Next week I’m planning on getting my peers set and figuring out which direction I’m going to face, I am very lucky with having the only property in the area, that is on the lake so definitely my sunset views should be great, the lake goes east west. Also if I’m going to be alone with my Great Dane most of the time staying 2 weeks to month at a time. Do you think 10x12 wall tent going to be to small? That’s why I was going with a 12x16 platform extra 4 feet for the fly, and 1 foot on each side so I can tie Down sides. I’m just thinking if 10x12 is going to be to small. Anyway thanks for the suggestions.
Hey there! I know this reply will be late for your project but we'd love to hear about how it went! The total area under cover is 12x24. 12'x14' tent and 8' extended fly. We opted to have the tent sit right on the edge so that water would run off the walls straight to the ground rather than pool on a deck. 10x12 may be a little small for long-term stays, but I think it really depends on what you are trying to do inside the tent, if you plan on an outdoor kitchen/living space, I would think it would be plenty for 1+dog.
