    Coming from an i.Prestige, I recently bought a Prestige Tour and echo your sentiments almost exactly. If the Tour was a 98 or 99, I think it'd be pretty close to a perfect racket for me.

    Great review, I had fun w new Prestige Classic, great feel but 93' was challenging from Baseline. Actually was hoping for more swingweight

    Another outstanding review full of detailed observations, thank you. I rotate between the 360+ PPro, PTour 2021 and PTour 2023 as my main racquets. I must be one of a minority who likes the feel of the 360+ PPro the best (more raw, less muted and better feedback. YMMV.). Performance wise, they’re so similar that I can switch between them mid-match with ease. I fully agree that for a control 95 sq inch racquet, it’s got a surprisingly high level of free power. Generous spin for a 95 with 8 mains on the bridge.
    5:54 No, Radical Pro has a completely different feel. Much more crisp and direct, firmer than even the Prestige Tour. Off centre shots can be pretty harsh too due to the small sweet spot.

      @transamination 7 місяців тому

      Glad you made comparison to Radical Pro, I was wondering how similar the Prestige Tour and Radical Pro were, given that they are both 16x19, 315g, close in head size, similar RA on paper.

    • @jerome_morrow
      @jerome_morrow 7 місяців тому +2

      @@transamination The Prestige Tour is my main racquet. I playtested the Radical Pro because spec wise, it seems so similar to the Prestige Tour (the string drill pattern is even the same). I had high hopes that it might perform similarly, but with the better forgiveness of a 98 sq in. I gather you’re having similar ideas.
      Alas, the Radical Pro is totally different - tried both 360+ and Auxetic versions. Even when customised to the same weight, balance & swingweight, the Prestige Tour has noticeably better stability, and still provides comfortable feel on off centre shots. For me, the Prestige Tour is the less demanding frame despite being a 95. The sweetspot on the Radical Pro is unfathomably small for a modern racquet!
      IMHO, the Prestige Tour is an outstanding modern 95. Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear to have a particularly large fan base.

      @@jerome_morrow , I tested both frames too and couldn't agree more, the Tour's full CAP helping it play like buttah.

    • @jerome_morrow
      @jerome_morrow 6 місяців тому

      @@brandomaxwell I agree that the CAP grommets contribute to the distinctive feel of the Prestige line. Back in the day when Radicals were 95s with 18x20 drill patterns (like Prestiges), one could switch out the standard grommets on some Radical for CAPs. This made the racquet feel more stable with a lower frequency thud at impact.

    Andy, I wonder if you could compare the PPro 2021 w the 2023? Is Auxetic 1.0 & 2.0 any different? I heard there were some quality control problems in 2021 with some of the models. Is that reason they rereleased racquets that look exactly the same ? Lastly, is there a way to disinguish the 2021 from the 2023 models cosmetically ?

  • @brandomaxwell
    @brandomaxwell 6 місяців тому

    As usual, you've well captured these frames' character. Factoid: the Tour 2021's 338sw was too high to sell, prompting a 333g, 32.5cm, 331sw rebatch, Auxetic making it a tweaked-up 360+ Pro that few knew of, and fewer bought. That the Tour 2023 kept these specs, albeit with a little more flex, makes it, IMO, the best Prestige Tour Head has ever issued.

    I was using the Extreme Tour which is so easy to use and great all around, tried the Prestige Tour and ended up switching for the unreal feel and find it quite manoeuvrable as well…using Head Lynx at 44LBS and want to try something shaped…Lynx Tour and Solinco Confidential I’ll be trying

    Thanks for yet another supreme, detailed review, Andy. It looks Prestige Tour 2023, with head size of 95, RA 62 and SW of 330 is getting closer to Novak's true racquet. It would just need lots of lead to bring the static weight and SW up to his.

      Nikki Roenn playtested the Prestige Tour 2023 on TennisNerd’s channel and had lots of positive things to say about it. It is his favourite Prestige in the 2023 range.
      They also had a similarly spec’d PT57A in that review and Nikki said he’d pick the Prestige Tour over the PT57A since the latter gives absolutely nothing for free and is too demanding a frame to use these days.
