    I'm quite dejected about the state of the team as well. This could have easily been a six game win streak if less guys K with the bases loaded or if the pitching doesn't brainfart for multiple innings at a time. I hope this isn't the same roster as when they come back from the break. The Seattle Mariners need BATS, BATS, and MORE Bats!

    I’ve wiped my hands with Scott Servais. How is this dude still employed by Seattle Mariners. He is solely responsible for at least 10 losses by mismanaging the game and especially with the bullpen. I don’t care who is available. You can’t have Voth in that high leverage situation. That is a must win and Scott crapped the bed again. I feel sick for our starting pitching. They deserve better than Scott Servais.

    What a frustrating series that, like you said, should've been in the M's favor to win. This may have been the most frustrating series all year, especially when they had a great opportunity to give themselves a cushion in the division.

    Scott's inability to have a feel for the game as it's playing out is glaring. I'm telling you, if the M's don't add several impact players before the deadline, there's no chance they make the playoffs. Plus, Cal won't be signing an extension to stay with the Mariners if they sh*t the bed again this year. He will go somewhere that TRUELY wants to win a World Series and Boris will get him his bag for sure.

    • @williamquemuel7824
      @williamquemuel7824 Місяць тому

      Extensions are off the table for Boras clients. Scott Boras has a policy of using the free market to get the best for his clients. Extensions won’t get the $$ for his clients. If Cal wasn’t a Boras client, then an extension might be possible.

    • @jaredcarrick3468
      @jaredcarrick3468 Місяць тому

      Why would you want to sign an extension with a career .217 hitter who averages 112 strikeouts to 34 walks per season? Every 5-10 games on average he will get into one and go yard for an average of 20 homers per season. He’s a good defensive catcher with an above average arm and works well with the Mariners rotation, but he’s just too much of a liability at the plate and hasn’t really shown any progress in that area in his career with Seattle to this point. Perhaps he would benefit from some lineup protection being inserted into an actual legit MLB lineup instead of the triple A lineup Seattle trots out year after year, but even then he is still limited with how little progress he has made as a hitter.

      @@jaredcarrick3468 Cal Hit 27 HR's w/63 RBI's in 2022 w/.211 BA , 30 HR's & 75 RBI's w/.232 BA last year. This year already @ 20 HR's & 61 RBI's, and his BA is .216. So as long as he keeps on pace, and brings his BA up , he will increase his HR's & RBI's. He's also a switch hitter with power from both sides. Handles the pitching staff excellently and is better than a good defensive catcher. I would like to see him increase his BA this year & cut down on K's as well, but to say he hasn't shown any progress is just not true.

    • @jaredcarrick3468
      @jaredcarrick3468 Місяць тому

      @@flickoftheswitch1054 it is true. He has always had raw HR power. He has progressed a little in terms of his HR numbers and his RBIs subsequently are up, but the average combined with the K to BB ratio shows that any improvements he’s made at the plate are marginal at best. The 20 HR stat I gave you is his career average to this point, along with the other stats I threw in. He’s basically the next Mike Zunino

    • @flickoftheswitch1054
      @flickoftheswitch1054 Місяць тому

      @@jaredcarrick3468 I agree, his BA & K rate at this time are not good. It would have been nice to see if he could have improved on both those stats this season. He still has the opportunity to improve his BA this year , but his K's are gonna be high again. It's unfortunate that the offense as a whole has been so terrible this year, as I think he would have had a much better chance of improving his overall numbers with a competent group of players around him. Plus, I believe Cal has way more upside than Zunino ever had. I guess I just would hate to see Cal go, I like his overall gameplay and not sure the Mariners would be able to find a replacement that could bring all the positive attributes that he brings to the table.

    U should put in for hazardous pay. To paraphrase one of my favorite movies, Godfather II- maybe Scott servais is unlucky. Why did the mariners change their rotation from Castillo, Kirby, Gilbert to insert Woo. As much as many know servais should go, this cheap org isn't going to pay Servais and a new manager. But Servais never seems to have this team ready on day games- got no-hit through 4 and 2/3s. I feel sorry for the pitchers in general but specifically for Gilbert. He's been getting this treatment all year. Well, get some bats and see what happens in the second half.

    The Astros are 1 GB while he Rangers are now 5 GB in the division. It’s win the division or bust. Mariner YT’ers kept looking past the division into a World Series. You can’t count your chickens before they are hatched. Win the division, then hope for the best. Stressing division win should be the priority not winning the World Series. M’s haven’t won a division in decades. Looking past the division will leave the M’s out of the playoffs.

    Embarrassing end to the first half of the season. Veterans need to pick it up in the 2nd half and management needs to pick up at least two bats.
    The lack of hitting is atrocious. The philosophical approach of "control the zone" and making contact clearly didn't get through to the lineup. A collective 1,000 strikeouts by the lineup in the first half. On pace for 2,000 Ks to end the season (the record for a team being 1,654 by the Twins last year).
    Ms are lucky to be in first place and it's only because of the pitching. I'm not one to usually call for firings, but if the season continues this way then Hollander, Dipoto, and Servais need to get the axe.
    Extremely frustrating as a fan who has been told to "be patient" since 2016.
