Remco Evenepoel's Tour De France DREAM Is FAR FROM OVER
Remco Evenepoel's Tour De France DREAM Is FAR FROM OVER
Remco Evenepoel’s first race back from his injury didn’t really look like something we’re used to seeing from the Belgian, with him finishing far behind the winner Primož Roglič. But despite his underwhelming performance, Remco finished the most important pre-Tour ride with a wide smile on his face. And despite him cracking completely at the Dauphiné, Remco is sure there’s no need to panic for the Tour de France, and he’s promising us a showdown we’ve been waiting for since last season. But could Remco really pull it off, and make his Tour dream a reality, despite his poor performance at the Dauphiné?

Why Tadej Pogačar's Giro DOMINATION Wasn't BORING At All Tadej Pogačar is arguably the most dominant cyclist on the planet right now, and we haven’t seen anyone like him in quite some time. He’s a rider who takes risks, entertains people and gets them glued to their screens whenever there’s a race lucky enough to be on his schedule. But the truth is that his domination has come to a point where...

Jonas Vingegaard Is Battling A RACE AGAINST TIME After Jonas Vingegaard had suffered a crash that could be career-ending at worst, he’s been making much better progress than anyone expected. Basque country was the race where he crashed badly, but it’s slowly becoming clear that it wasn’t the last race we’ve seen him take on. Vingegaard is now also battling a race against time, full of nervousne...

Tadej Pogačar's Giro FINISHING VICTORY Was One To Remember Tadej Pogačar’s Giro d’Italia fairy tale has come to an end, and everyone’s favourite Peppa Pog finished it off in the most glorious way possible, with a solo attack on stage 20, that put him 10 minutes in front of the GC runner-up. Yet again, he proved to be unbeatable in the mountains, and the first part of his 2024 plan is now comple...

The Day Tadej Pogačar Made PURPLE Shorts ILLEGAL The first few days of Giro d’Italia have been nothing but crazy. We’ve finally found a rider capable of holding Tadej Pogačar’s wheel and stealing the pink jersey on day one, and then Pogačar absolutely dominating the next day to take back what was meant to be his from the get-go. He's not a mountain goat but when setting his own pace like G does, and gaining time on TT, he can for sure do top 5. I predict he loses time on 1 big stage but creeps back up to 4th on GC.

    some things in Remco's favor: Vingo might not race/bad form. Roglic doesn't quite know how to win Le Tour, plus Remco and him are about even. Pog has the Giro legs under him, but also he has the greatest "super vitamins" in the peloton. On paper Remco should finish second, but of course there are always the crashes and mechanicals that everybody will have to face...so in conclusion: nobody really knows where Remco will finish....and then there is Ineos with Carlos Rodriguez

    • @veganpotterthevegan
      @veganpotterthevegan День тому

      I don't think Roglic has an issue with knowing how to win. He's simply not good enough to contend without a superteam. He's good enough to win the Vuelta without one. But he even needed the world's best super domestique to beat an aging Thomas at the Vuelta. A guy Pogi beat by 10minutes without a super domestique this year

  • @malehumanperson7901
    @malehumanperson7901 2 дні тому

    For Remco to win a Tour there would need to be three time trials (a la Wiggins in 2012) and Vingegaard and Pogi would both need to either not be in the race or out of form/injured. He is the best time triallist in the world and a cracking one day racer but he's not Tour de France winning level for a three week race. I don't think he would have won the Vuelta if Roglic hadn't crashed either.

      self confidence is very important, but also reality is more important. We can only speak base on what he has shown us so far, he knows exactly what he is up against and the best way he can explain what he believe he can do is by being honest and humble like he has been practicing lately. He just isn't on form to beat the pure GC riders and he knows it, great TT, and 1 day racer tho..I do believe many domestiques will also beat him in the TDF.

    I think Jonas won the last two tours in part because of the strength of his team and their tactical plan which was built entirely around burning Pocajar. Tadej team the last couple of years ended up leaving him isolated at the front surround by Jumbo Visma riders with no support... Essentially it was Team Jumbo Visma vs. Tadej Pocajar. I think team UAE recognized this and is going into this years tour with a much stronger squad. Only problem is I don't think Vingegaard is up to the task this year so we have me waiting till next year to have a true showdown.

    Couch commentary: He is a solid rider for sure but there are too many other riders that have GC capabilities and he just doesn't seem to have the climbing power. I believe he could be a great one day racer or focus on smaller stage races. Putting him up against some of the best climbers at this year's Tour will be a huge challenge. I have a hard time seeing Remco in the top 5. If we assume that Vingegaard enters and finishes the tour, then the rest of the top 5 will be occupied by the Yates brothers plus some Spanish or French rider. Remco is just not a Grand Tour rider. Similar to Pidcock, he has good performances on very specific days but neither have consistency throughout an entirety of a tour. Remco will crack in high altitude, late stages of the TdF and lose 5 minutes or more on a single stage. I don't even see him in the top 10, frankly.

      I don't think he's overrated at all. He may never win the TdF but he's still very young and has multiple world titles and a Vuelta win. At 23, Remco was world TT champ. Chris Froome was 41st in the u23 world TT at the same age and fetching waterbottles for domestiques to bring them to their GC guy. He'd possibly still only have a Vuelta win if Pogi and Jonas didn't exist. But if Pogi didn't exist or he were 30yrs old, Remco would be considered a possible rider to take the mantle from Pogi

      @@veganpotterthevegan Yes, he is great in TT and one day races but you cannot compare it with GC and guy like Froome. Truth is that he is overrated and I blame 2022 Vuelta for that where he won just because Roglic crashed and his biggest competition after that was 19yo Ayuso and Enric Mas who had TdF in his legs and was not even top10 there.... Remco got nice gap in TT and then was able to ride comfotably against two not top10 guys and won Vuelta which send cycling media off making him some sort of titan compared to Pogacar when in reality it makes him guy who is on the level of Ayuso, Rodriguez, Kuss and Vlasov but is way better in TTs.

    In 2023 Pog crashed at LBL and suffered wrist injury. This year Remco crashed harder and needed operation. Even though Pog won a stage, he suffered greatly while Ving rode away. "I am dead" said Pog while being towed up the mountain. Could Remco do better than Pog? Could Remco's body responded better? I don't think so. We may see Remco utters "I am dead" in his head while following Pog up a certain mountain.

    • @veganpotterthevegan

      They're different injuries and everyone recovers differently from the same injuries anyway. That said, I don't think Remco is up to snuff without that injury. He may get there eventually but not yet. That said, he wouldn't be the worst cyclist to win the TdF in fairly recent history.
