It blows my mind they never did an official HD remaster of MGS, do they possibly not have a lot of the original data/files they need to update the cutscenes or other assets? I dont even really want a remake, although ill take one, just a full texture overhaul cinematics and all would be the dream for me. Wish the GC remake was more faithful because that would have of course been the perfect remake… Cant believe how many pointless changes they made particularly to the cut scenes.

Instead of grabbing the XML from the "GameProfiles" folder, would recommend the "UserProfiles" folder as it has your customizations that when set in TP. (If I recall when making config changes they get saved there)

Thank you so much for this video!!! For several years, I have wanted to use Duckstation to play Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, but it was too dark for me. I have searched on and off every time I go to play it, but I never could figure out how to adjust the brightness and contrast on Duckstation, so I would always just go back to using ePSXe because adjusting the brightness on it is easy, but I hate how you have to fuss around with the windows. I didn't know if you clicked on the plus sign in the post-processing window, there were many choices you could choose from. I chose simple brightness and simple gamma, and now SOTN is much brighter! Finally! I can't thank you enough! ❤❤❤

I've been liking Xemu so much. It runs and looks 10x better than PCXS2. All of my other emulators run great except this one, it definitely isn't my PC specs because my computer can handle current games at 4k no problem but 20 year old PS2 games run like crap

Is this only for MAME? I was emulating SNK in separate emulators usually, FinalBurn Neo core in Retroarch is the last I used.

Disliked! Resident Evil Zero for GameCube on Dolphin stutters no matter what you use. Even with the Ubershaders, nothing works!

There's only about 50 titles out of the 15,000 that I ever care to play, so I set up a torrent for the latest full set of non-merged files and just checked the ones I needed. Then I kept the torrent running; if I discover there's a new game I want, I need only check the one box in the torrent and it's almost instantly there. Next, I make sure that I have the exact MAMA version that matches the rom set. Finally, I pull out the art and other files I need just for those games. Instead of more than a hundred gigbytes, the entire collection is less than one. One other thing: MAME is an ongoing project, constantly improving and expanding. Having said that, if you have a collection that works, there's likely little need to update every month. In fact, you might go an entire year without any update which directly affects your collection. So in other words, if your collection is not broken, you probably don't need to fix it. A final tip: MAME is not "installed" on your computer, necessarily. The MAME installer only creates a single directly and puts all of the files needed into it to run directly from that folder. Thus, you can run MAME from anywhere, including a flash drive. After your MAME collection is finished, and it has your rom/art/etc files, make a backup and put it away.

I came from your Sega model 2 and 3 , they worked like a charm and I even managed to get them to work on Launchbox ^^ any chance you could make a video about the best mapping for the will controllers ? I did hear that some games does have some unique controller settings....is there a way to make a universal mapping or as least something that could work for all (important will games ) ~

Extremely helpful tutorial: beautifully explained, simple and to the point. Maybe a little outdated now as the "Apply Widescreen Patches" and "Apply No-Interlacing Patches" options in the Graphics tab have been removed for whatever reason (I'm using the latest Nightly build) In any case, this is one of the best channels if not THE best as far as emulation tutorials are concerned 👍🏆

I use the none merged 0.270 set but this build is for specific games and not wanting to import the full romset. can i still use your stem just only import the config files for the games I am adding to MAME.
