We Keep Finding More Garbage | EPISODE 8 | Spring Cleaning

We're making progress! We added some finishing touches to the canvas tent, consolidated our collection of tires, emptied one of the five vehicles of trash, burned some [more] brush, cleared a walking path along the creek, and still had time to spend a whole day in bed :)

Tires will hold back the erosion around the tent. Property is looking good.

Thanks so much! Going into our first winter, erosion will likely be an issue, and we really like the idea of recycling the tires that way. Very cool suggestion!

@@troublevalleyfarm stack the tires similar to how bricks are stacked and pack gravel and dirt into them to make a wall. Allow them to angle backwards towards the slope. Leave about 2 feet minimum from the tent wall. You will have insects. Get used to them and invite beneficial insects to stay. Mice will be a problem, so that little snake, is your best friend. Snakes are amazing for eating mice and some insects. I consider them good luck. They also eat poisonous snakes. I don't know your location. In Virginia, we have black snakes which are worth their weight in gold for being "mousers". Best wishes.

Thanks for the suggestions!! We want to try to utilize them in some way. A retaining wall might be the perfect use.
