Bernard Manning, Stan Boardman, Roy Walker, Charlie Williams, George Roper, Mick Miller, Dugie Brown, Ivog Davies and Tony Jo. Charity Gig done for guide dogs for the blind in 1991. As always, i do not own the copyright on this VHS but i do not want this footage to be lost. Many video tapes never made it to DVD and were thrown out. with it snippets of our great comedy history.

Charlie Williams - The best of the Comedians

Charlie Williams footage is rare so i have managed to piece together everything from the comedians collection (the published dvd's of course). I assume the BBC will never fully publish the original full series', so the remainder of Barnsley's greatest comedian's humour will be lost to the unviewable archives forever. Enjoy what i have found.

Old Barnsley Footage, found on a VHS tape (Sorry for the poor quality)
Remember Charlie Williams. Loved the accent. A real sport and great comedian. They don't make 'em like that anymore!
No Eddie Flanagan? Disappointing…..
You still see people with them leather helmets now
What a legend of a man well funny👏👏👏
Complete crap not even funny in the 1970's
Barnsley's finest.
HAPPY TIMES, BUNNY Was just a sweetheart, Such a shame to find out about his partner Philip. Very happy times had with Jean, K&S , M&S, and the wonderful Gary. X
Shows how little TV I watched. I have never heard of him before 😂
Mick Miller, very nice! Very nice!
SOOOOOOOOoooo BAD
Grew up listening to Blaster, saw him twice in Doncaster, great memories of a great man.
That midget joke at Peterborough station was my favourite, an absolute corker

Bonjour, Le sujet date un peu, mais merci pour votre partage. Auriez-vous un carburateur Solex 34 PBISA 16 à vendre ou savez-vous où je pourrais m'en procurer un svp ? Merci pour votre attention. Cordialement
A bit of Roses banter between Bernard and Charlie, who were good mates. Chubby Brown (another mate of Bernard’s) also started out in that era, winning New Faces and then he earned a fortune on the club circuit, being deemed too blue for telly. If Mary Whitehouse didn’t want to play with Chuck Berry’s ding-a-ling, then what chance did poor old Chubby stand? 😂 😂😂 All of the above were legends. In the days when you could have a proper laugh. Instead of having to listen to comedians (well, allegedly) with unpronounceable names, spouting B0/_/_OX and being about as funny as a fire at an orphanage.
Not even funny not understand a word he was saying
What a pile of shite jokes…😊
Charle was Barnsley’s finest and a true gent , he refereed a charity match and my local miners welfare club and us kids mobbed him , he signed autographs and had us in stitches laughing , RIP Charlie
Charlie Williams..the comedian me and my sisters where always allowed to watch and ALWAYS looked forward to seing,
As a ten year old child i was always allowed to watch Charlie Williams with my parents..he was always safe and he did more for positive race relations than any politician. My black friends at school where friends, friends you called on at the weekend in the hope their parents had some food on the go...because you knew the arromatic food you could smell when you where knocking on the front door is soon going to be presented in a dish and your going to eat like a king. Happy times in poor Times.
Lovely fella....and a very good pro fotballer....2 careers🙂
A fab footballer first and formost
What a miserable looking audience😡
Thank you for your efforts!! Williams is a gem in British comedy! Plus, I'm learning to understand that Barnsley accent of his!
Not heard of Williams before but someone put up a clip and takes a bit to get used to the accent, but here is a funny man!
Watching this makes you feel how far we've gone back.
Bernard Manning my fav 😅
I’m lucky enough to have this documentary on VHS! My grandad let me keep it.
Boardman the tory.
