I’m finishing my gravel build this month so this is clutch! Do you also think a chain break tool and extra master links are essentials? I’m also going to be installing an air tag mount behind my bottle cage as a way for both being able to find my bike if it gets swiped and a means for others to locate me if needed.
Awesome congrats going to be so fun once done glad the video helped in some way … wolftooth makes an awesome set of chain pliers that you can also store your master links in thats definitely a key tool. My multi tool has a chain break and I do carry master links luckily enough haven’t needed them. Love the air tag thats a great one I was thinking that the other day for bikepacking, someone mentioned i should do a tech essentials video so Ill add that in 🤙
I hear ya on the bars!! Looking at the Zipp SL70 aero...maybe a Cane Creek carbon post. Dunno? Maybe a set of MTB tyres would be best? Great video, Nick.
Ive been going over bars for probably a month now lol that sl70 aero and the enve allroad have been my attention my issue comes down to fitting clip on aero bars. Im already running mtb tires 2.1s with a new set on the way, ive definitely come up with a few ideas to eek some comfort going forward ill keep you updated 🤙
6:12 Got to love dogs chasing you. I had an owner with a dog that was walking his dog without a leash, I passed the dog and the next thing I hear is the owner calling the dog's name I heard the dog chasing after me and could hear a growl coming from the dog.
Good way to work on your sprint numbers 🤣🤣🤣
at least we got to hit that gold medal Goldilocks gravel again 🤙🏽
As you can see, mud really is whatever you want it to be
New kit for Dummit hey!
Upgraded hydro pack to the uswe 🤙 and of course he found orange 🤣
The Feed also has really good 1L bottles. They’re a little cheaper than the big ones at my Trek store.
You just can’t beat the views and vibes on that trail. Finally had a chance to ride it last week.
Its really a great ride and such easy access, so long as you dont encounter to many walkers not paying attention 🤣
@@wherespinto that’s true. Lots of them wear earphones too. I was never a bell 🛎️ guy but ended up getting one for my bike ha
Keep it up, it’s a slog to get subscribers. Patience will pay off.
🙏 appreciate the watch and words thank you
you're my fav youtuber
🙏 ❤️
Been racing my small 2.5 years. I have the same dimensions as you. Absolutely love it. I have the white with Force and front suspension. I have over 12k miles on it. The carbon e-thirteen wheels. Bomb proof!!
🙏 appreciate the info so awesome hearing someones long term take … i swear the more time i spend on it the more i love this bike closing the gap on 3k miles 🤙
🫧🫧🫧
Niceeee
🙏
Excellent !!! No mention of the watch or bike computer … yet those are luxeries in the desert 😂😂😂. BTW, I picked up the trek black 1L bottles and are a MUST for summer rides.
🤣🤣🤣 man i was thinking that this morning that I should have included those tec … 1L for the win 🫡
@@wherespinto maybe a "tech" video in the future could be a spicy addition.
I like that definitely holding onto that 🤙
Im really interested in Seigla been consuming any seigla info everywhere someone mentioned the paint job chips easily (relatively) what do you think? Have you considered ride wrap or something similar... I just sold my 2019 Pink/Blue s-works Crux frame and am that paint job was amazing which shed mud as well...
Its an incredible bike, i will be doing another review at the end of the season when I finish the build … as far as the paint goes zero issues with chipping and i ride really rugged terrain with lots of flying rocks… personally never considered ride wrap if it gets chipped or scratch so be it but i will say my white paint as a few spots where the paint is more brown hard to explain but its like the dirt doesn’t come off causing some dis coloring .. hope that helps some 🤙
Clutch video right here, running the right equipment is half the battle ⚔️
@@vegasbornmedia 🙏 appreciate that thank you
YES!!!!!
Fantastic review, thanks very much - this bike is on my short list so the review was most helpful
🙏 appreciate the watch best of luck on the search for the next bike

Good content! Good to see you Sean! And hello to Mike and to Nick! Cheers from Hungary!
Glad you enjoyed it, Tibi! Hope all is well!
Appreciate the comment and watch thank you 🙏
Love this comprehensive review. Thanks for the plethora of valuable anecdotal insight, exactly what we need to truly make a decision about a bike at a glance. I'm genuinely interesting in knowing how you feel about ebikes as an excellent cyclist who doesn't need one. Specifically for commuting around or exploring a city & the like. Would one or the other be more fun, more practical, less exhausting, etc?
Appreciate the comment and watch 🙏 If you had asked me a month ago I would have had no good thoughts on ebikes lol However after riding with a friend and his wife whom she was on a ebike id say I get it now. So I think ebikes are great for maybe not so strong cyclists that want to still ride with way better riders and honestly she got a pretty good workout cause she was not wanting to put it on full e mode thus having to work still and ontop of that its great for moto pacing 🤣 really have to work hard to hold a e wheel. I enjoy my bikes for commuting to the gym or quick shop run and dont see any need for an ebike or see how it would be more enjoyable my personal opinion. Hope that helped a bit 🤙
I think the rim makes a huge difference. I run that tire for local xc races that are essentially gravel races and with reynolds rim they absolutely required a compressor but so has every other tire I’ve tried on these rims.
I use a compressor for all tubeless tires even still you can have some issues ether getting them on or not seating properly with different brands 🤙
This is awesome! My wife and I are planning to move to Reno next year. How’s the environment out there? Are there bears on the trails or any dangerous animals? I train for Ironman and love trail running, but I’m a little bit scared of these big guys haha 😅
Appreciate the watch 🙏 You will love it out here lots of amazing trails to run and a solid triathlon community as well. We do have black bears, mountain lions and wolves and ive see absolutely none of them in the last 3 years. Summer time you gotta watch for the rattlesnakes but other then that theres really not much to worry about.
🔥🔥🔥
is there any way to connect with you? I need some information to ask?
Great show!
🙏 Thank You
Lots of great riding up there!
So long as you can avoid all the side 🤣 but yeah theres definitely a lot and very different terrains … thanks for watching 🤙

8:58 Some people have to find out the hard way. 😂
🙋♂️lol that be me definitely was not expecting that
Dang - guess it’s getting to that time of year…
Ya unfortunately it is and the summer lightning storms definitely not helping
YT took me here when I searched Lauf seigla, I found a nice video. I am sorry you had to go home. May I ask you what vest are you using and if it works well for bikepacking? cheers!
I do have a lauf seigla review you can check out 🤙 As for the vest its actually a running vest its a salomon advance skin 12. Actually works well for cycling i put a 2l bladder in it and have lots of pockets for snacks and other items. Re strap makes a similar vest more dedicated for cycling. Appreciate the watch and comment 🙏
@@wherespinto thanks! I saw the review, really well made video. Actually I just got home from a 3-weeks bikepacking trip in Iceland and had the chance to try a Seigla in its best build (mullet AXS, carbon wheels, sun fork) at Lauf HQ. I will probably go for the rigid version as the sus fork is a bit overkill here in southern Finland. I'm looking for a fast bike that I can use on gravel and mix riding and to replace my heavy steel bike on lightweight bikepacking trips.
@@wherespinto a couple questions about the vest still. Hope it's ok for you that I keep asking gear stuff :) How do you secure the hydration tube, you just put it in a pocket? Do you reckon you could attach a small mirrorless camera via a peak design mount or are the straps too light for that?
@@marcellopacifici thats super rad im jealous id love to well A go to iceland but B see there hq. That is the downside that there no way really to test one so being you got to thats even better. Your going to love it only downside for bikepacking depending on your setup and size my small doesn’t let any bigger handlebar bags fit as its to close to the tire. As for the hydration vest theres a zip pocket on ether side so i leave the left side half zip and can place the hydration hose head in there stays in place great or you can magnetic clip across your chest some folks do that. I think you could do the clip with the camera but might be higher then youd like as theres only so much real-estate before a pocket that holds a flask bottle. Hope that helps some 🤙
@@wherespinto cool to know thanks. I've tried a S but I'll go for the M rigid Seigla when I'm ready to buy one as I don't race. I'm a bit broke after Iceland 😅. That's the downside, everything is so expensive, especially accommodation. I hope you manage to travel there one day, I was in awe for the landscape literally every second of my trip. So unique. But the wind will kick your butt. I've cycled the south and the Westfjords. The plan was to traverse the highlands (aka Iceland divide) but mountain roads were still closed when I reached the start of the route in Vik, so I had to change plans a bit.
I saw beside the road over by Boca...You kind of had that "I got nothing look".
🤣🤣🤣 feel like i might had that look a few times
The next version will have internal cable routing and a glove box. Facts
@@frienduro24 hard to say if they will or wont but if they want to take the next step that would definitely be the move and at that price point would kill competition 🤙
The only reason to not run MTB tires on your gravel bike: frame clearance…
No worries there got room for 57s 🤘
Subscribed. Have had a Seigla for a couple years now so the constant tinkering is in my ballpark of gear musings! Well done on the frank conversation format.
Thank you appreciate that 🙏
Great video! You think you can test out the Maxxis Aspen or Aspen ST? Or the faster xc option from Challenge?
Ill take a look at those not usually a maxis fan haven’t had good luck with there tires in the past normally wear out pretty quick.
@@wherespinto The aspens last better from what my friends tell me. I dunno only tried the aspens.
@@wherespinto Someone else mentioned the new Vittoria's those also look sweet!
When I was on the TB I had the rear last for 1000 miles before it needed to be swapped. At around 700-800 is when it started to show for me. I ride SoCal trails, which shares some trails to where you ride. Which version of their casing did you try, the Super Ground? Do you think you can test out the Schwalbe Racing Ralph(a little slower than the TB, but more durable?) and Vittoria Peyote(2.25)?
Thats a pretty good run on your tries, I had the addix speedgrip. Appreciate the tire info ill have a look into those, i know lot of folks running a thunderburt / ralph combo for more technical races be curious to see if the ralph last any longer 🤙
@@wherespinto same. I plan to test out the Racing Ralph as a front once my current tires wear out.
Changed my first tp5000 tyre last night, these are famous for being a size too small and impossible to fit by hand! I have run the 32mm off road once, sketchy as!
Great tire definitely can be a pain getting on and off I know that sketchy had them on my tt in a triathlon they had a section of gravel we had to ride through 🤣
How’s da toe overlap on this? What crank to use with Grx set up since it’s 73mm Shelly?
As I stated toe lap is a thing doesn’t bother me have it on all my bikes most notably switchbacks will be where notice it most.. they only offer sram group sets wouldn’t know what you need for grx 🤙
I was lucky to test ride size M before placing order. There is no toe overlap! This is the first thing on my check list when I am checking new bikes, since I hate it :) My shoe size is 11.
@@vmxdtanks mate you da you da best
Great review! My Seigla Transmission Weekend Warrior is on order, but I went with the suspension fork for more comfort. I do not race, just solo 40/50/60 miles rides to keep my body and legs in shape :) The only thing I will add later on is the dropper post. I am 5.11 / 32 inseam and had a chance to test ride size M it fits perfectly, so went with size M.
Appreciate the watch 🙏 Medium good call if you’re going for the comfort paired with the sus fork. It’s an amazing bike love mine more and more. Enjoy the new bike and all the awesome adventures 🤙
@@wherespinto tnx! I will :)
Hey Nick, would be cool to see a bike packing/gear shake down video w/lauf, On my to do list when it gets cooler in Minnesota. LOVE the downhills runs!!!
Absolutely 🤙 still learning how to get it all to work but definitely will do that.
Hey man keep up the good work and don’t let the temporary slump get you down. We’ve met at a couple local races here and I love what you’re doing with the channel and showing off all the local beauty we’ve got around here. Good stuff, keep it up!
🙏 Really appreciate that thank you
Have the ‘Burts’ on my 650 wheels, 42mm pathfinders on my 700c wheels for summer/tarmac use (no mud clearance) . G-one 40mm for 700c winter riding.
Thats a solid quiver of tires 🤙
@@wherespinto ty !
Welcome to summer.
Summer with a little spice 🥵
Digging your videos Nick. Music selections are perfect for the content. I’m considering snagging a Seigla Rigid to solve my N+1 search…how do you like the Seigla for pure road rides/with your road tire setup? Injuries are a beyatch, good luck with the healing and stay cool in that gnar heat!
Appreciate it 🙏 Without giving to much away from that video I will say I prefer riding the lauf on the road vs my aero road bike and it descends a hell of a lot quicker. It might not be the best road race machine but can easily hold its own on the group ride at 20mph average. If your used to a more endurance road bike it absolutely can replace it 🤙 Hope that helps
What is you saddle height?
Sitting at just a hair over 29 inches
I love my thunder burts
A wider tire at a lower pressure will roll faster. A thinner softer casing will roll faster. I went from riding a 700x43 Panaracer Gravel King SK tire on an i18mm rim at 40psi to a 700x47 Specialized Pathfinder Pro tire on an i30mm rim at 26psi. What a huge difference. So much faster. No problem with punctures. A 700x56 (29x2.2) or even wider Gravel specific tire on an i25-30mm rim is the direction that Gravel bikes need to go.
@@marksandoval5361 Bigger the better 💪 couldn’t agree more we’re slowly moving in that direction more people running 45s when 40s used to be big tires haha Just need the bike companies to catch up and offer bigger clearance thats what sold me on the lauf 🤙
The perfect video title to trigger so many gravel riders, lol
🤣 small channels got to pull all the strings to get them views … appreciate watching 🤙
