Using diffusion with softbox just beats the purpose of the beauty dish (the distinct look).

Can you comment on how noisy the fan gets on the Neewer SL 60? Also, what mic are you using in the video (I see you have a decent windshield). Is it a dynamic mic like the SB7, or a Cad E100S Supercardioid Condenser Microphone? I would think both might ignore the fan sound better than other choices. Couldn't find the Neewer Sl 60 but I purchased a Neewer EX-60 (half off for 4th of July sale). In a youtube video test it was about 4 decimals louder than the Goddox. Thanks in advance for your thoughts

Lol... OK thanks for the video... But why do you get SO close to the camera... Is just weird.

Just tried on my A7 II 1) turn off, wait 10 seconds, turn on & off, change battery, lost clock again 2) quick swap battery, 9 out of 10 will lost the clock 3) use usb charge the camera for 36 hours, swap battery, lost the clock My workaround Before the battery drop to 0%, swap a full charge battery on the fly (do not turn off your camera), the clock now saved.

I have the KIT SONY zv-e10 ZOOM lens. I believe its 16-50. I usually shoot it set at 45mm. Which PRIME lends here would match that?

the 50mm droppedd 15 lbs, the 85mm made him look better. The 20-30mm made him look fat, super fat or is he just fat?

Nice comparison. Also saw your review comparing the light dome mini ii. I’m surprised you didn’t like the light output of the mini ii but like the beauty dish (42cm) here even though it’s smaller than the mini ii (55cm) Now I wonder if a larger 55cm beauty dish would provide the perfect balance of output and compact size. I also think that the beauty dish here looks good even though it has more contrasty shadow roll off. Maybe a larger beauty dish balances that out.

Hi, i have Magewell 4 input and require PCI e 4x,i use with 2 pc, one with X99 and another more recent with 20 totale lanes, and in the first gtx 970, the second pc gtx 1650 and after rtx 3070. No problem, work for 3 days 24 hr live (streaming the day recording in loop at night) without restart the pc. Magewell and Elgato, the big difference its the price . And the quality, the driver, work perfect with Vmix. I think Elgato too cheap and its a bad project, the quality has a price, best regards

The other day I did a photo shoot down by this beautiful Pond and during that time I was there there were 35 mph winds! 😅😅😅 we had a hell of a time.... In the end I took off the 36-in softbox and went with my Beauty Dish

So if i have a aps-c mirrorless i should get a 35mm which would give me about 52mm correct?

I'm using a dummy battery, but I pretty much leave it in all the time and still have this problem. Just so I understand, are you saying after I turn it off, I should turn it on again after 10 seconds?

Maybe it is just me but i like the smaller one better, unless you like that dark look which reminds me of scary movies vs the smaller box more light gives a happier feel. I mean why are we in the dark with a light shining on half your face, i get it is a thing just not for me. Very dull and unnatural unless you are possibly in a movie, almost like you dont want any light at all. Got exactly what i was looking for in this video.

You just saved me, thank you. Just bought a used a6300 and giving it the once over. It was really starting to frustrate me as I was swapping batteries and updating firmware. I thought the camera had an issue. And it was just me pulling the battery.

Normally you would use the beauty dish without the diffusor, otherwise you just make a small softbox out of it. Also you would bring a dish that small size much closer to you unless you want that harsh light look.

Very mild difference but it’s better to have a beauty dish, it’s cheaper, less power and lesser space. I’d try a beauty dish as well
