- This video is on the shorter side because sometimes Ary forgets to press the "record" button! But we finally got rid of that massive trash pile we've been building.
Y’all might think about a burn barrel and you can put a grate over the opening to help stuff from flying out. I grew up on 20 acres and we had to burn most of our trash. Love yalls hard work, keep it up and it will pay off. Also there are lots of people who live to pickup and haul off scrap metal. I suggest joining some of the local buy, sale, trade pages in that community. Facebook is also a great place to buy tools and stuff you might need, as well as, sell stuff you don’t need!
Definitely looking into the burn barrel idea! The scrap pile is growing and we were originally thinking of taking it ourselves- we don't have a trailer yet so finding someone to pick it up would certainly be mutually beneficial!
Just found your channel and kudos to you both. We bought 90 acres in Maine and have enough junk to clean up, you’ve got us beat. Property looks like it will have stunning potential. Glad we subscribed and will follow your journey.
Awesome! Thank you! I believe we're over 10 tons of just trash so far 😆
I look forward to every new episode!!!
Thanks Aunt Betty :)
Did you consider burning the cardboard and paper in your would fire? When we go to our river property, we burn as much paper and cardboard in our camp fire. It's really great for starting our fires to. I see you are in Nevada, maybe that's not a possibility. I live in a very wet part of the country. There are a few months we are not allowed to burn. There is no dump area near where we camp. We bring everything back the 200 miles.
We're actually not in Nevada but we do burn whatever we can possibly burn clean during burn season. This particular dump load was fiberglass insulation and the things from the shed that were covered in rat feces that we wouldn't burn because we don't want any of that airborne. We're also in a dry area so burns were suspended at this time but we've got some piles ready to go and we're really looking forward to winter so we can resume burning 😁
Did you see that wagon thing at the dumps. It could have been so cute to fix up and tow behind the quad or set up out at the property entrance. :-)
Yes! I think it was a bench, but they have a strict No Scavenging rule there :P
