the end of s2 hadnt even come out yet when the video was animated, but I really like the parallels between the end of the animation and the epilogue, especially with normal. both of them have everyone else standing together and normal eventually joining them, doubtfully but still with hope that it’ll be alright

Tweek and Craig are peak ADHD and Autism. I love this episode! The plot and songs are amazing especially put it down, the way the plot all comes together at the end is both hilarious and genious.

Aurgh, I love Tweek and Craig so much. They complete and compliment each other so, so well. They are basically what both of them needed. For Tweek, Craig was the one who made him believe in himself in a way he never has before (his own words). For Craig, he had to learn emotional vulnerability and understanding in a way he didn't know before. And they were both dealing with some form of internalized homophobia before, indefinitely, until they got together. Creek for da winnnn Anyway amazing video, you perfectly explained why this episode is awesome, and you're surprisingly underrated!! I'm gonna go rewatch Put It Down for the 50th time again

Their relationship evolves in such an effective way and as you say they’re trying to help each. Plus the contrast between Craig & Tweek and Eric & Heidi is really well done. This is definitely one of my very favorite episodes and your analysis did it justice.

I hear you on your critic but as you said, we are growing with the story and the characters and encountering more morally complex foes and situations so wouldn't the bad kids leaving a battle with an enemy/antagonist without a complete feeling of triumph and satisfaction also be the moral complexity we need to deal with. Don't get me wrong, a bad guy is a bad guy is a bad guy but not all villains/antagonists present themselves with clearly 'mwa-ha-ha' intentions and ideals perfectly wrapped and neatly tied with a bow

The thing is is that the Grinders are possesed theyre thralls. It's fairly clear that by the end of this that the majority of the Grinders will be alive an unthralled and while not nesessarily on the same page as the bad kids uderstanding that this is a team of heros not a stuck up group of coasters

I see your point, I'm not disagreeing, but I do think there is something to say for them being (probably unwitting) worshippers of Ankarna and the idea of wrath reducing complexity down to a simple binary. Like, they were an interesting antagonistic foil for the bad kids, and then they got possessed by rage shards or whatever and became just Bad Guys because wrath doesnt have room for complexity or nuance or depth, it just becomes Thing Bad. Maybe a reach, maybe cope, but i think theres something there... Cool video. Subbed. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts post season.

Eh, nobody liked buddy in the audience, so saying it makes them less morally justified is a little ad hoc. IMO, it was already obvious that they killed their last cleric and they were definitely trying to fail the bad kids beforehand. This death just demonstrated to us their process for joining the unnamed god’s side.

Just want to point out that killing Buddy was never the original plan. Kipperlilly intended to sneak her way into the stadium, kill the examiner guy and planeshift away. It was only because Ally ate the vulture eye that caused Brennan to switch up and improvise. I say thier real names because this was what happened outside of the game. Kipperlilly never expected Kirsten to eat the vulture eye and neither did Brennan. The next best option to screw over the Bad Kids was attempting to trap them in the colleseum realm without any form of reserection/revivify (presuming Kipperlilly never knew that Kirsten knew the Dimension door spell). I wrote this out before watching the rest of the video and tbh I agree and have actaully stated that it seems odd the the BBEG this season seems to be a bunch of murder teens that don't really have much of a big agenda (from what we've seen as of yet) that the Bad Kids need to oppose other than spite and general annoyance.

I think this ended up largely getting addressed in the next episode, but I really enjoy the analysis of the Bad Kids and the Ratgrinders and the contrasts between them. Kipperlilly in particular makes me think of a character realizing she's been forced into the role of a side character (not dissimilar to the Stepmother in Neverafter)

sooo, do we wanna talk about how it ended

(spoilers i guess) I think that the next episode showing his revival makes it seem less extreme that they killed him. If they've all been resurrected they may have seen it as a drastic yet still practical means of keeping the bad kids in the realm with no planeshift. If they have died themselves, then they would be a lot more careless about death I presume. They probably thought it would be a great idea because it would get Buddy on the same page as the rest of the group

Love your analysis of the season. I think there is potentially still room for the rat grinders to bring moral complexity given what is revealed in episode 16. But even if it is just a bunch of petty superpowered high schoolers killing each other I'm down for that 🤷
