Hunting only wild, sustainable waterfowl with gun and falcons in the Lake District, North-West England.
In fact I enjoy just being outdoors and enjoy most fieldsports especially if it involves a meal at the end of it.
I fish for bass, would like to fish for sea trout. My goal for 2025 fishing season is to catch a Ferox trout from our glacial lakes that adorn the county. My nephews are both mad keen fishermen and will be coming along too.
My German Wirehaired Pointer, Frosty assists in finding and pointing game but won't retrieve as she was trained to work with falcons. I will be training a Labrador in 2025 to bring my meals back and to give Frosty company.
We will be hunting snipe and woodcock in the uplands this coming winter as well as waterfowl all over the UK.
Stay tuned for my outdoor adventures.

Wild Goose Chase 4 - Goose Shooting - Hushpower

My adventures over the festive period trying to get a couple of goose for a New Years meal. Goose hunting here is hard. I don't have a marsh to flight them at dawn or crop fields to decoy them into. I need to try and intercept them on their way from roost to field or vice versa. There is a big latitude for error - I need to put myself within 50 yards of their flight line on a coastal strip that...
Storm Darragh Evening and Morning Flights

Testing conditions, the essence of flighting wigeon on inland flood waters. Trying to spot them, hear them. That is the challenge. Can you spot one before the last race of light runs out..... Also being without a dog is not ideal but like any missing sense it forces the rest of your faculties to heighten as a result. And I find quite a few ducks the next morning by simply bothering to go and lo...
ShotKam - 2024 Greatest Hits

A collection of the ShotKam highlights from 2024. I started the season using mostly a pump action as I wanted it to use with a Moderator (semi-autos don't like low power loads) But..the pump action didn't suit me. Since I changed to other guns the standard of shooting went up. Not that poor shooting is bad for your sport...you get more shots and a longer day!

A stealth mission to take out the biggest drake mallard in the area. For my supper. Seriously, it was a stormy night that would have muffled an atomic bomb. Still a good night to test the hush power silencer on the 28 bore semi auto. I've got this gun for a variety of uses not just low key wildfowling - I'll also use it for pest control and pigeon shooting around our farm and shooting in and ar...
A Boys Night Out! - Inland Duck Shooting

I took my nephews out for their Christmas duck flight! We've had no luck with kids on this pond this season with poor light. Tonight was about perfect even if it cam with a stinging cold wind. The boys wanted to put out their decoy spread and did it with little supervision (They are all over UA-cam on American duck hunters channels so have the idea). The decoy spread worked out quite nicely for...
Armchair Wildfowling - Wigeon Night Flighting

Ok, not strictly wildfowling but inland duck flighting. Some 'fowlers get quite precious about the distinction. 'Wildfowling' in the UK is hunting ducks and geese below the high water mark in coastal areas. But I was still after wildfowl in wild conditions near the coast in this case! Us Brits get a bit weird! As if the ducks care! I repurposed another old chair (after the previous one turned t...
Duck shooting an Ice Hole and Evening Flight with a friend

A couple of evening flights. One in a half frozen pond in a cold spell. Not the cold spell was very brief and not approaching anything that would stress the ducks. I feed ducks at two refuges close to 2 tonnes of grain over the winter and like to think my impact is sustainable or more sustainable. Also took my friend, Gary out for an evening flight and he enjoyed it and got some ducks. Some goo...

Nearly perfect conditions. Strong winds, dry and a clear sky. I made the most of it. Lots of rainfall gave us floodwater options at last. I love this type of hunting - having to use your scouting and field craft skills to find out where the ducks are feeding and to put yourself in the right place. …..

Inland Wigeon Flight - Wildfowling - The ducks piled in!
Переглядів 4,2 тис.Місяць тому
Sit down and enjoy an evening flight on an inland pond. Wigeon and teal pile in. I haven't added any narration to keep the sound natural. Hopefully this gives a flavour of night flighting in the UK. The wigeon always come in last and always on the verge of being invisible...but not always.
Wigeon Spring Rolls

Wigeon can taste a little 'salty' from coastal areas and some people don't like eating them. But if you're not eating them or your friends and family don't enjoy them then you shouldn't be harvesting them. They are not a pest species. But..if you're on the fence this will pull you back into the fold and you will view wigeon with the same mouth watering zeal as other ducks. This recipe is a crow...

Join me for a relaxing tide flight on the ducks. It was bitterly cold but I hoped there was enough of a tide and water to bring some ducks off the estuary and into my little bit of marsh. It was a nice day (too nice for wildfowling really ) and a Monday off work so I couldn't lose really......

That's dedication Nick , patience of a Saint 😊 good work .
Can you tell me if that Beretta 28 guage is high performance steel proofed or does it not have to be for firing TSS through it?
I could be wrong but I don't think it is. My eyesight is not good enough to identify a Fleur-de-lys mark on the action. I don't recommend anyone else do this. You do so at your own risk as do I. I keep the choke at 1/2 or less and take my chances. I do though know my pressures of the loads I use which are all on the lower side, especially the subsonic stuff (stands to reason) so Im not challenging any pressure regs. Im comfortable in what I use. But its for others to get good advice and then make their own decision.
Great vid mate!
Great video 📹 👍🏻
I enjoyed your video. Thanks.
@@terencegamble4548 thank you
Great vid again. Do you see/shoot many pintail on your side of the Solway?
Not many here, the odd pair. but a bit further south on the Duddon Estuary there are decent numbers. Not sure what is shot though..
Nice vids our goose season ended jan 15 now its the long wait till next season i will be doin some coyote and rabbit hunting but for me geese are my favourite to hunt. When does your season end....
31st January inland. 20th February on the foreshore.
Greylags learn pretty quickly where not to fly! Great video.
Great video again. Really going to miss these when the season finishes
A no there’s not much of the season left but any chance you could do a prep and cook video. Great vid as always 👍👍
Another great film - its my favorite hunt to. Best regards from Wild fowler hunter DK
Great videos 👍sorry if this has been asked before but what are the moderators you are using 👍
@@tub64 it’s a screw in Hushpower. Fits into the choke threads.
@@CumbrianWildfowlerthank you for the quick response I’ll look into them 👍
@@tub64 Look up Saddlery and Gunroom. They can basically make up anything for you for a gun that has choke threads. This is fixed 1/2 choke.
Yes !…wild birds in wild places !….
Damn good cartridges those to be able to hit the moon.
Love watching your videos keep up good work and enjoy
These are great🙋♂️
The first shot with the hushpower showed a pretty significant flash at the breech
what gun are you using?
Yıldız Wildfowler. Great gun for this use. HP-steel proofed, heavy, swings well and soaks up the recoil.
Oq seria esse pó que vc coloca juntos com o chumbo

Naively I was expecting more of a difference between the 12 and 28. I have a 20 and thought it was quieter but clearly it won't be 😂.
Well done, good looking pup too. I enjoyed your video and the different scenery. I hunt with a Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla in south Florida in the US. Is the ground there wet or damp? We mostly target wet ground. Nice job adding the ShotKam footage.
Wow some difference 👍
Hope you didn’t scare any deer in the area.
Was out this evening. And thanks to your videos bagged my first mallard. They fly fast. The lead I had to give was massive. 😅
@@TadhgIrish George Digweed says try to miss in front. Then if the bird catches any of the pattern it’s likely to hit it in the from end and be deadly. Well done Tadgh!
Thanks im thinking of getting a hushpower suppresser for my 20b got the 410 and love it .
Great! Pinkies at last. They often wait to the death or fly before real first light. The last two I got at the Solway were only about 3ft off the deck and only about 12 ft away in a rain storm. I had my 8 and had to force myself to get well in front on the second one. These are what great memories are made of.
The way the geese flare in daylight and stay the course after dark and you had a shot means something about your set is causing it. Are you sure you don't move or something flashy with your set up? Just an observation. Don't come to the states and hunt at night you'll be in jail .😂😂😂
Great effort!
Great to watch.
What model Beretta is that 28 bore? You shoot it well.
@@JimCinUK the Xplor. Thanks
Well shot!! Ducks flying like that with the wind are sure sporting fun.
Fantastic video. It will be a shame when the season ends
Another great video. Here in Australia, we can’t have semi auto or sound moderators, I’m envious
Well done stuck it out and got the rewards. Stick with the Beretta it shoots straighter than your other guns.Good video. 👍👍
Well deserved mate, great content again.
Another excellent video, I really look forward to these, thank you. Slightly off topic if you wouldn’t mind, what video cameras do you use and how do you edit your videos?
I have a ShotKam on the gun barrel which I like less and less. It misses half of the shots I take and is terrible in low light. On my head is an Insta 360 Ace Pro. It is the the best as it has a night mode that is great in dull light - supposedly better than the Go Pros? I have a Panasonic camcorder that has night mode (didn’t really use it here) and my I phone for close up talking stuff. The insta 360 is the most seen I guess
Thanks!
@ thanks, I have just got an osmo action pro 5, it will take me a while to get to grips with it. I feel the same about my Shokam. The folk at Shotkam sent me an updated config file that made it more sensitive,so I miss less videos now. What do you use to edit your videos?
@@MrAllanwinks Just basic iMovie. The limits of my capabilities!
@ thanks I will have a look at that, I tried davinci resolve because it’s free and I am tight 😂 but it’s very complicated and advanced, made my brain hurt.
I find a thermal spotter useful without a dog.
Yeah I borrowed one once. Very useful. Id invest if the season wasn't coming to a close.
Very nice!
In N. I. It's an hour before sunrise and an hour after sunset
Great video keep them coming
Brilliant videos
Always enjoy these videos
What model Yildiz 28 bore did you get and do you rate it?
well done all , will we be seeing a dog next season, and more of the fowlers of the future
There'll be a new dog but it likely won't be rushed into service next season, too much too soon - not a mistake im going to make. I will probably be relying on the kayak and my wits again next season!
Happy new year, time goes by too quickly another good watch
another good watch cheers
Good bit of sport there sir! Keep them coming in 2025! Happy new year
Could ya share ya recipe?
Are you going to do a follow up vlog of all your greatest misses, or would that be too long.
Very good
Yes good channel, happy new year!
