2:15 “It (Yoshiwara, the Red Light District) may be the biggest one, but it can’t be the only one.” Actually, it’s the only (legal) one in Edo. It was a huge, wall-enclosed section of the city including the “entertainment” portions along with living quarters for the workers there. The other licensed red light districts were in two other cities, Kyoto and Osaka.
To pose as a Yoshiwara courtesan, Nezuko would have to take off her muzzle, and I don’t think Tanjiro would want her to do that. Also, another reason Nezuko can’t be an undercover courtesan is that she has no “training” for that line of work. She hasn’t been trained to dance, sing, play musical instruments, play games, or have a witty conversation, which is what the top courtesans, the oiran, have to be able to do. Otherwise, she’d have to just be an ordinary sex worker, and I don’t think you’d want her to do that.

11:36 “Osumi? That’s nothing like ‘Tanjiro.’” “That’s random.” Actually, the first kanji in Tanjiro’s name 炭治郎 means “charcoal.” “Tan” is the “Chinese” reading of that kanji, but the Japanese, or common word reading, is “sumi.” “Ko” 子 (meaning “child”) is a common ending for girls’ names, but Tanko is a really weird name. Sumiko, on the other hand, is a common girl’s name. The “o” in front of “Osumi” is an honorific, to say Tanjiro’s name more politely. You see “o” said in front of words like “ojiisan / ojiichan” (grandfather/old man), “okaasan” (mother), but if said more casually, they become just “jiisan, kaasan,” etc.

23:04 “You’re telling me the Hashira guy doesn’t see all this? Where is he?” Usui Tengen was informed his wife headed to the Kirimise. The Kirimise were living quarters for the poorer workers and also where they could get some medical attention. It’s in a different part of Yoshiwara far from this “entertainment” section that Daki and Tanjiro are fighting at.
