I love my smart pots. I don’t have the staining you are showing. I do empty the soil over winter and mix/refresh the soil each year. I don’t wick water by letting them sit in water. I have a wicking system coming up from the center.

I go through about 80 lb of bird seed a week.... Last year I started doing this!.... But I have a lot of sunflower seeds which are harder to break down..... But it's full of worms.... I found that if the worms don't end up in the pots it can take a good while to decompose on its own... And too much bird seeds around the trees can kill them if it gets too deep.... So you are doing a good job!

How many separate plants can you grow from a single onion bulb? I've seen videos of people cutting up an onion into quarters or even eighths and each cut piece grows into a separate plant? What's the minimum piece for an onion slice to be viable?

I’m new to avocado world but I planted a hass seed well threw it in the ground forgot about it and a few months later it was growing . My question is at 2 year old should it be almost 8’ tall. It’s planted next to my banana tree that gets lots of food scraps and fertilizer. The trunk is about 1 1/2 wide still green with a little bark at the bottom. Also how long do you think it will take to bare fruit ?

Congrats on 100% germination! I never get 100% and I can’t figure out why? Could it be my soil? I sprouted 16 Mj seeds and I put them in soil with tips down under grow lights well watered and only 4 actually grew. What’s that 25% germination? Ugh maybe you have great soil? What soil do you place your seedlings in?
