snare I tried to map. I hit the map button, hit the snare and it doesn't map. I have my nitro at kit 01, everything is hooked up right. Why can't I map???

Hi there, i have a Carlsbro CS D130M electronic drumkit. I am starting out with home recording and i have a copy of ezdrummer 3. My kit has chokeable pads for the crash and the ride but i can't get that to work. Can you help with that?

you can go to midi mapping layout from help menu and find numbered midi notes you may have not known your kit had an assign them to the mapping layout with adding that specific number instead of using your high hat control pedal like you want to just be hitting a closed highhat.
