Look to see UConn drop in the polls now that Ohio State beat Michigan. (that's IF it's not "rigged" by the media) As far as Sellars for Maryland, she did a great job on Ju Ju even though Maryland lost.

On a C curve Dearica is on top of the left side of the graph. I ❤️ don't think she had any complications carrying Amaya to term and the same with Legend. With Amaya Dearica Hamby recovery is unreal to be ready for a very demanding job and hard to believe a great coach didn't consider her recovery from Amaya. Especially from an older woman. So Ms Hammon couldn't see the recovery from Legend was Dearica said record short. She caused all that grief for nothing. Short before season starts 😮

She wonders ✨️ what is next in line. And misses the friends 🧡 she made and wishes she could stay in one place. The WNBA like the woman Podcaster said they got to create some rules. As you can see you can't leave it up to the WHIMS of one coach and organization. It's hard to believe that there was no compassion 💔 in Dearica Hamby's case. First, the worst referees are NCAA, then the WNBA. Now, Paige if you are up 26 points in the 3rd quarter with 1:17 seconds to go, why even try to get the ball if you lost it. It's not March. Think long term if you want to get to the championship. Even Geno puts you in, your role changes up 26 points. You and Azzi and Sarah are too valuable for some no playing girl to try and impress her coach by injuring you.

Paige Bueckers does not shoot the ball much, she is also rather slender (underweight) or physically unable take hard hits. She was outperformed by JuJu Watkins several games ago this past year in December 2024. For someone who has spent time. possibly workouts/training with or having conversations with Caitlin Clark that Paige skills and abilities are well overhyped or exaggerated. From a projected #1 WNBA Draft Pick Paige will likely be in the first Top 10 WNBA Draft Picks especially now showing she is prone or acceptable to injury. I don't think mentally Paige Bueckers has recovered from her ACL injury of 2 seasons ago. She is not playing the same way as she once did. Is it being over protective or lack of confidence? I foresee UConn in making it only to the Sweet 16 in the March Madness (Final Four) Playoffs in 2025. There will be no 2025 NCAA Championship for UConn this year. The WNBA "W" is a farce anyways since the whole league is made up of non-professional players and are dependent upon financial support of the NBA and other sponsors. It was proven the WNBA is a huge failure in women sports with much bad demeanor, attitudes, un-sportsman like conduct, jealousy, being non-professional and inflicting harm to others make it a terrible league. After all, look at the way Caitlin Clark was treated throughout her whole Rookie year in 2024. Time for the United States to create a real women's basketball league and dump the WNBA.

At 78, I can finally be an avid fan without wishing or cheering an injury on athletes from opposing teams. I have total respect for both Dawn and Geno. Neither coach will push Paige and Ash back into action before they are ready. Now about your idea on a rule change: It is an interesting proposal. Too many injuries occur with athletes diving for loose balls, especially head injuries. I needed stitches above both eyes from two different cases of diving for a loose ball. That was 55 years ago.

Any time a player gets injured in a game, we're supposed to blame the coach? Auriemma is in the process of experimenting with a number of different lineup combinations, as this year's team still needs to find its identity. Since so many of the combinations involve Bueckers, she's not going to come out in Q3 just because her team has a big lead. I wish we had more truth in the promotion of some of these videos. It appears that Paige has not incurred an injury the nature of which has "doomed" UConn's season.

This is the best discussion of the Paige injury. The move by the Villanova player was the equivalent of a cut block in football. It should be outlawed and carry a serious penalty. Paige should have dove for the ball also on that play. I think Raven Johnson was rolled up on in the Missouri game, if not it was a recent game. With the money NBA players are making, how guys are being rested and college athletes making NIL(and maybe salaries eventually) , perhaps they will legislate hustle plays like this out of the game. Maybe that's the way we're headed as some think the NFL is moving towards two hand touch or flag football.

  • @SportsTymeStories-h8x

I am one of the biggest Fans of Paige. But sometimes a player does NOT have to hustle after every shot when you are almost up by 30 points. Nor was Paige just standing still when the play happen. Also, the other player Should NOT be diving when you are Down by almost 30 points. But I bet almost anything these coaches are always screaming their players to hustle. So there is that also. UCONN season was Doomed if Fudd can't come back healthy. If the same for Paige, well we all know that's it for UCONN. For UCONN to win a Title, both Paige and Fudd have to be fully healthy.

It would still knock potentially important seconds off the shot clock. (It would decrease the motivation for diving plays a bit though.)

Couldn’t agree more. It was a dangerous and extremely careless play. I almost have to question the intent especially seeing her continue to roll into Paige’s legs. A reckless play like this could happen at any time in a game so those that say she shouldn’t have been in there are not focusing on the key issue here.

@@T-l5txcvbnm Totally disagree. Bascoe's momentum kept her moving and she was rolling onto her back like the video says you should do when going for a loose ball. Guess she or her coach watched Calipari's video. See the roll at 3:27, same as Bascoe. Just happened in the game Bueckers was not also doing the roll onto her back and Bascoe's roll caught her in the wrong place at the wrong time. I don't see how you can change player's competitiveness to not go after a loose ball.

I think all kickballs should be called. Never noticed it before, but I think that would eliminate about 2/3's of them. Whether the player in possession, or the opposite team kicks it, it should be called, and the team who didn't kick it (first in some instances), gets possession. Never realized how much like fouls, "kick balls" are basically just the referees opinions. Think that just messes stuff up.

@@dougpost8958couldn’t disagree more with your comment. There was no scramble for a loose ball, PB was bent over picking up the ball and Boscoe dove at her knee from behind and from 5 feet away. Boscoe made no effort to take control of the ball (it was on the far side of PB), instead just drove her shoulder into PBs knee. Then rolled up onto the leg compounding the risk of injury. This is exactly (dive and roll) what football players do when they are trying to injure an opponent (yes, it happens) and is why cut blocks and diving knees is illegal in football. It’s also illegal in BB, and should have been grounds for getting tossed. Trashy, dangerous, cheap play by a low quality player who was down about 30 points at the time.

Two points on Paige's injury. First, injuries can happen at any time during a game. The only way to truly prevent an injury from happening is to not play in the game at all. A lot of people attend the games to watch their favorite players actually PLAY in the game, not sit on the bench. Second, in this case, it was still in the third quarter. Most coaches don't replace their starters in the third quarter unless they have an insurmountable lead, so I don't buy that this was stat padding. Don't blame Geno for this.

Yes if you watch other games Paige usually comes out in 4th quarter when the team is ahead by 20+ points. Allie was at the table coming in for her. Paige only averages 25 - 27 minutes. I believe Sarah's minutes are also the same as well as other starters. This is a team strategy. Geno coaches a team not just Paige. I think the travelling rule does apply if you lift your feet. Maybe neither player had control of he ball while on the floor.

Paige's sub was at the scoring table when this occurred... nothing points to Geno as fault. The shoulda, woulda, coulda, is sooo effin stupid as a reason when it comes to these injuries. Coach shoullda done this..if coach woulda have done that... etc. Eating the right foods for conditioning, giving your body a rest after the season and the physical make up of the woman's body itself is a few major factors of why these ladies have injuries. No one knows or can predict when an injury will occur.. before, middle or end of game... in the locker room...in practice (m,ost occur) an/or outside of the sport. Lets stop finger pointing and adress the real reasons...

@@back2sports It was this section in your title that required for m to respond "by Preventable Injury", which all know (that I indicated) can happen anytime or anywhere so it really isn't "preventable".

No You can't prevent injuries by limiting minutes. Only by better referees and yes change the rule.
