Trying To Recreate The Lighting Setup Of

I am a long time fan of @Expel and I've been wanting to make this video for ages. Today it finally happened. It turned out ok but I think I was way off in a few areas, on the whole though I think the general techniques were quite close. As always I had good fun trying to figure this out! I love the look of his channel and can't wait to see what he comes up with next.

Remember you saying you were going to do this, so here’s the actual setup, which will be changing soon!
• A7C, Sigma 30mm lens on Autofocus (minimal responsiveness),
• Camera about 3 foot away, obviously on my left at around face height, slightly angled down. - I think you may have caught a zoomed frame.
• 2 Elgato Keylights with One light set vertically right beside the camera
• Hair light is set about a foot back, and then 6 feet over clamped to the desk
• Lamps don’t matter too much, but it’s some Philips hue lights
• Elgato light strips behind the desk set to a lighter red in around 20%

Thanks so much, I’m so happy you watched it! I knew I should have gone with my gut about the 30mm lens and I actually have one which is annoying! Sorry if I absolutely butchered it but it was really good fun trying to figure it out.

Thanks Richard, it is really good fun and to be honest I’ve been doing it for years, just never made videos about it before 😂
Pretty much everything you see in my videos has been taken from others but I do really enjoy the daylight hair light and that will be staying at least for the time being. Glad you’re enjoying them!
