Woodward Acres
United States
Приєднався 9 лип 2017
Woodward Acres is a small acreage in Jones County, Iowa. We are an up-and-coming tree farm and we create rustic furniture. More importantly, this is just a place for us to share a bit about what it takes to keep our acreage going.
We moved to the country and every day we learn and do more projects to maintain and improve our property for not only ourselves but also our kids.
Things you will find here: Videos using our older John Deere 2025r and our new John Deere 4044m tractors. Using our many tractor implements (Tarter 3pt Tiller, King Kutter Rotary Cutter/Bushhog, Frontier box blade, Countyline Rear Blade, Potato Plow). Using and maintaining our Polaris Sportsman ATV, Polaris Ranger Crew 1000, and our John Deere z915e commercial mower. Retaining walls, concrete projects, gardening, raised vegetable beds, and anything else that comes up.

KemiMoto Cargo Box vs. Yeti vs. Plano Sportsman Tote
Product review of the KemiMoto 45L Cargo Box and the KemiMoto 20L Cargo Box for your Polaris Ranger vs. a Plano Sportsman Tote vs. Yeti LoadOut Gobox.
We were sent these cargo boxes for extra storage on your UTV (Polaris Ranger). They work well and are waterproof and very durable for the money. I believe they are in the sweet spot when thinking about features vs. cost. You certainly can spend a lot more money but I am not sure you need to. I certainly don't need to waste money.

Cheap Landscape Edging Idea [No one has done this!]
Переглядів 6 тис.Рік тому
At Woodward Acres, we needed to do some landscaping behind a large retaining wall that was built to hold up the Amish Pole Building that was stood up in under 2 days. I was concerned and wanted to prevent any washout so putting down some cheap landscaping edging to hold rocks back was a pretty good solution. I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg to pay for the landscape edging idea so I ended...

Fixing a Channel Drain [On Gravel Driveway]
Same using two stakes from the start would save a lot of problems?
Love it, keep up the good work.
So. two years later, any lessons learned ? What would you do differently, if any ?
Your secret is noted. I will not be saying anything about the $4k in cash. (Or the case of beer!)
Where is your beer? You need to drink a beer when you’re grilling smoking and just enjoying the day.
Depending on the approach or direction of the wind coming at the plants, I wonder if you added some wooden posts to the outside of your fence line to disrupt the majority of the strong gusts, cutting the probability down substantially.
The end result is fantastic and done fast. Each knows what they are doing for sure. But zero safety in such muddy conditions. Also the messiest job site ever.
Your little helper was doing a fantastic job and I agree with her those 4x4 post are heavy. 😊❤
How long is the break in period for the at125ex
What a cool dad - a great helper too.keep making memories, brother. My dad never taught me stuff like that so I have to hire people. He did support me in music, though. Now I pay guys like you from playing a stinkin saxophone all over SC. Cheers!
I needed this video!!!
Would a 12 year old new rider find that it goes fast enough?
Lots of variables in your question but I would think they would initially but could find that want more power in short order. My son is now 12 and he rides my 550, he’s not allowed to go crazy but the Coleman would be too small for him.
My son is a tiny 12 so I’m thinking this might be a one season warm up for him. The. My daughter would be on it. It would be more for work than play.
I got the PBC 5+ years ago. The only thing I don't like about it was the lack of the option for a drip pan. They say the juices falling into the coals is a feature, but that just just too much smoke on top of the natural smoke from the coals and the smoke from hardwood if you are using it and that's besides that fact that that kind of smoke just isn't what I'm looking for personally.
The hard part was the plastic pieces the legs pushed into. If you did not do it perfectly the bolt holes would not line up and the bolts would not go in. Then, it was near impossible to remove or spin the plastic piece as it was so tight. I stripped one bolt out during installation.
Your RoPs bar is wrong lmao
Charlotte, NC. This is what I need to keep the water from pooling by my back door.
What kind of dirt did they use in the post holes?
Hm, half of the oils i find ate for disel and i asked my pops an him figures that the stuff is too thick
I have the same issue I bought the same item. I am going to put mine down soon I hope it works.
Extra 10k and you'd be in the nice warm cab ! And super cool on those hot August days ????
I didn’t have an extra 10k at the time
U never moved any of the stones lol
Good Job. I Would Use Glue And Every 12 Inches I Would Install Tapcon Screws
just got one off a guy it starts, runs, revs, lights work, but it wont move neither in D or R. What could be the issue?
I’m sorry nothing comes to mind. Maybe go to your local powersports place and they can help?
how about a how to video on how to make a fence around a tree? that would be great
Good idea
How do you connect the two ends to make the circle?
Had the greatest neighbor ever next door for 8 years. Seven months ago he died, and now I'm stuck with his widow who is an absolute nightmare. Completely out to lunch 90% of the time. After her dogs killed my chickens for the second time in 6 months, I am done with her. And what kills me is I've been nothing but neighborly to this witch since her husband died, and she repays me by killing all of my animals. What's worse is I have to look at her dogs running up and down the fence line happy as hell and full of life while all of my animals are dead. Anyway, this brings me to your video. What did you dig those post holes with?
Sorry to hear about that. I had a post hole digger on my tractor
Mekhi Burgs
Got the problem but my neighbors are kin put up with it too long I have already planted the post nice thank you.
I'm not sure which I enjoyed more... Watching you empower your peep or your real life pull starts! Thanks for the great video
I saw the windows of the backrooms 94 there
planted apple trees on Thursday. Bought and applied "deer repellant" Friday morning. Saturday morning the deer walked up the "deer repellant" perimeter, sniffed it, walked up to the trees and started nibbling. Deer repellant my ass. Im off to TSC to buy some fence.
Sorry to hear that. I haven’t heard about much success with those. At least with fence you know they stay out. Have a good weekend
@@WoodwardAcres is 48 inch tall enough typically?
@@Black70Fastbackyes that is plenty tell
Mine needs a new motor. Any suggestions out there
Hmm I really don’t know. Would something at harbor freight work?
Hello. Looking to do the same thing with blue spruce. How much did they go for after a year and a half or so?
It’s takes a year to get established then they grew another foot
@WoodwardAcres Sorry, I should've clarified. How much did they sell for?
That’s not a bad number at all.
Thanks
yep installed the wrong way, the strip should be facing inward behind the door, inside the garage and not to the outside, but whatever floats your boat!
Yup lots of folks have pointed that out. I just try to be relatable as a person who makes mistakes, big difference is I record mine and share them for entertainment
Peace back.. 😅
Thank you
What type and length of screws did you use?
Exterior grade screws, probably 3 in
One thing I do not like is the screw pattern on a brand new steel panels they don’t snap lines and it looks terrible screws zigzag up and down bad finish work
I just looked and they appear pretty straight to me but I also know they didn’t snap a line. That would bother me if they were way off
Do u actually own any acres or just the yard and house?
I have 6 acres - not a ton but that’s what we have
Aye, good effort. I'll probably go with French Drain over this way though, for my gravel driveway on a slope. Where you are, I can see your approach working good. Me - Strathcarron, Scotland....a lot wetter! 🙂
We are located in Iowa, USA. Your area looks beautiful. I have spent several weeks in Edinburgh for work but never made it very far out of the city. It’s been a few years since I put that drain in, it works well but it does need cleaned out every spring
At 7:04 minutes you asked the question, “What would you do? “. My answer, “Delete this awful video from your UA-cam channel ”. Why? Numerous commenters have already mentioned you installed your “Jin&Bao Universal Seal Strip” backwards yet you continue to collect funding from UA-cam. When installed backwards, rainwater streaming down the outside of the garage door will be directed towards the inside of your garage. Wonder how many viewers have made the same installation error based on your video.? At 1:23 minutes, using the Jin&Bao Amazon page, take a look at the 5th photo from the left. This is the correct orientation of the threshold seal. As one of your commenter’s said, “find a better video”. Lots better YT videos available , which will show: 1) better method to prepare concrete floor for glue (sand, wash, vacuum), 2) how to clean bottom of seal with rubbing alcohol, 3) how ends of seal should go under & outside of garage door metal rails, 4) how 100% waterproof construction adhesive should be selected (not Loctite Power Grab indoor rated glue where even Loctite’s data sheets reads “Limitation, Not suitable for permanently damp or underwater areas”, I used Gorilla Heavy Duty Construction Adhesive 266 ml / 9 oz tube. ,5) how pencil lines should be drawn on both sides of seal, 6) how glue should be applied more evenly to the concrete floor so both inside and outside edge of seal are securely glued down. Surely times aren’t so tough that you need to collect UA-cam funding from your awful video. Do the right thing. Delete it ! 😎. P.S. The Jin&Bao threshold seal works great, especially if you also install the matching Jin&Bao Garage Door Bottom Weather Stripping Rubber Seal at the same time . I pushed a 1/2 inch garden hose into that circular section to fill it out the full length of the bottom seal. I’m now 100% waterproof during windy rainstorms.
Last I knew amish don't use cordless impacts and skid steers 🤷♂️
How it was explained to me was they could use them but they couldn’t own them.
How do you access the interior? Pole vault?
That’s funny. I kept one section attached with carabiners and use that for the door

Anybody know where I can find this 15w 40 oil?
Not sure what’s in your area but when I google it I see they sell it on Amazon
This guy is quite comical to watch 😂. He had me cracking up 😆.
Thanks for the comment.
Yep, the route that I'm lean towards. I'll have to see what our county permits. 👍🏽🤠 08/16/24
In my opinion doesn’t work
She’s doing great!
Thank you!
I have the same neighbor. She's a cop.
I feel bad for you. Bad neighbors are the worst
Your honestly is great.
Coming from an E100 small garden ride on mower to my new to me (2019 2025r with 90 hours) i am very relieved. Its way more comfortable and easier to mow with but 10 acres on my E100 sucked butt it was rough and i beat up that mower horribly
Glad the upgrade is working out for you
