Thanks for watching my videos. As always, this is just a hobby. This channel is not monetized, I have no sponsors, and I am not selling anything. I just like to share my Adventures in Skateboarding. I encourage 40+ year-olds to get back on the board or find something for themselves that brings harmony to their work and personal lives. I am very much still a beginner, but I am willing to put in the work.
And as always, Stay Rad. #Skateboarding #dontcallitacomeback

    Good subject matter. Tho yes.. it took till the 18min mark to explain it(lol) I’m narrowing my setups also to 2-3(given up of non-concave reissues) Consistency and progression really does happen while on a single setup. Tho it’s fun having reissues, I’ve relegated them to nostalgic 80s mementos.

    • @AdventuresInSkateboarding
      @AdventuresInSkateboarding 8 днів тому

      I think I found my perfect setup. However, while skating it i am also testing 2 other setups. Because I have an addiction 😂. For the reissues, I made a rule this year. I won't buy a board without a good nose for noseslides. That simple rule has kept me straight so far. However the new orange Roskopp is pretty tempting 😂.

    Good video! Wished it was sunny day tho(lol) With the bowl cement, everything’s so gloomy and grey. Maybe next video! A few thought I had. 1) The drop-in part is too far away. Can’t even see it. There’s a lot to this part that’s not mentioned, like maybe having the camera stationed right beside the drop in, that’ll help explain a lot of the step by steps to the viewer. 2) the wheelbase info and foot placement tidbits is a bit skimpy. Finding a comfortable foot-spread for your body height/weight is important here. Personally I place my front foot over-top the first two front bolts(not over the front bolts) But that’s me.

      @AdventuresInSkateboarding 7 днів тому

      I don't disagree with any of this. I don't really plan my videos, I just go skate and if a video happens and video happens. I usually don't talk to the camera at all while I skate. I definitely used the wrong camera or lens. I didn't realize how bad it was until I was editing. However, this is a pretty blue color operations to begin with. I don't have any filming or editing experience outside of these skate videos. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't. In the end I am glad I posted it. It seemed to be helpful to more than not. Again, I completely agree with you.

I got the big ol' Ace Pelka deck, setting that up in a few weeks. I like the R7 decks, nice and snappy, they don't get soggy too quickly. I started snatching up as many on sale as I could. Hi. Great video thanks for making it. Really helpful. Definitely wear the gear. I'm a late age beginner and a week ago despite wearing all the pads, except I wasn't wearing a helmut and don't have hip pads (never knew about them I think I'll buy them too) had a simple fall and dislocated my shoulder. I've been wind, kite surfing and foiling for 25 years and it's never happened before. Difference between water and concrete right. The most painful experience of my life in agony for 3 hours in hospital emergency. I'll be so nervous in a few weeks when hopefully I can try again. Regard.

      It was a good trip down to Orlando. We didn't over UA-cam it. Just an honest session with a bit of humor. I don't know how to quit. If I invest that much time, I must get it or all that time was wasted. Stay Rad Sir.

    Looks good! That’s a great effort, but you probably learned a lot. I tend to try to not let myself get frustrated. I try not to let my mind wonder to outcomes I don’t want, which happens a lot if things aren’t coming together quickly. I personally, depending on the trick I’m trying, visualize how I saw it best done, by who, in what video, to what song, and then I play that perfect version in my head to that same song in the video I first saw it in, in my head as I approach it. That’s my method anyways. The other is finding combos that work to set me up for the next trick with foot positioning and proper speed. Take the time to set the foot right in one go of it’s off. I noticed you needed more speed for that heel up the bank right flat. Good work though!!

    • @AdventuresInSkateboarding
      @AdventuresInSkateboarding Місяць тому

      Great method. Speed is my biggest hang-up in skating. I definitely need to skate faster. I lose board control at speed. I am working on it. If I can fix the speed, I think a lot more will come together. Thanks for checking it out and sharing your method. Stay Rad Sir.

    • @mikeuptegrove
      @mikeuptegrove Місяць тому

      @@AdventuresInSkateboarding yeah, even an extra push would’ve given you the speed you needed up the bank for the heel. I know speed is often a confidence thing, but going a bit faster up the bank than you do normal heels will balance out as you lose speed on the incline. Plus you’ll have more setup and pop time cause you can snap earlier and still land at the same spot. Imagine flip going up rather than flip once you’re there. Once your there, the catch gets hard cause gravity wants to finish by pulling you back down before you’ve landed. So if you’re already inclined to be at a disadvantage there, it also makes washing out more likely, like that slam you had. If you had used your speed to pop and flick earlier, you could’ve caught it still going up the incline landed before gravity wants you going backwards, stomped it securely and then engaged your Roll back into fakie.

      I need to skate faster. Honestly, I lose board control at speed. I need more board time than once a week. Soon. 💯

    I feel the same. Trying to connect multiple tricks into lines is so hard and so much work. Is that a Team Pain skatepark? Seeing it from the other side made me realize how much it looks like Slocum out of Denver. Psyched to see you back. 👊👍

    • @AdventuresInSkateboarding
      @AdventuresInSkateboarding Місяць тому

      It is a Team pain Park. There is a big bowl on the uper level too. The lines are definitely work. I am not sure if it is connected to my back and never damages or experience. I have trouble transitioning the muscles to the next trick. I will just keep pushing until either there is progression or the body breaks in half. Those are the only options. Stay Rad Sir.
