    Huh, I always said that we need a Red Dead Redemption 2 style Lotr game :)...the GTA style sandbox but combined with in depth RPG system, exploration, and deeper connection to lore and world of the setting :)...I mean Shadow of War may have enjoyable gameplay...but when it comes to lore and treatment of Tolkien's world then it leaves much to be desired no matter the way we look at it :) there was so much book lore which could have enhanced or added to the gameplay of the Monoltih's Shadow of games :) elements like Silent Watchers, the lesser wraiths victims of Morgul-knife that could have been potential enemy seen mostly in the Unseen the Wraith-world (kind of like the Soul Reaver spectral realm style of having enemy type for both material and spectral :)) I mean the Assassin's Creed formula of SoM in itself is not bad idea, IF they especially used the example of later AC titles like...AC Black Flag, mixing it with AC Odyssey and Origins what with naval combat, boats and ships in open world, RDR2 has also all those vehicles like coaches, carriages, carts, those would be fun to have also in Lotr game hehe. I mean RDR2 Lotr game would be INCREDIBLE :) all the mechanics of hunting, camping but also elements of deeper story, NPCs to talk to with dialogue trees and conversations more like in Dragon Age also would be fun,...in generla the Tolkien fans need a proper immersive open world single player RPG that would use the lore and world to it's full potential...one also can try various historical settings for story like war of Arnor with Angmar, civil war in Gondor the Kin-strife etc. The AC style naval combat for sailing on the great ships on Great Sea Belegaer, exploring the isles and shores of Middle-earth ohh that would be something, imagine having the sea battles with ships of Corsairs of Umbar :) (here even storyline of say young Aragorn adventures as Thorongil would be useful for story, Aragorn commanded fleet of Gondor during famous raid on Umbar :)) the AC games also managed to create some nice urban areas recreating some historical cities some of which inspiration could have added to crafting great urban centers of Middle-earth cities of Gondor and Arnor, Tharbad, Annuminas, Fornost, also if ever a lotr game did a grand numenorean city let's hope it would make the Witcher 3 Novigrad look small hehe :)...Novigrad in the witcher game is definitely very decently done urban setting!
    Ahh one can only dream to have such an ultimate experience in gameplay...in depth and deep lore use and story elements and engaging characters as well as the sandbox immersive and 'realistic' design, with beautiful graphics, lived in feeling, animations, NPC doing stuff and daily routines, day night cycle, weather patterns, some maybe seasonal changes (Hogwarts Legacy promises that). A lotr game where you could sail in a boat on Great River Anduin from the north all the way down to the south to Osgiliath...of course passing by portage ways through the great falls of Rauros and rapids hehe :). Red Dead Redemption 2 indeed would be a great model for a game, but surprisingly so far we haven't even got an Elder Scrolls clone, :) nor even humbler example of Gothic used the closest to Dragon Age style game would be...War in the North though it's linear (but it has lore treatment closer to book, and some elements that would do well in open world rpg, and the looting was fun :)) RDR2 gameplay for a Lotr title would be amazing dream come true...so sadly we can't ever hope to see it :)...what games are we currently expecting...well Lotr Gollum the simpler linear stealth/action platformer game (if it at least will be as good as say...Styx then it will succeed), some survival crafting type game Return to Moria and what else....long and long nothing other than crappy mobile games :) sadly the lotr license for gaming have no yet been used to it's potential, and there is ENORMOUS one for lotr, all the stuff we could do in a AAA game with modern graphics, good physics and animations with great free roam possibiltiies because of course this is part of the experience the adventure...LOTRO the MMO as people say come close to what is needed but I would love to see a single player experience. Like Bilbo said in The Hobbit book;
    "“Not the Gandalf who was responsible for so many quiet lads and lasses going off into the Blue for mad adventures? Anything from climbing trees to visiting elves-or sailing in ships, sailing to other shores! Bless me, life used to be quite inter-I mean, you used to upset things badly in these parts once upon a time. I beg your pardon, but I had no idea you were still in business.”
    :)

    I hear you man. As a Lord of the Rings fan, it sucks seeing Harry Potter get its own open world game. A lore accurate video game would be fucking awesome. Maybe a game where it takes place in different time periods in Middle-earth in the Second and Third Age, or even a story-mode with events from Beleriand in the First Age. Nowadays it sucks being a Tolkien fan with all the disappointment from Rings of Power, Gollum, and overall people who don’t respect the books. When War of the Rohirrim comes out maybe that will salvage my hopes for screen adaptations of Middle-earth…but only one can dream

    And by the way speaking of Pirates of the Caribbean franchise...it's a giant shame that the video game Pirates of the Caribbean Armada of the Damned was cancelled! I mean it was an original story set in the universe of the films but hell it could have been great...and it could have preceded the AC Black Flag for that naval combat hehe :) Pirates of the Caribbean franchise also deserves a good video game that would open up the possibilities, open world adventures :).
