Thank you for this video. I to really like the big fov of the v2. One been flying them with the og air units. I just got an 03 air unit. Haven't flown it yet. But hopefully soon. Going to attempt to fly it in a 3d printed airplane. 😂 Thanks again for the videos.
@@RollnHeavyKevy Thank you for watching! I have more like them. 😆. I think the V2’s are going to give you the better in-flight immersion. I’m planning on putting second air unit in the back of this T-28 Trojan so I needed a second pair of goggles. Good luck on your flight. Post your flight and let me know so I can see!
@salisburyrc That's going to be cool having a ride along setup. I'll post when i get it ready to go. It's a slow process right now.
@@RollnHeavyKevy I understand about moving slowly. I’ve been working on that Carbon Cub forever. It’s almost ready. I just let other things get in the way. 😂.
Thanks for the video. How does the fov compare between the v2 and the goggles 3?
@@RollnHeavyKevy I did a video before this one where I discuss my thoughts on the differences. I’m a bit long winded, but for me the FOV is shocking when coming from the V2’s. There are some nice things about the G3’s like the pass through cameras, the 04 comparability and the OSD recording but you are totally losing the immersion you get when flying with the V2’s. It still looks great when flying with them, but takes getting used to. Thanks for watching!
Great video Steve. Flight data is very impressive during flight.
@@MrPeyregne Thanks, AJ! It’s very useful to see what is going on while I’m flying.
I'm currently upgrading from Caddx vista / DJI Goggles V1 to Air 03 / DJO Goggles 2.....looking forward to 4k quality.
The 4K quality recording is great! How hot the DJI 03 Air Unit gets.... 😆
I got the Integra from eBay and I still use my old v1 goggles with wtfos on all my Inav planes. I wait for the o4 to come out if they work good I keep the integra❤
@@helmuthuneke1775 The upcoming 04 Air Unit is really what got me to get these. Plus, I’m planning on adding another Air Unit in the back seat of this T-28 Trojan so I can bring a ride-along. I’d like for others to experience FPV. I’m planning on them using the V2 Goggles for that. How do you like your Integra Goggles?
@salisburyrc I didn't like the fit on my face but with a new faceplate it's better. I would sell them if not for the o4
@ I’m hoping I grow to love the Goggles 3, but the Goggles V2 FOV is so much better. 😁
Good job!

@@ThatOneGuyzChannel Thanks! It is. You should come try it!
Great stuff. Nice inverted flying. I recently added flaps to the T-28 1.1m little brother, really helped offset the weight added from fpv and B.A.G. Next is to upgrade goggles and vtx, still I gen behind with caddx and v1 goggles.
@@jessdyba Thanks! Flaps would be really nice on the 1.1m Trojan. I’ve been using an older gen goggles as well. I just got the latest gen goggles. I wanted that OSD recording and high res screen. 😁
Great flight and another smooth landing. What's the best way you've found to cut canopy plastic cleanly? I've been using razor knives mostly.
@@StumpLakeRC Thanks! You got it. Razor Blades... Its a long process and I go through several of them. I will take painters tape to mark the edge of where I'm going to cut and then lightly score next to the edge of the tape. Each time trying to go a little deeper with my cuts. You'll know when you need replace the blades. Eventually, the cut will be done but it won't be straight. Then I start carving it out to as straight as I can get it. I've seen a lot of nice work lately from other channels where they are able to keep their air units from over heating and not having to cut their canopies away. You need a really good clear canopy to begin with. Mainly, these are with the jets. You do get better video quality with the plastic out of the way though. 😄
Nice video. What did you use for the canopy ? It’s so clear and no flare at all.
@@王淳敏 Thanks! On this one the canopy was too cloudy to be useable so I had to cut it out. I just left the canopy frame intact. I did FPV the E-Flite Carbon Z T-28 Trojan 2.0m and kept some of the canopy, but the DJI 03 Air Unit runs hot. Even with a cooling fan on top of it the air unit overheats so I need constant airflow over it. Thanks for watching!
@@salisburyrcwithout the canopy will it affect the fly? Considering the aerodynamic?
@@王淳敏 I've not cut all the canopy away. I had to cut out some in the back to allow air to pass through. If you get a chance to check out my channel, you should be able to see some better shots of the canopies of both versions of my FPV T-28 Trojans. Aerodynamics in both of them don't seem to be affected, and if they are affected, I don't notice. I do have an FPV tutorial series on my channel where I go over why I cut out the canopy.
The O3 got great quality. Nice area❤
Thanks! It really does. I’m looking forward to the 04 Air Unit to be released soon. That is what planning to put in my new FPV build I’m working on right now. I’ll have to go ahead and put an 03 Air Unit in it if they don’t release it soon as it’s getting close to be ready.
This FMS T-28 Trojan 1400mm is a lot of fun to fly FPV. This video is my perspective of flying whereas the last video was the "Line of Sight" perspective of this flight. This day was windy out and if you notice there was a direct crosswind on landing. So much so that I was having to crab into the wind to keep it on the runway to land. This was a good day to fly to practice my crosswind take off and landings. If you enjoyed this content, please smash that "Like" button. Thanks!
Absolutely there is not much as I love warbirds and jets but coming from quads it was more natural. I do love FC for my expensive birds.. I got also a Trojan and I love it❤
I've been watching your Trojan videos. They are really good and I've been enjoying them. Thanks for commenting!
Great Idea Steve! Well done!
Thanks Richard! We should probably be getting ready to upgrade our birds to Inav 8 when its released soon. 😆
Here is a Super Compilation of all the tutorial videos used to FPV the Eflite Carbon Z T-28 Trojan with Inav and the Speedybee F405 v3 Wing Flight Controller. I realize that many of you have already seen these videos, but I've put them all in one great big video so anyone that is interested can follow this video instead of needing to keep track of multiple videos.
That Carbon Z is such a beast, no issue carrying the gear....but smaller T-28s benefit from replacing that steel hardware used for the motionsic gimbal with nylon. Have you see the site with little LCD displays? Would be very cool to have functioning control panel.
The Carbon Z also has its own issue with the nose gear. There have been complaints about the front nose gear bending. So far, mine has held up fine but I'm watching it. I'm already on my third front nose gear replacement on my FMS T-28 Trojan 1400mm. Look at it wrong and it bends or snaps. I've seen those little LCD displays. They are really cool and are setup nicely to pull the data from the flight controllers. I've been debating one of these myself. 😆
@@salisburyrc I'd be very interested to see how you mount a screen in your next build. With all the space in the Carbon-Z T-28, it could be highly scale. 3D printed glass cockpit?
@ I’ve been debating it on the build I’m working on now. I may add it after the maiden. It depends on how impatient I get to fly it. I’ve been working on my latest FPV build slowly over the past few months. It’s an ARF and I’ve had to wait on parts and other priorities have slowed me down. It does sound like you’re challenging me though. 🤣. 3D printed glass?
I like the scale details you've retained and camera placement. Nice smooth flight!
Thank you!
Here is a flight purely from the viewer's perspective. I like to show this side of it because to me when flying FPV it looks like I"m flying much faster and further away than I actually am. It was pretty windy this day and I had a nice direct crosswind so it made for a nice practice for me on my crosswind landings. I'll post the FPV version of this flight soon.
I'm still struggling a bit with landings...hard to judge distance to ground and airspeed in fpv.
@@jessdyba I totally get it. Everything looks much faster and larger than it actually is. When you are coming in on final try not to look at the ground. Look at the horizon in front of you. You should be able to get a better judgement of the distance between your plane and the ground this way. Also, if you are using a flight controller it isn't a bad idea to go ahead and flip it into Horizon Mode to help your wings stay level while landing. This will help you build confidence while you are getting more FPV take offs and landings under your belt. Horizon Mode is like an Intermediate Safe Mode on the Spektrum Receivers. It isn't a full-on Safe Mode. Just a thought. 😃
@@salisburyrc Thanks....but no FC on my T-28
@@jessdyba That was just a suggestion. Using Horizon Mode might become a crutch anyway. Lol. The first part of what I said is more in line with landing an actual plane. These are just toys anyway. As long as they can survive the bounce. 😉
Nice! Got a question... I tried the same FC but it would death roll or point the nose directly into the ground on angle mode... where did you mount your FC?
Thanks! I mounted the FC in the same place the original receiver was. I feel like I know what is going on with your setup. I had the same or a very similar issue when I setup my first FPV build with this FC. I did a tutorial video series on my channel and actually went over this but it was just briefly as I was going over the transmitter setup. Basically, check your gyro response. It is reversed. Instead of using the Inav configurator to control the aileron, elevator, rudder reverse/normal switching that is the one place you want to do it from your transmitter. I hope that makes sense.
I actually really do like your hat sir!
Pretty popular hat. Nice and cheap too. 😆
the pilot did good job on that smooth maiden.
Thanks! I’m trying to work on him to go FPV 😁
@salisburyrc good job, Fpv was the best move i ever made. 👏 💯

Hey Pilot, Awesome flight with the chase drone. very relaxing ride.
@@Streetreaper89 Thanks! It helps when both pilots keep communicating. I’ve been trying to get some shots like you and your friends do, but I’m not able to fly consistently with these guys so it’s hard to get in sync. The pilot I flew with here did awesome. Plus, he upgraded his AeroScout. He would punch the throttle and it would take off like a rocket. 😆

Nice video! Great job!
@@KimberCrabtrey Thanks!
parece mentira que no saben pilotear un avion rc, vuelan como si fuera un cohete. que locura
Thank you for your comment and your concern that I do not know how to pilot an RC plane. Not only do I know how to pilot an RC plane, but also general aviation aircraft. These electric RC planes are overpowered and are toys. We are allowed to enjoy them as we want as long as it is done safely. Sometimes I fly this plane nice and boring in big circles. Other times I fly it extremely aggressive. This is a big RC plane and the perspective is actually much different than real life. It isn't going as fast as it looks like it does in FPV. This is why I post videos of the same flight in the "Line of Sight" perspective so people can actually see that what looks like this plane is tearing up the sky it actually isn't. I hope this changes things how the flight actually is viewed for you.😃
Late afternoon flight with my FMS T-28 Trojan 1400mm warbird I converted to FPV. This one flies similar to the E-Flite Carbon Z T-28 Trojan 2.0m, but because it is smaller it seems much quicker. They both have their own nuances and I enjoy flying them FPV because of this. If you are looking for your first scale FPV warbird, the FMS T-28 Trojan 1400mm is a great choice.
Or the Eflite T-28 1.1m
@ Agreed! There is a lot of room inside the 1.1m T-28 Trojan to fit all the FPV gear. Plus, the landing gear is solid.
Love this flight, I have a 330 also. I have had it for a few years, and progress has been slow, but l have learned a lot , and love it
@@davidblack5681 Thanks for the compliment! The 330S is a lot of fun. I understand about the progress. RC helicopters for me is more of a journey. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Wow, thats Awesome work! sounds cool with your edit! top Notch. How do you get the pan and tilt so smooth and no drift?
Thanks! 😃. When I initially got the Tally-Ho head tracker there was a lot of drift. I did a recalibration on it and it’s been rock solid ever since. I don’t think I’ve done anything special to help it be any smoother with the setup. I have noticed the Motionsic BAG is the same in both of my builds. It’s not the transmitter because in the beginning I was using a Spektrum NX10 and am now using a Spektrum iX14 and it’s the same in both.
@salisburyrc Thank you for the info. I like that setup on spektrum seems alot smoother. My tx16s still has drift with both of his tally ho calibration and rolling it around in my lap on the goggles. I now set it to reset to center with min max roll. It helps alot but then i had to play with the gains on the HT software and added 30%expo on the pan tilt channel from the radio. Yours is still beautiful view and looks great! 💯✅️
@@Streetreaper89 Thanks! I need to grab a Radiomaster TX16s and see if I can recreate the same issues as you. I used to have one but sold it a while back. It may be something for another time, but I've been debating another one for ELRS. I want that range I'm not able to get with Spektrum. 😆
@@salisburyrc Hey that would be awesome. keep up the solid work!! The range is great with elrs ranger ext and the rp3 receiver, no issues here, RTH failsafe works aswell. It shouldn't be hard to recreate the drift with a tx16 lol. so far 3 people i know have tons of drift with them. once the first flight is done then following flights typically get more and more drift until i cant even use it because its diving my cam to the left corner usually. I'm running the latest tally ho with goggles 3 and still same issues as my older HT and goggles. my old setup with ix12 didnt really get much drift.
@@Streetreaper89 I do remember when I first started my setup I had bad drift. I was running the latest update on the Head Tracker software. I ended up downgrading to a couple of versions back and it resolved the issue. Not sure if this is the same thing you are dealing with, but its worth checking out.
good landing ..

Fpv Pilot! Darn that looks fun!
Hey Richard! You know it was. 😁. I was having issues with the retracts on this flight. I’m glad my spotters were keeping an eye on them for me. I believe I ran the juice too low on the battery.
Nice flying a bit agressieve on turns , is your gimbal set up to 3 rolls axis? Also what transmitter are you using?
@@autorings3443 Thanks! Aggressive on my turns? Exactly… 😆 The Carbon Z T-28 Trojan 2.0m is a blast to fly FPV and is very capable. If you’re interested, some of my earlier videos on it I’m even more aggressive. The pan and tilt gimbal is a Motionsic BAG. It is only two axis. My transmitter is a Spektrum iX14 with a Spektrum 4651T receiver on top of a Speedybee F405 Wing flight controller that runs INAV. I have links for everything I use in my description. Did a little bit of "Follow the Leader" with a fellow RC pilot and his 1.2m T-28 Trojan. It is a bit of a challenge to see clearly through the center canopy when flying towards the sun since I didn't cut it out. I would lose the other T-28 Trojan in my FPV view when it would cross over as it is white and small. We obviously need more practice and to keep steady speed and altitude in the pattern.
