Make compound curves using thick insulation foam and sand it down. i used this on the tail support on my 40k scale Ork Eavy Landa. ua-cam.com/users/shortsnlSq6y69TXQ
Crazy wizardry from start to finish
I've been inspired by some ships I've seen on thumbnails, if I build, only one will look really like the thumbnail but only one part and I've plans in my head that will differentiate the model by adding details that don't exist in the thumbnail illustration. I'm pretty sure the illustrations were probably AI generated, so not sure if they could claim a copyright hit if I publish the building of, or a video of the finished model. Right now probably just the finished ship. That's if I ever start building. It will be skinned with Styrene, but I think the interior support structure will be foam core.
What cut settings did you use?
I really like your work I’m sad it seems like you don’t make videos anymore
First off, what a great build. Reminded me of the more organic shapes in my beloved Star Blazers. Do you need a pin vise? It would make quick work of that lighting.
I love the music you chose for this video 👍
Awesome stuff! The music was a little bit too loud though, it was difficult to hear you speaking clearly 😊
The snap, crack, and pop is so satisfying …..
SUPERIPERMEGAGALAKTIK 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯😲🙃
doesn't the primer destroy the detail of the photo-etched parts?
you should have made it like the gamey sent you a ship that has his fungis blight so the mushroom should have been a lil more flat but i still really love it
hell yeah i love this Collab this is cool
do you/did you used to prototype with paper first? or are you going straight to styrene at this point after so much experience?
Dang, who ever showed you you could put the weld on in the bottom of that cut up can might be a heroin addict. Awesome vid though btw
Inspiring work! Thanks for sharing :)
Beautiful work! I just started watching your channel, loving every minute of it!!
The split frontend on UNSC frigates is for the integrated MAC, or Magnetic/Mass Accelerator Cannon, you can see it in use in Halo: Reach where the Paris class Frigate Grafton fires on a covenant spire. They don't fire from the gap but I believe the gap is needed for heat dissipation, since the only frigate class that doesn't have a full size MAC doesn't have this pronged stern.
what knife do you use please? what is thw styrene thickness? what are the blade and force settings?
Your thumbnail made me almost not watch, the gun is way too visible
The F117's original proof of concept aircraft code named "have blue" had the vertical stabilisers tilted inward like on the F-19. Both crashed but gave enough useful data for the program to be greenlit.
Thanks for the video. Please, can you tell me the name of the track, that playing on 06:40?
i like it a lot
I saw the rest from Gameyy on his channel. When I see him, or studson, or bill making stuff, or CTG, Boylei, minibricks, JJcreator… I feel in heaven. Now I’m subscribed on your channel and belled! Well done! I hope your channel will be greater!
Love your work but I wonder if you could paint glow in the dark paint like just some areas them is black light and watch it glow
Your tutorials and instructions and documentation and tips on building with styrene are great, but what I most want to see - especially when you're building from reference like this - is how you build your patterns. Are you modeling the whole ship in a CAD program or pepakura, or starting from paper sketches and freehand cut styrene parts that you refine, then take apart to make patterns for the final video? This would be really great to see, since you do such a great job of it, both with your own designs and the ships you're building from reference, and it's in most ways a much more difficult and unobvious part of the process.
You channel is so relaxing =)
Hexagons are bestagons.
Great collab. Nice touch with the organic sculpting.
whats the song used from 22:30
When you did the side vent/engine thing at the wrong scale, *hey,* free greebly for another future project! Happy little accident.
crap sound
I thought the very original design was for the Falcon.
I like the rusty base color on the ship, makes it look like it's been floating around for a while
That was a cool build. I think it would only be proper to call that growth a space-ticle. Maybe... Blighticle.
I have mostly messed with warhammer miniatures, but I love how you are able to build what you see in your mind! What kind of scribe do you have or would recommend?
SOJOURN LOVE!!! Always great to see it!
4:08 Plastic crud removal... Invest in a de-burring tool / reaming pen. It's a sub $10 tool that looks like a pen with a gently hooked blade that swivels freely in the tip of the tool. You drag it over a burred edge and it cuts off the crud. The swivel blade easily follows contours for a nice clean edge.
Excellent job on the assembly of the inserts on the sides. They fit like the model was injection molded.
Is it just me or is the scale for the cargo containers a little off? Shouldn't they be a little bigger?
I'm gonna have to add one of those printers to my Wishlist lol
What is your recommended alternative to the weld-on 3 adhesive? Thanks
I'd say first my choice would be plain CA glue, though if you're looking for a cement I know Tamiya and Testors make plastic cements that work well.
@ Just realized I have Plasrtruct. I tried it and it works. Thanks for responding
I built the 1/48th scale Testor kit when it came out and it is still on my shelf. I have another one along with a couple of Mig-37s in my stash. I'll have to pull them out. Thanks for the memories.
When painting on a PINK, start with a YELLOW - it works amazingly for my tabletop miniatures
An older model maker who goes by the UA-cam name Aztek Dummy (www.youtube.com/@aztekdummy) lights a ton of his models and it looks like you could use a lot of his techniques. His name is Lou Dalmaso and while his videos aren't slick, they're really informative. Right now, (Oct/Nov 2024) he's working on a large scale Enterprise D and what he's doing for lighting it would have worked for you as well.
Would be cool to have lighting.
I saw the thumbnail and knew exactly what artist this was.
Absolute stellar job with this paint job, and the masking work is on point. I really love how well the decals are blended. One thing that keeps coming up though, and I might be overthinking this, seeing as it's an entirely fictional design and there's a certain "rule of cool" that goes with that. However, as much as I love rust effects and corrosion in weathering, I can't help but wonder how the hull of a spaceship would oxitize in space without the presence of, well, oxygen. Sure, paint would probably get worn away by impacts from microscopic debris, so you could get away with showing bare metal and chipped/dusty paint, however unless the ship were to interact with an atmosphere on a regular basis, I don't really see rust forming. Storage containers though, might be a different story, if they're stored in a pressurised holding area. Again, just a thought!
