    You are certainly getting better at missing them.

    You’re so right. Everywhere that’s any good is always at the far end of the marsh. Helps keep the weight off though!

      @@bell2224 I think it’s the only way with these geese unless you get a young one. Big batch of Cumberland sausage planned when I have 10 lb of mince or so

    Forget about a hide at dusk; just lay down with a back pad and headboard. This takes you nearly level with the ducks when they land in and makes them easier to spot. It's a long apprenticeship!

      @@davidbilbrough3726 yeah I do a bit of that but prefer the hide to be honest. On nights last night in a gale it was nice shelter now I’ve added to it. Great flight…coming soon. Thanks for the tips

    Hi, from Lancs. Educate me, where is the tenderloin from on a goose?

    • @CumbrianWildfowler
      @CumbrianWildfowler  Місяць тому +1

      @@grahamshepherd4847 it’s the inner breast fillet.
      When you take the breast fillet off any game bird or duck/goose there is the main breast fillet and then the separate inner fillet that will separate off and is super tender, even on a tough old goose like this one. I wouldn’t bother pan fry the main breast fillet but the inner pectoralis minor (I think it’s correct term?) is usually tender enough to pan fry

      @@putty2812 I have a German wire haired pointer that will be making an appearance on the snipe soon. I don’t have a retriever. I need one! I will hopefully be getting a Labrador pup in 2025. For now, I have a plastic Labrador- my kayak!

      What a Croc of rubbish who on earth puts decoys out the night before to try and pull geese in to where they are not feeding the day after they are seen😂
