We bought the identical Same machine last year and lost the instructions This is video the best video on demonstrating how to use it. Thanks.
Yes it’s a good unit a bit on the costly side on the electric it uses but work’s excellent.
Thanks for that 😀. Never really meant it as a review just to show my subs. Does cost a bit to run but what price for a good nights sleep. Enjoy.
I got the same one from screwfix last year - absolute god send and well worth the money when you get those really hot days
Just picked one of these up used for 175 well worth it for summer
Really useful. I'm in the market to buy a unit and reading lots of reviews for various makes, many comments on noise levels. Having never owned air con I was curious about just how noisy these things are, and now I know!
Bet you're glad you got that air con unit for this year's summer 🤦🏻♂️😁
Well yeah. We have used it twice though inc this week when the daytime temp hit 31 deg c.
ive got one like it and i love mine it keeps me comfertable at night!
Hi ya Fred,Great video mate, i recently purchased the 9000 Btu portable Air con unit made by Burfam , it’s been great during the recent extreme temperatures, I needed a hose extension and also got the window kit which seals the window opening, I wouldn’t be without it and although noisy it made for a comfortable nights sleep , all the best mate Joely Joel
Nice 👍
What is the coolest temperature achievable it is approaching 30c in my room. Also insulating the hose out the back is a game changer
BTU is British Thermal Unit. It's a proper imperial unit... The energy required to raise 1 pound of water 1 degree Fahrenheit. 12kBTU is a good amount for a moderate-to-large American room. Probably overkill for your bedroom. The downside is that it will short-cycle. If you have more power than you need, the fan and compressor will power-cycle more often than design spec, and it will wear out prematurely. Hopefully your UK summers will stay moderate enough to offset the additional wear!
Thats great. Thanks for the info.
@NRD - what if you have an air conditioner with less power than you need. E.g. my room needs 10k BTU, what if I got 9k BTU. Any downside?
@@mk90The downside is your room may not get as cool as you want it or the compressor will run for longer than it would have done with the more powerful unit.
Nice work Fred , I definitely need one of these for next summer 😁👌
How do you turn off the dehumidifier on, I'm having to put a bucket every night to drain the water from it.
Hi. Its the small button with the 3 lines and dots on. It cycles trough cold / heat humid etc.
Would you say this is cheaper to heat the home that gas radiators with the current prices in gas and electric, we have this one just not sure whats more economical.
I have this but the manual doesn’t say what the thin hose is for ? Is it purely for the de humidifier option ?
For draining the machine
I remember me and u talking about one of these years ago. I hate these hot nights so stuff the cost hahaha just make me cool so i can sleep haha.
Hi Gary. Yes i rem. They are expensive on the leccy but i tell you it really helped with sleep over the recent hot weather.
Nice one Fred!
Hi Lewis. Thanks bud.
Never used it as a heater would you need the hose out the window if using it as a heater?
No i dont think so.
Do you find you use it more than just heatwaves? I'm thinking you get an idea of what you like the room set to and set it to that everyday in the summer
No we only use it during spells of hot weather. Our electric bill has doubled in 12 months so its too expensive.
@@UK-CB-RADIO Just bought one from Lidl £179 for a 7000BTU unit, works very well :) - I'm wondering how long the cold lasts before it starts climbing again, I'm double glazed
Good video
I bought one last year, god send, its hot again now in june am thinking of buying another but not sure if I would get away with a 9000btu my poor dogs can't cope with the heat, excellent video thank you
What did you get i want one for my room did it work and what temperature did you achieve
@@oumuamua1963 yes I bought another it’s arriving this monday , I run it from around 1100 to 2000h it a lovely cool breeze that comes out of it and reduces my kitchen which has a lot of glass down by 8 to 10 c
Just brought the same one today, but noticed the air flow flaps dont open automatically, is this normal? Can see it has a motor (cogs) but ive had to open it bu hand, any help?
Thankyou
Hi. Yes mine are not motorised.
Sounds stupid, but does anyone know if you unscrew the back panel to clean the inside of the air conditioner? I work in a dog groomers and despite regularly cleaning the accessible filters, the inside is very hairy but I'm worried about breaking something 🤣 not using it at the moment as it's a fire hazard until sorted
Thinking of putting one of these in my man cave.
How hot does the pipe get as I have rock wool insulation and worried it might set on fire
Mine gets just warm to touch.
We've had one for 2 years and it's worked great but suddenly the motor stops after a few minutes. I've checked the vents and everything looks clear, the motor is getting hot but not much is happening. We've only used it a few days a year so I'm surprised that it's breaking now, I've tried to look up a fix but nothing seems to come up, if anyone could guide me I'd appreciate it, the heat has been unbearable this week! :(
Did you resolve the issue?
Hi, how’s this holding up a year later?
Still using it. I think its got louder maybe a rattle on high power but its working.
I have one of these units, it just over two years old but for some reason the cooling option now doesnt work, it's just like an expensive fan now! Does anyone have any advice for what it could be? I've cleaned it, emptied the drain etc and nothing has worked.. its not a unit that can be regassed so not sure what else it could be! If anyone knows that would be amazing!
Not sure mate, might be a dodgy thermostat. Do you know how to drain any water out, only use ac mode and not sure how. Tia
@@anthonysharp4404 Yeah we've drained the water and we've used just the A/C for the past two years so it's really random to know have just packed in! I'll take a look at the thermostat, thank you
How do you drain the water
@@Dinkydoodle1did you manage to fix it?
How do you drain it
Mine has a screw on cap near the bottom that you undo.
Did you just put the unit into dehumidify mode 'H2' and leave it? Mine doesn't seem to collect any water, with or without a hose...
Update on the water bucket?
I hear there are ones that don’t require the bucket or drain. Sounds like this one evaporates most of it.
I’ll forward this to friends in the uk.
Hi Yes it mostly self evaporates. They recon about 1000 hours till it needs a drain but i will do it at the end of the summer.
Hello how do I drain the water
Cooler show be FU and stop working anyone got that happen before ?
That means the water tank is full. You need to drain it.
Hello, thanks for the review , I recently got my unit and it cools very well, but i was experiencing a weird sound when i run it at 22 C like icing water or something, did you face this sound and is it normal ?
