After watching this video and reading some comments I don’t think I’ll ever buy this sort of bike

I bought same tracker 5 years ago but never installed on any of my bikes. And my bike was stolen just few weeks ago

I have been riding GS adventures for last 10 years and now fancy a change and quite like the look of that bike. I’m sure it’s very comfy for long journeys but would it be ok going up Stelvio or other alpine passes considering it’s a lot lower that mine GSA

I adjust my chain each 600, 750 miles. Once it reaches the maximum limit I shall replace the chain too. I hope the dealer can cover part of it, claiming warranty because it's unacceptable a chain stretching so much with so few miles

Glad you bought up the battery issue. This has been going on with the previous Super Adventure as well. Like you said, Keep your battery charged.

Less than 2,500 GBP in Thailand. Is the dash easily visible? I've heard not. I may be wrong, though. The OE chain is rubbish. I read that. I'd rather like one to ride the local roads around Chiang Rai. The trouble is that I've already got a Yamaha Aerox 155 twist and go scooter as my runaround. I think the Monkey would be more fun, though, if less practical. Nick

Was convinced you'd be saying "I miss the comfort of my SAS", but still wanting one on top of the SAS says a huge amount about the bike. Also, huge cudos - did 280 miles on my SAS yesterday and felt a bit achey, so doing what you did on the SD and still having a smile on your face says a lot :)

1290r 2018 owner here, BEST TIRES EVER imho. both on and offroad (I've done my fair share of offroading on these tires in all kinds of terrain). Sand is a bitch, but it is a bitch with any kind of tire.

Exelent video. How long did it take "in total" to change the parts in the front forks? The reason I ask is because I might need a mechanic to do it for me.. Thanks in advance.

Interesting note on the seat. I bought a new 1290 SAR and rode it 388 miles and thought that it was comfortable. The horn does squeak but it is better than the one on my 23 Norden 901. The 1290 kickstand seems short, so much so that I’m nervous that it will tip on me! I had just taken the kickstand pad off my 23 KTM 690 and threw it in the trash (where all nicecnc products belong) the morning I picked up the 1290. Flash forward 4 hours and I’m digging in the trash! It works well on the 1290 until I can buy a non nicecnc pad.

Had two k1600 GTLe's there is nothing close to it's capabilities. It's just mental, still have one, and an R18, just for a little contrast. Glad you love it!

What gloves you wearing at the moment Sam? Struggling with the raynuads already so was eyeing up the roadskin winter gloves before the heated gloves are needed. Short fingers doesn't help either with certain brands 😅

After my recent experience with a Sena Intercom, and HORRIBLE Support from their Tech Support I no longer support SENA. Apparently they updated the SENA Motorcycles Android Phone App on the 12th of September and it DOES NOT WORK! for me and many many others... It won't communicate with the Headset. I looked at recent reviews for the App and Sena Products and only 1 STAR... Many SENA Customers state they are done with them completely. Many wondering "Did they even test the App before release?". I have spent hour after hour for the past 3 Days and Nights trying to get it to work, and over 40 Emails back and forth and several calls with Sena Technical Support Agents, first claiming it was "A Defective Unit" which is "No Longer Under Warranty", offering "Here's a Rebate" so I could be forced to give them MORE MONEY! I easily debunked their claim of a "Defective Unit" by having a friend download the Apple IPhone version which still works, and links with the headset . I also researched further and quickly found that MANY OTHER CUSTOMERS ARE HAVING THE EXACT SAME ISSUES EVEN WITH THE "FLAGSHIP" 50 SERIES, and still no resolution to the problem.. Also another apparent problem some SENA UNITS ARE NOT WATERPROOF! just saw another video reviewing a $700+ Sena HD Dual Pack which both units malfunctioned after one ride in the rain resulting in removal from the helmets and installation of Cardo Units which are Certified Waterproof. I am beyond frustrated and cannot believe that a company who has been selling Motorcycle Intercom products for this many years provides this level of dissatisfaction to their customers. I am still awaiting resolution to the Issues experienced.

Just the video I needed to find - I was doing some research as to what capacity compressor I'd be needing to seat the bead (currently got a 240V SUV michelin air compressor, without the receiver). That 24L SGS/Parker seems more than fit for purpose - Saw your other video on the first use of the compressor. Seems pretty tidy!

I’m really tempted to buy one. I’ve had my current bike for 2 years and did not have the slightest issue with it. Not one. So there you have it. If I buy a SAS and it it breaks, hell yeah I will start yelling, not moaning!

Even inseam is important. Im 6ft (1.83m) but my inseam is 31" which means I'm more torso. So when sitting on the bike, Im actually a little taller than an in proportion 6 footer.

Why does it look like the brake fluid is shaking loose?

How many of you idiots are out here cleaning your chain?! Besides pressure washing all the mud and dirt off and maybe giving it a quick blast? Also, the paint peeling from the brake fluid reservoir is normal, that stuff eats paint. If I need to flush & bleed fluids I'll always give the bike a rinse off afterwards for that reason.

Just seen this although it's a year old. I'm a massive fan of BMW straight 6's and straight 6's in general for that matter. I've had M cars, MP cars and even straight 6 diesels. I now have a cooking B58 but just love it for it's smoothness, unobtrusiveness and torque. I looked at the K1600B a while ago and thought I've gotta add that to my bucket list but then thought it's never gonna handle, be crap in traffic and be just too big. You have now awoken that yearning for a straight 6 bike. She who must be obeyed doesn't understand these things so there might be a disturbance coming in the Wob's household. Thanks Sam😁😁😁😁
