Let me correct you RENGOKU used FLAME BREATHING and TANJIRO was using SUN BREATHING(hinokami Kagura). Fire Breathing doesn't exist.

Sun breathing is the first breathing style and the most powerful of them all. Shirlay was right that you have to have an affinity toward it. Tanjiro recognizes it as fire breathing but Rengoku's dad corrects him by telling him its actual name is Sun breathing. I won't confirm anything else but side note Kerby looks huge what are you feeding him? home boy is hitting the gym.

9:31 The first breathing is “sun breathing.” Rengoku’s family did “flame breathing.” The problem is that they were saying verbally, “hi no kokyuu” and normally you would think the “hi”means “fire” (火) but probably in the Flame Hashira’s history books, they had written the “hi no kokyuu” as 日の呼吸 where the “hi” part means “sun.” It could be that in the manga they revealed it as such in that scene where the drunken Rengoku got pissed at Tanjiro for being a Sun breathing user. Tanjiro, btw, refers to his style as “hi no kami kagura breathing.” “Hi no kami” btw, most likely means “fire god,” as Tanjiro’s family had a long line of charcoal makers. However, I can’t verify this as I’m not a manga reader.

Yup it is Sunbreathing. Tanjiuro called Flame breathing "fire breathing" which they corrected.
