Woodward Acres
United States
Приєднався 9 лип 2017
Woodward Acres is a small acreage in Jones County, Iowa. We are an up-and-coming tree farm and we create rustic furniture. More importantly, this is just a place for us to share a bit about what it takes to keep our acreage going.
We moved to the country and every day we learn and do more projects to maintain and improve our property for not only ourselves but also our kids.
Things you will find here: Videos using our older John Deere 2025r and our new John Deere 4044m tractors. Using our many tractor implements (Tarter 3pt Tiller, King Kutter Rotary Cutter/Bushhog, Frontier box blade, Countyline Rear Blade, Potato Plow). Using and maintaining our Polaris Sportsman ATV, Polaris Ranger Crew 1000, and our John Deere z915e commercial mower. Retaining walls, concrete projects, gardening, raised vegetable beds, and anything else that comes up.

Cheap Landscape Edging Idea [No one has done this!]
Переглядів 4,7 тис.10 місяців тому
At Woodward Acres, we needed to do some landscaping behind a large retaining wall that was built to hold up the Amish Pole Building that was stood up in under 2 days. I was concerned and wanted to prevent any washout so putting down some cheap landscaping edging to hold rocks back was a pretty good solution. I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg to pay for the landscape edging idea so I ended...

Setting Up a Small Tree Nursery in Iowa [Fall 2022]
Thanks for sharing what you paid, it help all customers buying tractors. Many people fail to share what they paid only helping the dealers charge others more and more. I think you did great with your deal.
Thank you for your advice. I needed to know ALL of it! So off I go to fix my trees.
Daughter did a great job👍🏼
What state do you live in?
Iowa
Great video thank you for doing it!
I put up 6 foot fence with 2 foot of latus on top looks way better.
Just wanted to say thank you for posting this! We are building this design tonight!
I bought a new pair of shoes. No instructions whatsoever on how to tie or untie the laces. I'm returning them, they're junk and useless.
I have never seen a bigger idiot in my life. I laughed at every move he made. Totally wrong from beginnig to end. I would never let this guy cut my grass😅
I would add going to your Lowe's or Home Depot or anywhere they sell lumber and look through the cull pile. Most all of it is half off or less.
My concrete set 4x4 whiskey barrel potter broke after three years . This is perfect. Gonna do this tomorrow.
I’ve had deer trample fence around a bird feeder. If they want it, they’ll get it.😂
You are an ICON!! LEGEND!!! Thank you!!!
You have mentioned that the rear tires tend to come off the ground. What do you have for counterweights?
Uh is that the hog blood 😅
She is doing excellent!
Excellent
She is great
sorry about all the trouble your having first the old seat sides go under the trac suspension and the seat bolts straight to the trac suspension
Thank you! Great job both of you😁
you did great
You did that!!!
Worst equipment operator ever.
NEVER wear something that takes away hearing while operating heavy equipment, its a real bad idea all the way around. You have courage for sharing your experience most wouldn't but just remember these days you have to research every single thing unless you want expensive and dangerous problems
Its an awesome product when installed correctly.
👍🫶😘🤗😎
I can imagine the oil in your car!
I thought the finished side had to face away from the house?
Traditionally that would be true, but I made an exception
I just bought three 10 footers from Amazon. I too have water coming inside below the roll-up doors. Each of my 10 foot strips came with its own 10 oz tube of black waterproof adhesive. I have no clue if these weather strips are worth their money but I think my strips came with a pictured diagram and I think they stated how to place them inside your entrance. Have you had any issues with your weather strip since you installed it?
Well…shortly after I put mine in I drove the tractor out of the building and didn’t realize the box blade was down and essentially tore mine out. A company sent me one in exchange of making a UA-cam video but I haven’t done that yet.
@@WoodwardAcresOkay, thanks. 👍🏽🤠 05/19/24
I don’t own any land but I’m commenting for engagement
Thank you
Very good information. I have struggled with pressure treated lumber for years. It inevitably shrinks and warps, but I believe it’s designed for some shrinkage. Like the idea of laminating the posts. Put in 4x4s and they warp. Wish I’d of known about that.
Thanks for the comment, I got the idea from the Amish when they put my building up
12:22 great video! May have to make some of these! Do you have a video on your channel for the scarecrow leaning against the grill?
I guess I need to rewatch to see what scarecrow you are talking about. Thanks for the comment
@@WoodwardAcres it’s in your thumbnail too
sick ride man
I hate my neighbor too
Thankfully mine moved out.
Very helpful. Thanks!
Thank yiu
I'm doing an 8' tall for sure. Why 3 2x6s for a post instead of one 6x6 which is actually a bit bigger? Cost? This was a very helpful video. Thank you!
I did the 3 2x6 because that’s what the Amish did when building my building. It was less money too but that wasn’t a big factor. Just make sure the curves aren’t all aligned, stack them / glue them/ screw them so if board 1 curves one way the middle board should be opposite and the top opposite from the middle
Everywhere you had put WD40, is where NLGI #2 grease is supposed to go ... the same stuff you put in all the zerks all over it.
Thanks for the feedback
i love how real this video is
Thanks
How do I go about getting a bid on a new pole barn 36' X 40'.x12' with 1-8'x10' garage door and 2- exterior 3.0x6.8 doors.
If you are in eastern Iowa call Dutch brothers construction out of Delhi
Ours are +4 feet tha would freeze and fail before Christmas
I’m going to blow air through it with an air compressor to remove the water. I will do that prior to the weather getting cold.
Haha i love assholes talking shit. Good job man. I was gonna say must be seasonal, Or must be nithe to be down south. Hahaha
not deep enough and not insulated ....good luck.
It’s seasonal- I will blow it out before winter. Thanks
4ft minimum 😂
Sweepers work great
Great to hear
Helpful 👍🍀🇺🇸🙏
Thank you
Two yellow strips go on outside ❗️ NOT THE INSIDE 😮
Thanks I didn’t know that.
Exactly what i was looking for! Will build your design after moving to our new place
Thank you! Good luck with your build
Hi, Nice work . what are dimentions please (lengthX width and height)??
24’ ft wide 40’ long and 12’ high sidewalls
You’re funny 😂😂
Thank you
good afternoon colleague. I’m writing to you from distant Belarus. I bought a tractor like yours, john deere 4044m, at an auction in America, faulty (defective wiring). Maybe you have a wiring diagram for this model of tractor?
I’m not sure if I have that but I will look through the manual and see if I can find anything

Big issue with the two speed trans on yhis model. I was told by a JD dealer. It's havier than the 1025r, but everything is the same, engine, hydraulics. Downside is the trans.
Agree. I only went with 2 series as I didn’t really fit on a 1 series
