Join us as we recap everything we accomplished in Year 2 on our property-from major projects like reconnecting power and water, to the little things that made a big difference. See how far we've come!
Cheap & Easy RV Skirt | S2 E14 | No More Frozen Water Pipes
Переглядів 6269 місяців тому
After some very cold nights we can confirm this helps A LOT! We review our issues with freshly built roads and cold temps! Per usual, we're pressed for time and go with a cheap and easy solution for skirting our RV. The idea here is to keep some warmer air underneath the RV to help keep the pipes from freezing. We're betting you don't need a $1,000 skirt!

Will all of our hard work pay off?? Unfortunately, we didn't film dropping the pump pack into the well but in this video, we begin working on everything above ground! Crossing our fingers we get flowing water!
Installing A Pitless Adapter For Well Water (Part 2) | S2 E12 | Jack Hammer, Pex Pipe, and Pitless

A few steps closer to pumping water out of this abandoned well. We wrap up the last bit of trenching and Pex line work in this video and get started jackhammering some of the concrete! Next steps? TURN IT ON!
Trenching for Water (Part 1) | S2 E11 | MORE DIGGING???

Yes, more digging... It's the last 50ft of trenching this season and now we're one step closer to having running water on the property.
Blockhouse Demolition! | S2 E10 | Well Pump Installation Prep
Переглядів 28611 місяців тому
Now that we have power and the well shed is built, we're moving on to the water projects! The first step is to take down the old structure around the well pipe. After a couple hours with a sledgehammer, we've got a pile of rubble to deal with, but we're one step closer to installing the pitless adapter!
We Have POWER!! | S2 E9 | Reconnecting To the Grid after 15 Years!
Переглядів 73311 місяців тому
We weighed the pros and cons of a permanent off-grid setup (factoring our budget, timeline, and location) and ultimately decided to reconnect our abandoned property to grid power! This week we worked on building a new well shed, trenching ~200 feet to the power pole on our property, and wired up our main panel. TVF has power after almost 16 years!

12:35 - Volkswagen Scirocco, made from 1974 - 81 in first series, built by Karmann in germany. Very, very rare today and only the rear lights are worth a lot. Not very good idea to scrap it, you should have google first................

Ah well! You win some you lose some! It was 90% rusted through on the inside so I doubt many parts would have been reusable. Glass and tail lights? Maybe, but you probably wouldn't make much after shipping. The intrinsic value of having it gone is good enough for us :)
