First album that I ever bought was in 1972 “Steely Dan , Can’t Buy a thrill “ . It’s been 52 years since then and it’s a THRILL to hear it every time I play it . They are by far my favorite band and I have been fortunate enough to see them live 3 times and each time has been an experience. So if that means I’m consigned to “old fartdom “ so be it ! I will wear that badge proudly ! Where were you when you first heard Steely Dan ? Think back and remember…….Cool , and You are .

Obviously every musician here is just off the charts on talent and focus, but Jon's solo work is just mind-blasting on point here, there's just an explosion of tone, attack, and precision that he just stacks one note after another without slip or fail - seamlessly melding the solo work from the album version(s) with new work, making it all just... work! It all FITS. Being present at this recording would have been a once in a lifetime experience!

When watching an interview, the great walter explaing the origin of the band name. I'm laughting to this day. They aproached the most tabu themes for lyrics with incredible humour and jazzy but fresh grooves.

this is so beautiful bring it back such beautiful memories they clearly do not make pure pure organic music like they used to I am so glad I was a part of this era in the 70s I remember hearing Steely Dan for the first time and saying to myself this is a divine entity

Just watched & listened to the whole concert. WOW, blowed me away. How tight the whole band was. Jazz funk on another level. Had the pleasure of seeing George Clinton & funkadelic back in late 70’s at Hammersmith Odeon in London and I thought you don’t get much funkier than that! But SD were on par. I would have loved to seen than live. Still got Hachan divorce on 7 inch single somewhere in my record collection in the loft 😂

There are many great songs loved by countless people played by outstanding bands worldwide. But the truth, quite simply is that STEELY DAN is your Favorite Band's Favorite Band! The truly elite musicians, bands and legendary producers, engineers at the very pinnacle of the music industry know, understand and respect that Fagan, Brecker are in an Uber class/level far removed from any/all/everything else before, during or after! Besides their own genial musicianship, songwriting was their equally phenomenal discernment of selecting, specifically using THE absolute finest studio musicians/players available anywhere to cause/create perfection!

Always loved these guys. Can't argue with the greatest and the best. Most certainly true..your life in the best music ever..great memories..thanks fellas.
