Have you tried to go online to possibly have a transmission, shipped from a junkyard in Japan?

My Parents had there Accord 17 years, (1995 to 2012).

Probably on second timing belt.

Probably would have sold for more with a automatic.

My abs sensor came on and all I did was push it back on and it has not come back on.

I have the same car and year and I would not trade it for anything The problem at why the check engine light is on is because he needs a new catalytic converter.

Great find! Unfortunately, 5th gear failing is a known issue on these 3rd gen Accords, especially if the fluid gets low. There's an oiling mod to help prevent that from happening. You can easily replace 5th gear without removing the transmission, it's under the side cover in a separate compartment. The only problem with that method is the metal shavings that may still be in there. If you get a used transmission, I'd suggest inspecting 5th gear before you install it. About 15 years ago I bought an '86 for $700 with 300k miles and much more rust. Loved it and was sad to sell it 😢. Treat her well, and she'll do just fine

My guess is they ran the transmission out of oil, but it could be simpler though, like a bad shift fork or something. Check the simple things first

This is a car that will always be very special to me. For Christmas 1988, my grandparents bought a brand new white 1989 Buick LeSabre Custom from Lloyd Buick/Cadillac/BMW in Daytona Beach, Florida, & I used to LIVE for their visits from Palm Coast just so I could ride in this beautiful car. It was nothing really fancy, but to me, it was up there with the best luxury sedans in the world, & it made me feel like a king just to be in it!!! To this day, I will NEVER forget sitting in those beautiful blue velour seats & feeling the cloud-like ride from the DynaRide suspension with one of my James Taylor cassettes wafting from the Concert Sound System. AHHHHHHHH........THE MEMORIES!!!!! I will go on record as saying that the C/H-bodies were probably the best cars that GM ever built. Not only they have the secret NAILED on how to produce that classic feeling of big-car ride, smoothness, comfort, & quiet, they were the best in terms of build quality/dependability/reliability, at least the later models were. They truly showed what could happen when an American car manufacturer took their heads out of their collective behinds & took the time building a car that could successfully go head-to-head with the imports, rather than just being obsessed with beating them at their own game. In fact, the LeSabre was named the Most Trouble-Free Car Built/Sold In America from 1989-up by J.D Power & Associates. Now, THAT is saying something!!!!!

I have 2 Foresters 09 and a 10 one is a limited the other isn’t a base model but nearly . Be careful buying them.. if they leak oil , be ready to do head gaskets and if they have a misfire.. you might not want to buy it.. or pay nearly scrap prices. With snow tires be ready for some fun.. they will go through 2ft easily ! Any deeper it starts coming up over the hood and you keep going !

Shame someone's tore up 5th gear like that This isn't an auto trans, changing the fluid isn't going to do anything, the teeth are all stripped off the 5th gear ring :( Sounds like someone who wasn't aware of a manual transmission tried pushing it into 5th gear while stopped with the clutch up and the engine running, and just kept pushing it until it went in, tearing all the teeth off Honestly I'd be happy enough just using it as a 4 speed haha I had a 1982 Honda Ballade 1.3L, its 5th gear was doing 3000rpm at 60mph; from the looks of it in the video, this Accord is doing 3000rpm at 65mph in 4th! While that's not ideal, that's really not that bad, especially for a revvy Honda E series (assuming that's what it is by the looks) you'll just be missing out on fuel economy and a bit of engine longevity (as if it'll matter with a indestructible Honda engine like this) Looking at the video the clutch seemed fine, it wasn't slipping or chattering on engagement, just I assume a high biting point from your description? If these are anything like the MK1 Honda Ballade, they have a cable clutch which can be adjusted by turning a little plastic light blue adjuster on the end of the clutch cable where it goes into the gearbox, turning that in some turns will help bring the bite point back down to lower in the pedals travel So surprised by american market models of cars, this thing is absolutely packed with luxury features we'd never even dream of in the 1980s; but at the same time this twin carb engine seems to be plauged with so many vacuum hoses and lines running all over the place, I assume for american emission stuff(?). The way it idles high at 2K when cold is impressive but scary witchcraft I wouldn't want to deal with when it all goes wrong lol Either way this is an awesome buy and I'm really rather jealous, hope it works out well for you!
